  1. Thanks for this. Probably KK will do same to me next time. Did the IO make you go outside to the photocopy girl and obtain a TM30 form, complete it, get it checked at the desk on the left by the entrance and then queue up again?
  2. Hackers in Moldova obtained access to my AliExpress account. I had saved my credit card information in my AliExpress account thus they were able to order goods and have them delivered to their address in Moldova. AliExpress sent me an email telling me my goods were on their way. I was too late to stop the first 'trial' purchase but it was only for $6 USD and I got that back from my bank. I cancelled my credit card so further orders couldn't be made.
  3. You're welcome. I just tried it myself but can't because I don't have a debit card. I did previously but it expired and they didn't send a new one and I didn't ask for one!
  4. BritManToo was advising it's safer not to have a card. If you need cash from an ATM use contactless withdrawal with your mobile phone. Alternatively, deactivate your card when not required via your mobile banking app.
  5. Especially when lacking a rear light at night. Even more when it's a moto with side cart attached. Can't remember ever seeing one that had two red lights (and both working).
  6. We presently have one small dog and two cats. One of the cats is kept at my Mrs' shop on rat control duty. Last week Mrs walked into shop clutching a tiny kitten she'd picked up in the street. We take it with us between home and shop each day. As you say, cats do change. Some time ago whilst at home we heard a kitten crying. It went on for a while so we investigated. It was hiding underneath one of our concrete water storage tanks. We spent hours trying to entice it out. It soon grew into a bulky cat. It hissed at us if we went anywhere near it. It snarled at me when I had to pick it up. I found it dead at our back door with foam on it's mouth. A neighbour had poisoned it.
  7. I inherited a Honda Wave 100 base from my father-in-law. I liked the machine for it's simplicity. Rarely rode it but it was good to know I could if needed. One day it disappeared. My Mrs told me she'd given it to a couple who 'had nothing'. I was upset at first but accepted their need was greater than mine.
  8. No turning left on red. Absolutely no running red lights even though the way ahead may appear to be clear.
  9. Gave up trying after four years. By chance, my Mrs spoke to Head of Amphur Customer Services at our local blood donor sessions. He was sympathetic because I'm the only foreign blood donor in town. He told his staff to 'give over' and I got my Yellow Book and Pink ID Card a few days later.
  10. Bizarre and most annoying. My two witnesses were the lady who works in my Mrs' shop and our village head woman. I'd never met the head woman previously. Neither could speak any English.
  11. There very well maybe! However, I can understand them not wanting to get involved in an argument. Far easier for them to tell you to go and see the police about it.
  12. I was told that there were two requirements; 1) I had to be married, 2) I had to have been resident over 12 months. To apply, translated and certified copies of passport and original 'full form' birth certificate. My U.K. birth certificate was a 'short form' which didn't state parents. May I suggest you visit your Amphur/City Hall and ask them for a list of their particular requirements. As already advised above, it is unlikely they will speak English well enough to explain so taking a Thai person with you will help.
  13. Same here. Nice and thin, VivoBook 15 (X1502). 16GB RAM enough for a basic user and not expensive.
  14. Here's where I get my Windows operating systems from. For a decade or so. Never any problem. https://zone94.com/downloads/software/operating-systems/160-windows-11-23h2-16in1-x64-integral-edition
  15. Thanks for letting us know. My most recent mobile is an iPhone 8 Plus. Whilst 5th Generation isn't yet available either where I am or in my home town, I think it's time to embrace newer technology. eSIM's seem to be the way to go for a simpler life.
  16. Topic needs moving to; Thailand Extra Forums - Communication.
  17. 48 years for mine, only one of five developed a root infection.
  18. Can confirm. Had five gold crowns fitted in 1976. So far, only one has given any trouble. It developed a root infection. Option was either root canal and another crown or extraction. Dentist advised that as it had already been worked upon extraction might be the best bet. That's what I went with.
  19. Wow! That's great! Many thanks for your information. Shows that things do change and we need to keep up-to-date. Had given up myself (too old and too heavy). Found this; unfortunately, the upper age limit for organ donation/whole cadavers is 65. https://chulalongkornhospital.go.th/kcmh/en/body-and-organ-donations/
  20. There have been previous reports of ex-pats being told; 'We don't accept foreigners'. I have seen a 65 year age limit on body donor application forms. The forms are, of course, designed for Thai's. Sorry to be blunt but the body won't be a fit state for donation if it's been transported on the bed of a pick-up in 40 degrees. In addition, delays with release paperwork will make matters worse. Can fully understand why Thai medical schools would prefer not to accept foreign cadavers.
  21. It was. I had written the name of the hotel and town only because I couldn't remember the full street address. I had failed to fully complete the form so it was a fair question.
