Please help with overstay?
Caldera replied to greenapples's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Considering that 45 days were given for visa exempt entries until the end of March, I don't understand how you can currently be on an overstay from a 30 day visa exempt entry. Please double check your dates (arrival and permitted to stay until) in your passport. If you do have a relatively short overstay, chances are that immigration would still be willing to give you an extension after paying the overstay fine. -
A little advise needed...
Caldera replied to BillStrangeOgre's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Which border was that? You've got your limits mixed up. You can enter twice per calendar year overland without a visa (visa exempt). You can extend each visa exempt entry once, by 30 days, no matter if you flew in or came overland - so for these extensions, there's a limit of "once per entry", not "twice per calendar year". -

Being from a failing state like the UK, he might have never seen an automatic sliding door in operation before, so you'll have to excuse his confusion. -

Brilliant idea, that should attract quite some voters (based on past performances). ???? -
The office is simply too small for the large number of people they need to be serving nowadays. I don't say something like this very often, but I do actually have some sympathy for those poor souls who have to work in that zoo every day. Going there once in a while really is bad enough, as the OP attests to.

Not possible, no exceptions. You will definitely need your original passport when you apply for an extension. -
Back to back Tourist Visa - Savannahkhet

Just try it and be prepared to enter visa exempt if they won't give you a visa. I think you have a decent chance, as none of your previous visas were issued by them. -
Possibility to use Tourist eVisa?
Caldera replied to trax33's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I think two different things are getting confused here by some posters before. Firstly, eVisas are only available in some countries at this point, and strictly speaking, applicants need to be present in the country where they apply at the time of application, so that the Thai embassy or consulate that issues the visa actually has consular jurisdiction. Applying online in say one's home country while visiting one of Thailand's neighboring countries is at the very least questionable, and the chance of detection is probably higher when entering with a fresh eVisa overland. Secondly, the question of entry with an eVisa at a land border as such. They CAN be used overland, and a good example for people actually doing that without any issues are border bounces by people who have multi-entry eVisas that had been applied for and issued when they were still at home. -
