  1. Appears your hospital took the iniative upon your behalf which obviously worked to your benefit. It would seem you were wrongly (or rightly) treated as a Thai. At my local community hospital registering didn't come into it. They would ring us and Thai Mrs and myself could both go as soon as they received stocks of vaccine. I didn't have my Yellow Book/Pink Card then but it made no difference in my case.
  2. Wow! Shocking customer service. He could have been on the receiving end of something (or someone) very nasty earlier on?
  3. I always carry my passport anyway. However, I'll try it next time. Agree that there's no profit in giving out more information than you need.
  4. Agree on Yellow Tabien Baan as proof of address. Things certainly do vary though. I've never stayed in a hotel in Phuket or Krabi (irrespective of who does the checking in or the name on the booking) where the desk staff haven't demanded my passport then leafed through the pages to find my latest extension stamp and taken a photocopy.
  5. That's what I'm intetested in too. A report from someone who couldn't get a mobile signal without but the aerial has now made that possible.
  6. Thanks for the idea. Will need to renew my unlimited data packs on my main and backup mobile soon. Have True and AIS. Year before last had NT Thunder for only 999 baht. It worked in around 50% of places when out and about. Good enough for me as a backup. However, it didn't work at home. SIM router plus aerial might make all the difference?
  7. Very sorry about your wife. Thanks for your information and best wishes!
  8. Thanks for this most valuable information Sheryl. Schwannoma surgery history was not discussed yesterday. Mrs has a friend with breast cancer who is under Srinagarind Hospital in Khon Kaen.
  9. Incredible! Thanks so much. My wife is 56. She has already said that she wants to be treated under her 30 baht scheme in Khon Kaen Regional Hospital. Three years ago she had Schwannoma tumours cut out of her leg by the same young doctor she saw at the tumour clinic. We booked a private room. Her daughter stayed with her to provide personal care and fetch the noodles! Surgery was performed under local anaesthetic as this was a relatively minor matter.
  10. We attended Bangkok Hospital in Khon Kaen on Saturday for the imaging. Returned next day for consultation. Same doctor took the five biopsies.
  11. Most definitely agree! Thanks for your recommendation.
  12. Great to hear this. Many thanks!
  13. Very helpful and uplifting information. Thank you.
  14. Wonderful success! Thank you for the encouragement.
  15. Thai Mrs booked a promotional breast cancer screening at a well known private hospital. Imaging ‘strongly suggested cancer’. Doctor confirmed cancer which has spread to underarm lymph nodes. Five biopsies taken now awaiting results. When my mother had cancer 11 years ago the doctor told me 'when lymph nodes are up even palliative chemotherapy is useless'. My question; Why has the hospital taken biopsies if it’s hopeless?
  16. From what I can work out, the booby-trapped pagers were unlawful weapons; 'The pager is being adapted to convert it into a booby-trap of the sort addressed by Article 7(2) of Amended Protocol II and on that basis it would appear, considering what is currently known and assumed, to be an unlawful weapon'.

  18. I would respectfully suggest this category might cover it; ■ 'killing or wounding treacherously a combatant adversary'.
  19. Wasn't the case for me. I went from agent to 'doing it myself'. My Immigration Officer looked at the previous retirement extension stamp and asked; 'How much did you pay your agent?'. She said if I wished, she could do it for less.
  20. Both Mrs and myself have iPhone 8 Plus. Purchased when five years old from our local friendly mobile shop. My iPhone 7 Plus went to my stepdaughter who still uses it without complaint!
  21. Only one computer doesn't recognise one of your external hard drives? You used the other computer to copy your TV shows etc. onto your other external hard drive? Then everything is backed up and safe! As Photoguy21 suggests, the problem may 'resolve' itself. Nothing to worry about.
  22. OP has relatively recently purchased a new machine with Windows 11 pre-installed. Assuming the external hard drive uses NTFS file system I can't see any problem there?
  23. As you state, Cigna Global are good (if not the best). However not cheap! The difference seems to be that cheaper companies (at least all those I tried) excluded pre-existing conditions. That included a diagnosed condition that had not recurred for 40 years and had not required any medication since. Only Cigna Global took into account the fact of how long ago it was and that I was not currently receiving treatment. They determined the condition 'resolved' and therefore not excluded.
  24. Many thanks for your information. Proves it's vital to keep up-to-date! I had a look and the only age limit is now the minimum one of 18. Unfortunately, I'm outside the specified weight range of 40-100kg. In case you aren't already aware this appears to be up-to-date; https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0940960217301504#:~:text=The body donation programme began, south) that accept body donations.
