Parrot heads of the Carribean, move to Cancun. Gen X prefer Mexico?! Ones, location has a lot to do with what one sees though. From what I see here, we are already in an ‘US expat wave’. A lot of X’ers, but all through the age spectrum, including young millennial bots. They use other social media, easy to miss just how many there are. I can't say I'm overjoyed about it. When my idiot step brother turns up here, I'll know it is time to move on. The much talked about 'Chinese wave', post Wuhan flu, never materialized, much to the shock/dismay of the local real estate industry, boohoo.

Does he rest for a couple days at the medical facility, recover from jet lag, before the royal pardon comes through? -
Thaksin will be “escorted from plane to prison” when he arrives Tuesday

According to Thai media, he is here. Private jet just landed at Don Mueang. -
A small minority? Must live in the tourist zones, or more likely deliberate porkies pies, so common these days. Chiang Mai gate market this morning, easily 80 % + of people had masks on. As this is shopping day I'll be at Rimping Ping river branch in an hour. Expect only 60-70 % there, because of the non thai customers.

Yank Woman Wants Free Drinks In Melbourne
Dcheech replied to LaosLover's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
She could hang out in meat market/pickup bars with Steve Stunning types. Still it's a big stretch to assume these places represent mainstream bar culture in the US, let alone a foreign country. Used to be in the work hard, party hard, set during the 90's. This was most definitely not the norm. You ply them with alcohol, scuse, buy them a drink, after you are chatting them up, and believe the odds in your favor. However as this is from a UK tabloid article, via a TikToker VID, it has to have a hook, (clickbait) in it or you wouldn't bother. Plus it's an article they feel will dovetail to their target audiences deeply held beliefs & prejudices. Gnarf. -
Where to find whole cooked roast/rotisserie chicken?
Dcheech replied to TaiMaiTai's topic in Chiang Mai
Tops, Central Airport. They have them out by 1130 at the latest, everyday. Central Festival market has had them. Do not know if it is everyday. They do have large section cut ups everyday for sure; half a chicken or leg & thigh, if not a full roasted bird. "Tops Food Hall Central Festival" -

Brat dogs are a stand by in CM; Fourth of July and Football. The easy option, when not sure about other 'dogs'. Rimping, for the Brats & a can of Hengstenberg Kraut. Bread from Nana bakery. Assorted condiments and let the guests DIY. BTW thanks to the above posters, I now have an idea of other dogs to buy, . 'Toffee nosed yanks, hard at work crafting Brat dogs for the bon vivant set.'

Part II As I finished my extension at 1140, or Two hours and 20 minutes after I arrived for my scheduled appointment. Exhausted I left, no attempt made to get a multi reentry visa, A week later. Submitting the documents at the check in window, then made to get a TM 30 copy. A new hoop jump. That done, over to the re entry window. Only 4 people waiting. However after servicing two they shut the window and called no one for a solid hour. I was done in little over an hour and a half. However, a panicked older Austrian couple had been there and not called to submit documents, for an hour. They had a flight out early afternoon. We advised them to give it ten more minutes then leave, you can get a re entry at the airport. A real mix between a squirrel cage & ---- show. All in all, this ranks up as one of the worst experiences at immigration since 2019 and the dawn patrol days. As I get older I have less tolerance for this -deleted-. I also have more money, as investments vest. A couple more times like this and I will hire an agent, hang out at Airport Starbucks until I get the call.

Customs concludes the case of counterfeit luxury watch auctions
Dcheech replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Clarity, what a concept. Reading the OP three times, I still not sure I am following the hoop jumps, backward hoop jumps, sideways hoop jumps while balancing on one foot. However, after all that I do feel positive no one in a position of authority was responsible for this unfortunate event, in reality, more a misunderstanding. Isn't that what it is all about? -
On the other hand. I just checked my passport. November 15th 2022. I had a 930 appointment. I was there 15 minutes ahead of time, had my papers checked, given a ticket, and sent over to my area. At 925 I looked at the flat screen que display and noticed there were 24 people ahead of me. No idea what was going on between 830 and 930, but I guess, absolutely nothing. They took their time too, until 1030. I was not called until after 11 and 1130 before I got out. Two hours plus. Basically, the same as it has always been. Lucky, I had brought my e book and tunes, despite all the great stories of how fast it the new reservation system is. Maybe this year. At least I can dream, can't I? I keep thinking about agents BTW.

From what I am reading (always suspect) it is economic issues in China not political instability in Thailand, that slowed the expected china tourist wave. The future appears none to good. From dreams of world domination three years back, pre wuhan flu, to real concerns about employment & the grain harvests in flooded provinces in the north.

If you have ever watched Pence give a speech, or answer questions, he is a serial deflector. He is only answering now because he has to. In any other situation he would give any answer imaginable, except an answer to the question asked. A remarkable spinner of outrageous steer excrement. He is what the better half of the Republican party in the US has become, the other half are far worse.

Yep it is that price, if you are getting it for 20 - 30 then yes way over priced. . https://www.cmmediclinic.com/ This clinic near a pool I use. A member of our morning S&G (swim & gym) squad is using it. She swears by it and yep you can see the results.
-
Why not just buy it in Thailand? Likely far cheaper unless you are getting it per medical insurance.. A clinic I use in CM has it for sale and yes, it is the real product. If they have it here, sure you could find it in Bangkok or Pattaya.

Southern California has the largest Thai population in the world outside of Thailand. Both Steel & Peters congressional districts represent a good portion of that Thai-American population. Given the state or non-state of US Thai relations, it is needed. Too wait for a better moment, could mean waiting for decades.

You might learn something about Thailand, and thai smiles, before including it in your hackneyed cultural platitudes.

The Europeon Recovery Program commonly called the Marshall Plan passed by congress in 1948, would end up costing more than 12 billion dollars in US taxpayer money. That BTW was one of the main arguments against it used by the Taft led Republican party who opposed Trumans program.
