Why are fewer Chinese tourists visiting Thailand?
Caldera replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well it's not like the original estimate that they are now comparing the actual number with had any basis in fact to begin with; the TAT was just dreaming up numbers as per usual. They don't need an AI to hallucinate, that lot. -
As a former commander-in-chief, he should be tried in a military court, which would save everyone some time. It's blatantly obvious to anyone who can see that he attempted to undermine the certification process of the election results in Congress by inciting a mob after everything else had failed. Not least to deter future presidents from attempting the same, he needs to be given the most severe punishment for his crimes.

Help/ Advice regarding a visiting Vietnamese national to Thailand 2024
Caldera replied to Scouse123's topic in General Topics
Flying in visa exempt, he should be able to show the following if questioned: 10,000 baht or equivalent in another currency in cash. (20,000 baht is the amount required for those on a tourist visa). Address in Thailand (e.g. a hotel booking). Outbound ticket. This one will probably be enforced by the airline already, before allowing him to board his flight to Thailand. -
German documentary reignites sex tourism concerns for Thailand’s Pattaya
Caldera replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Says it all. It's not the documentary that is damaging Thailand's reputation, it's what is going on in Thailand that they don't want anyone to know. Either own it or make changes, but don't shoot the messenger. -

Except for Russians, all those you've mentioned currently get 30 days, not 90 days. -
Passport not stamped with 60 day visa
Caldera replied to Antony Reece's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You'd ask an airport employee to get an immigration officer for you. I wouldn't recommend heading back to the airport though. Ask your local immigration office if they can correct the stamp. -
Visa run back the same day Poi pet.
Caldera replied to 12Gon's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That hasn't changed, it would be best to go elsewhere. -
What kind of accommodation? Hotel? I'm asking because your TM30 notification is the responsibility of the place where you stay. You'll need to check with them, and the TM30 notification needs to be made before you attend immigration to apply for an extension. You should take the receipt with you; whether or not it's required is hit and miss. At Laksi, you can probably apply for your extension right away. They don't usually send people away for being "too early", but if you want to play it safe, go there 1-2 weeks before your permission to stay expires.

Instead of holding their silly parades "to ensure tourist safety", the Thai police farce should step up their efforts to check the roadworthiness of busses and etc.

Republican George Santos expelled from Congress in bipartisan vote
Caldera replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
Firstly, who cares if you disagree. You aren't a member of Congress. Secondly, this isn't a criminal trial. Good riddance. -
New passaport while in overstay
Caldera replied to Mika78's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No problem to apply for a new passport while on overstay. Plenty of reports about that over the years. Think about it. Why would a foreign embassy in Thailand refuse to issue a passport to an overstayer, considering that a valid passport is required to resolve the overstay with the Thai authorities? -

It's not ambitious, it's ridiculous. -
Thai-Chinese Meeting Addresses Negative Film Impact on Tourism
Caldera replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
What a ridiculous exercise. Instead of "explaining" that the movie "wrongly portrays" Thailand, they should just stop digging. Firstly, while other countries in the region are worse, there is a lot of human trafficking going on in Thailand, and they won't convince the Chinese that it isn't so. Secondly and arguably more importantly, the state of the economy in China and the Chinese policy to promote domestic tourism keep a lot more Chinese tourists away from Thailand than that scary movie. -
Immigration queues Jomtien
Caldera replied to twozeds's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Where's that and how is it relevant to this thread? Can people who need to do business at Jomtien just rock up at your local immigration office instead?
