  1. Last year I tried to get NON- O based on marriage extended for the first time in the Jomtien office.
Extension was refused but I read some comments that it is notoriously difficult at Jomtien office and some people have actually moved to other provinces because of it.
I am thinking of buying a condo in Chonburi or Rayong and want to get 3 extensions together to perhaps apply for residency in future.
If it is that difficult to get extensions (or residency) at the Jomtien office then I would perhaps look to buy in another nearby jurisdiction.
Would be helpful to hear other peoples experiences doing the extensions/residency at Jomtien office.
    Why was it refused?

  2. As the posted said...Just like Roman Catholics used to and strict ones still do.

Same applies to strict Orthodox Jews,

Maybe one in a million do ,but we all know that it is only muslims that insist on it 100% apart from that i have never come across it in any other faith or heard of it in all my years .

So please do not post things that are far far from the truth.

  3. Very true, my second wife who passed away was a catholic. Never any signs she wanted me to become one. Wouldn't have married her in the first place if she had.

Sorry about your wife,i do not understand why people make stuff like this up, even if a Jew marries the children take the wifes faith so if she is a Christian the kids become Christian. Islam is the only faith that makes you and any offspring to become Muslim ,thus ensuring they get more into the faith.

  4. As a few other TV members have said, many thanks for the update on your son’s situation.  Sorry to hear that his repatriation is taking much longer that both you, and no doubt he, were hoping for.

Regrading your subsequent comment that nobody from the Embassy has visited your son at IDC since his arrival two weeks ago.  I would agree that this lack of support is not very good.

FYI…..  IDC are supposed to notify the Embassy within 24 hours of your son’s arrival.  It is possible, for example, that if he arrived at the IDC late on a Friday afternoon they would not have officially notified the Embassy until the following Monday.

It also needs to be borne in mind that there have been two holidays here, almost back-to-back.  Namely, Songkran (Thai/Buddhist New Year) followed by the Easter holiday both of which would have affected Immigration and Embassy staff to one degree or another.

Hopefully this week you will have some good news that his flight back to the UK has been booked and that you will soon be able to give him a clip around the lughole for causing you so much grief.

Please keep us updated on his progress as its always nice to know the final outcome.

    PS.
Please also bear in mind that Civil Servants (Consular Staff) only have two speeds.  Namely, dead slow and stop.  Urgency does not exist in their vocabulary. [emoji849]
Many years ago i had to deal with the Embassy on business stop was their fast response,

  5. You are correct. I recall police in BKK going around fining foreigners that weren't carrying their passports.
In 25 years i have never been asked for my actual passport, but once i have had to produce it,i am not talking about western union or a bank,i know when i need to show it,put police never,my Tha driving licence has always done

  7. The process and cost obviously differs area to area. I got my 1st I.D. card at Bang Lamung 3 years ago, it cost me 300 baht and it has no expiry date. Apart from getting into places at the Thai price and showing it at hotel check in instead of a passport it's of very little use.
I use my Thai driving licence ,always get Thai price, except for the first time at floating market in years had to pay just before leaving went and got a lifetime vip free pass

  8. They "accepted" and "had a place" for you?  For what?  Which country/city?

Why did you bother to write to cities in cold climates as you claim?  How exactly do you write to "a city"?

Personally after reading his post ,i think its just a wind up,most of it is rubbish, like staggering with his cane or walker ,all airlines supply wheelchairs and assistance

  9. First you need to locate it and on Your way to do so you have left the spot where you found it so regardless it is considered as teft under Thai Law - yet another useless Law that one may assume comes into conflict With human rights ...
Why go to a police station ,there were dozens of places in the airport . He stole it
