Thailand Will Adopt New Policy to Reopen within This Year
Caldera replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
OSOS, oh-SOS! Yet another reopening plan, how confusing. -
Indeed, they have a survey (all in Thai, just like most of the app in general) to ask you for the side effects you've encountered after 1 day and after 7 days, respectively.

Why bother staying in a big and buzzing metropolis, if you like it quiet at night? Aren't there better places for someone so inclined?

I think Thailand has pretty much maxed out attracting all those foreigners who find Thailand attractive in one way or another. Those who have wanted to stay have always found a way. Others cannot be lured in anywhere near the numbers they are dreaming up, no matter how much lipstick they put on the pig. It's fascinating to watch. But really, for almost anyone who will meet their new criteria, there are better places.

On a domestic flight, locked into a seat for one hour plus, I'd definitely prefer to be surrounded by people who have been vaccinated or tested.

A user’s guide to Thailand’s new digital health pass

You don't enter the 4 letter code displayed there, but the 6 digit OTP that you should have received by SMS. -
A user’s guide to Thailand’s new digital health pass
Caldera replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Praise where praise is due. I just had my 2nd jab and my Mor Phrom app can now be used to show my "Digital Health Pass". Name, passport number, QR code - should be easy to check and to validate if and when needed. -
Firing him when his Australian conviction became public knowledge would have shown strength. Firing him now, not so much.

Thailand to launch ‘Digital Health Pass’ for domestic flights
Caldera replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That's going to be troublesome, in both directions. I'm in the process of getting vaccinated in Thailand, so the Thai certificate won't be a problem for me. But back home, the EU's version of a digital health pass is needed to visit restaurants and such, and it remains to be seen if/how I'll be able to get that when traveling there. -
While I'm in favor of these anti-government protests, being a foreigner, I wouldn't join them. And I find it acceptable that foreigners aren't allowed to join. It is up to the Thai people (or should be, hello army!) to decide who governs them. There shouldn't be any foreign meddling. Back at home, I'm opposed to allowing foreigners to hold or join political protests as well, that is just common sense.

Thailand confirms first case of VITT linked to AZ jab

Confirms that AstraZeneca is very safe. The risk of serious side effects is extremely low. Keep on vaxxing! -
Vaccination status a factor for Volunteer visa?
Caldera replied to Hal65's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Are you sure you're not mixing up those terms? From your OP, you're currently on a 1 year "volunteer visa". No such thing exists, so you probably had a non-immigrant visa of some kind, plus an extension of stay based on volunteering. That being the case, you already have a non-immigrant visa and cannot apply for another one "within the kingdom". I'd guess what you're actually after is another extension based on volunteering when your current one expires. -
Long story short, they're too stupid to figure out online payments, in the year 2021? So you need to show up in person, to allow them to collect cash from you?

One week in and they're already blaming the people for making use of their new freedoms. Ridiculous.
