Basmati is promoted as a the best rice by people from the subcontinent, or countries with large Indian population. Garf. The rest of the world thinks different.

Cold season may arrive in mid-November, last just a month
Dcheech replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Always used to first notice it riding home on the bike after Loy Kratong! The Bangkok flood of 11 busted over the river banks in Nakorn Sawan 9 - 12 of October. That is when it let loose, blocked HWY & rail links. No rain to be seen as that was the same exact time the cool season hit. Big blue skies, few clouds, low humidity and big giant puddles of water stretching from NS to north Bangkok. I would get dumb e mails from country of origin; 'It's not raining, looks beautiful, why is it flooding?! What is wrong over there.' Garf. -
Cold season may arrive in mid-November, last just a month
Dcheech replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Strange weather patterns the last couple years. For expats, “cool” for Thailand is dang warm compared to back home. 2021/2 set a record up north for the longest cool season on record. Lots of local expats poo poo-d the news, as it did not have the week or two of real chill weather that the north usually gets. That is when the Thais gang rush to Doi Inthanon for the fog & ice pictures. However, the Thais were indeed correct. 21/22 Thailand was cooler at nights for three months straight. Last year 22/23 was a repeat, only longer, four and a half months. Great for AC bills, a real bummer if you do morning swims. Ouch. The local installed a rooftop of solar panels last year to heat the pool as they had lost a lot of money the previous cool season. Only effective by the afternoons though. Warmer this year? Given the Thai Weather forecasts, I will believe it when it actually happens. -

Found at the TPB BBC Our World Lady of the Hills: The Thai Wife Killing Thai woman was found by walkers in a remote part of the Yorkshire Dales in England. Nothing you do not already know, but of interest. The ex husband is indeed a classic. -
As these guys are 'professional protestors' getting paid for it, yeah, for sure it is in their self interest.

BREAKING NEWS US tourist brutally stabbed to death in Phuket hotel

Perhaps another suicide. -
Ah, so the hostages were seized, not as bargaining chips, as the Israelis are still going to come after them, hostages be dammed. That clears things up. They are holding the remaining hostages for an even more public blood sacrifice, even than the children killing rampage with steel during the first assualt. You have to hand it to the Religion Of Peace, they stay with what they know.

Srettha Slammed For Literally Bowing To Paetongtarn

That 'deserve better' stuff was the line they used in the year of the judicial coup against Yingluck, that before they could get the real coup going. 'We deserve better', it brings a smile. Nope, they really didn't deserve anything better than what they got. Nine years with gang green and another decade gone. -
Governors Told To Push Families To Bring Thai Workers Back From Israel
Dcheech replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Celestial Emperor Xi has spoken, time for his minions to get in line. Thai governors are sent to "persuade" families of the remaining workers, to force them home, even if those that remain do not want to come back. As these are mostly poor, Thailand can pressure families to have members repatriate, while crowing it is for safety, all while downplaying the thirty three (38?) Thai workers slaughtered by Hamas. Thailand quietly take sides, just like they did in the Russia Ukraine conflict. -

First Biden responds to what Americans want, not to what you, a New Zealander, wants. What does everyone say, been saying for years now; the days of American hegemony are over. It's a multi polar world . Yet people do not seem to grasp the realities of that. He can advise Bibi, but Nettie can do whatever he wants to, up to and including attacking Iran. The US can do very little about it, or stop it. They will be on their own in that case, Biden has told Bibi that. He has also told him what could happen if it is a long drawn out occupy/punish Gaza. However Biden, read US, does not have the pull to stop Bibi. The multi polar world, what a concept. Notice how other countries are stepping up to help defuse this situation in true 'multi polar' fashion. Like China, Russia, Saudi, the EU, or the Arab block? You didn't, no excrement! You can expect a whole lot a crouching on the sidelines, wringing of hands & crocodile tears, while doing absolutely nothing, as they calculate how they can best benefit from the situation. Welcome to the future. .
