  1. Not where I am from, so maybe not here either. Why would your insurance want to know ? Just curious mine will pay out quite easy. Unless serious suspicions.. Me dying now (im his age)_ would not be strange. I think im healthy, my blood tests show as much. However you never know. Unless you do indept medical checks and then its still hard.
  2. Hell im a divemaster. I dive a lot seems you got a different idea bout dive instructors then i do. Especially the ones working on the holliday islands. Do you actually dive and hang out with these people ? Because I do and there is nothing special about their fitness.
  3. Yes there is but his friend told he was found in his underwear and a blanket on a sofa. Does not sound like a problem to me. Also they say... we BELIEVE no autopsy has been done. So rumor speculation no facts.
  4. Whatever your family wants is not important. They only do this when its suspicious (just like in my country). But what is suspicious about someone dying in his sleep on a sofa under a blanket in his underewear. Unless clear signs of poisoning or violence there is no need. At least that is how it goes in my country.. but it s more what is the rule in Thailand. I doubt that every body gets an autopsy.
  5. How do we know he was fit and healthy ? Just because its said.. who knows. So much speculation.
  6. In a gold shop sure I don't see why not. Outside in public would be a different thing. But i get what you mean.
  7. British tabloids, i mean all the other deaths have nothing to do with this but are mentioned for the story. People die in their sleep its not strange thing. I don't expect an autopsy if i die in my sleep and there is no sign of violence. This sounds a lot like a storm a teacup.
  8. The difference that in gold shops they don't bother people while when they escort they make use of laws that tpeople should go out of the way of the police (abuse of the laws). If they did this without the sirenes and getting people out of the way it would be ok, now its abuse of power.
  9. I was bullied a bit at school as I was a lot smarter and got good grades. Seems that makes someone a target. The moment your different your a target. I did not really care because I could physically beat them if needed (and i did in one point attacking the ringleader and beating him up). But not everyone is like me. I am a loner by nature so I dont mind not being in the "in" crowd. But really bullying can come from anything, looks, who your parents are , if you come from an other city, new in a class ect. Not everyone is like me a loner so many of those that are bullied hurt a lot as being excluded is something most people hate. It was not a problem for me. Plus the bullying was just in one school as i got higher and people got more serious about their education good grades were no longer a reason for bullying. I was still a loner (by choice)
  10. Got Kasikorn great banking app. I think its the kind of account you have. Other then thatI would not know why you cant have it.
  11. There is no hope for Thailand, no government has ever really gone after corruption. The next government will be the same. You can see it clearly by senators just hopping to where they can get the most benefits without any political allegiance. This just shows they are in it for the money. PTP was hugely corrupt too, Prayut was going to clean that up and failed. Nothing will change besides who gets the money. None of them want a system that is clear and transparant because then they all would loose their benefits and reasons to be in government. Its a sad state of affairs, i do hope that Prayut loses. Maybe the opposition can go after corruption of the Prayut government then. But at the same time they will create their own. So its not a solution but at least some will face jailtime. Better then none at all.
  12. Maybe you should not speculate too much. Kasikorn Bangking app you have to give passwords every time even if its open for a while you will have to give a password again. So what your implying is not correct. I do wonder how just clicking on a link ends up in losing money. Been using bangking aps forever never a problem. But i dont click on sms stuff.
  13. That is what you think but what happens if all the work of guys that are corrupt get investigated and it is found they also did bad things for westerners. ? Also even if they don't investigate it all but these guys get fired.. all of a sudden agents have no contact.. or more expensive contacts. Instead of dismissing it so easy i think there is a change for blowback, how or what.. no clue.
  14. That is assuming that the ones who accept bribes from westerners are different from those who take bribes from Chinese. I would not be so sure that these people are different. Id bet that they are the same and if they get in trouble it might have blowback on the other stuff too. So you your opinion is that the ones who use corruption for retirees are different from those who do it for the Chinese. So two groups of corrupt ones instead of doing both. I think its a wait and see for the blowback.
