That's a pity. It's a great park. There is nothing wrong with it, no upgrading required, if redeveloping means into a new park(except for the bike lane which is too narrow and very dangerous) If on the other hand it means we are getting another shopping mall or some other <deleted>.....

It's a wonderful park. Especially in the evening. I don't think it needs a major overhaul, but it would be nice if they fixed the wooden boardwalk where a lot of the wood has rotted away. I believe there's concrete underneath so it's not really a safety issue. Except for tripping.

  2. 10,000 baht per day of spending on average?

If this number is correct, then it should be paired with the information that some of the Indian tourists are wealthy people throwing lavish weddings where no expense is spared.

And maybe the rest of the tourists are these groups of single men haggling about everything.

    That would mean two things:

    1. It makes more sense to declare the median spending than the average
    2. These weddings must be plentiful and/or extremely expensive

Could it be that the Author of the note was most likely upset that most of the businesses employees were illegal immigrants from Spanish speaking countries, and were just speaking Spanish.

I would think it would be cheaper to hire Mexicans, or other South Americans, than Thais, to run the business.

The note writer will develop carpal tunnel syndrome from all the writing if he keeps getting upset about meeting Spanish-speaking people in Texas.

  4. There's a cycling track around Suvarnabhumi airport and at certain times you're allowed to cycle in some parks (Lumphini etc). All other places are subject to the terrors of the road (cars and dogs).

This is dialectics. It's very simple dialectics. It's one through nine, no maybes, no supposes, no fractions. You can't travel in space. You can't go out into space, without like, you know, with fractions. What are you gonna land on? One quarter? Three- eighths? What are you gonna do when you go from here to Venus? That's dialectic physics, okay? Dialectic logic is, there's only love and hate. You either love somebody, or you hate them.

    Hopper? You out there?

  6. I don't want to appear paranoid, but the feisty troll Sakoo just went quiet/dark and then EuropeanGuy turns up. With an interesting vocabulary and a need to show us that he has never used a forum before (oh, how do I answer the correct posting?).

It probably doesn't matter anyway. Let's see if this thread gets 300+ posts too.

Well, I’m not American. So I didn’t lose. But I’m also not a soyboy who thinks we should all sit around singing kumbaya suckin each other off. All is fair in love and war.

"All is fair in love and war" is a cute saying - but it's a horrible argument. Especially in this case. So if this soldier could (allegedly) stab a prisoner in the neck and then pose for a photo op with the corpse that would also be "fair" if he did it to and with his girlfriend...?

I think you got dinged AGAIN 400b, sounds like a several dozen meals right there down the drain. I suggest learning how to cook. So next time you can use that 400b to help out the orphans or help free the beaten baby elephant at the Isan Elephant Slavery Camp. Now that would be a better use of 400b. Giving it to the Thai government helps nobody except corrupt officials, who will probably use the money for sex tourism in Cambodia or their own country. Only farang pay those ridiculous ticket prices anyways.

Whatever justifies your cheapness, I guess.

You really think that carrying an illegal weapon around in public is a way to ensure one's safety?

I don't think people should be armed in public. That's no way to ensure safety.

That being said, there is some imbalance in the laws and practices of most countries in regards to dogs and weapons. Where I live I often see young women walking around with huge pit bull type dogs. The dogs often weigh about the same as the owner. There is no chance in hell the young woman can physically control the dog if it wants to attack someone. The rest of us just have to hope the dog is reasonable. I compare it to girls walking around with muscular 100+ kg boyfriends who are high on drugs and have a machete duct-taped to one hand. We all just have to trust that girl's judgment in walking around with that guy.

So, basically, having a weaponised animal in public is fine. But if I have as much as a 10 cm knife on me in public I get fined. Or worse. The only way for me to legally achieve some kind of power balance is by getting another of those truly horrible animals for myself. Or a tiger. I don't believe in that kind of an arms-race.

The dogs running around Thailand are not any kind of indigenous species that were there before humans. It's not like we're encroaching on "their" land. Some selfish people just put them there and let them loose. Like burying anti-personnel mines.

There are no voices Andy, it is a spiritual connection. And I don't recall writing about tenants. You have it mixed up again, bud. Time for a nap, I think. Maybe a massage for 100b/hour.

I'm not your bud or your partner.

Your words to me (emphasis is mine):

    Quote

It is more likely you are so disturbed by the idea that I Indeed know and have found ways to get stuff for free, and without hurting anyone, that it irks you so much since you were raised to think you have to pay for everything to be yours. And that is the deception of capitalism, consumerism and commercialism. All disgusting Western belief system (and pushy ones too) and you would like everyone in the world to follow these tenants simply by the fact that you have to follow them. Well forget it. Some of us realize paying income taxes is a scam by the government to squeeze us and others pay happily /.../

This level of disrespect to those of us who actually buy and pay for the things that you use for "free" is really disturbing. Your actions are those of a low parasite.

Dear Andrew Kerry (a very white name by the way)

You are in your elder years and I am in the beginning of mid life. But I skipped a grade when I was young so that makes a huge difference. Also the Lord advanced my mind to be ahead of my peers in high school. That is why I am different. Because He made me so. So He can send me on this trip to school ignorant backpackers on the ways of the Lord. For now, He has brought me to some of you. To teach you repentance.

Andrew Kerry? I assume you've never heard of a rookery before.

If these are individual values, you're saying I'm near my death while you have half your life in front of you. That means nothing. It could mean I'm 32. And you could be 16.