  15. I dare say you have not been in the Netherlands. Hardly any corruption there in democracy and other fields. Not as divided as the US. So politicians dont protect their own. So id say no corruption is not normal. You are right but now in case of Thailand with no good alternatives (maybe future forward) how can democracy help here against corruption ? Not that the alternative (a coup helped). So basically nothing helps if the culture of corruption is too ingrained. I don't trust the people to vote out corruption (have yo seen it happen in Thailand.. and who is not corrupt ?) But you are right its not the military its responsibility. Lets just say i see things with a bit more gloom then you. I dont see democracy do anything about it in Thailand as the ones benefitting dont want to really combat it and the population is too divided and stand behind their man to look at corruption in their own ranks.
  16. The more i read about it the worse it is. Im convinced all sides buy votes now. Just watching how mercenary Thai MP's are and how they hop from party to party not caring about ideology at all shows its just a big business. None of them, not the current mob or the Thaksin followers will ever do anything to combat corruption as they are all in it for the money and any laws that make that harder and any institute that really investigates wont become reality. Democracy just does not work here. No it does not mean I want more of the current military. Just saying what Thailand is and utterly corrupt country where governing is a business and all about kickbacks. So democracy has failed. Sad but true. So i really dont care much who is in power. The result will be the same anyway.
  17. Comparing Thanathorn with Thaksin and saying its the same clearly shows me your Thaksinite. There is a huge difference between the cases. One is obviously corrupt individual and convicted for it. The other is not indicted for corruption but has something minor used against him. Your too focused on the fight of colors that is so old fashioned. They are all corrupt and none of them do anything to put in place laws that would help against corruption. Thaksin and his club and the current MOB. All they use is corruption against their enemies to get them punished. But at least then some corruption gets punished. Now if the PTP gets in power and they expose some dirty laundry of the current MOB id only applaud this even though they then are just like this mob not really against corruption but just against their enemies. Still it will result in some criminals getting punished for corruption and that is still far better then letting them all go. You will never convince me otherwise. I rather see them all in jail but as you said Thailand is full of corruption and its not going to change. So that is not realistic. All we can hope for is that some of them pay the price even if corruption is just a mean to an end. As for democracy i would not call Thaksin a democrat he was on his way to become a dictator. Currunt mob also not democratic and those idiot senators now.. a disgrace.
  18. Eh please dont compare Thanathorn with the corrupt Thaksinites. One side was really corrupt the other clearly innocent. And i said it before the government did not go after them for corruption. (i guess you dont remember what you reply too). I said they go after them because they are their enemies. They just use corruption for it. So its in a way helping against corruption. Please dont get so annoying and go back to the red vs yellow. Because in my book they are equally corrupt and I absolutely dont support any of them except future forward. ITs clear we wont see eye to eye as your too much of a Thaksinite.
  19. Your analogy goes wrong as i was talking about both corruption cases you now change between murder and jaywalker. My analogy would be rather have a few murderers caught then none at all. In a perfect situation all would be caught of course.
  20. As i said should be caught too.. but because they are not you want Thaksin to run free too. I mean if you let everyone off for corruption nothing will change. I know its not about corruption but it still a small win that at least some get punished. In a perfect world they get all punished. But the alternative is that there is no risk at all ever.. Then i rather have those that are out of grace politically to get caught. At least then some are punished.
  21. Most lockers are in the changing rooms. So i kinda understand why they dont want cctv there. But what a tool to take so much bling with him.
  22. Oh i 100% agree it was not about corruption. But the corruption was committed. It was just them finding dirt on someone. Still that means that some corruption is punished.. if it is all covered up it gets worse and worse. So even though its just used against people who fell out of grace its still better then nothing.
  23. When i read this i think that they just want to get it repaired because of all the kickbacks that they can hide. Also if it is out of service they will get less of a budget. So i think this is not driven from realism but greed.
