  1. What a laugh - "could ruin" ! Pattaya's reputation was ruined a long, long time ago. Pissing in the sea - so what! Pee joining turds in the sea.
  2. Please note - the 30$ on arrival or 34$ on line is for your Tourist Visa valid for 30 days. It is not a one off payment to enter Cambodia that goes to the Tourism Authority like Thailand's proposed 300 baht to enter the country appears to be. I remember many years ago when I had to pay 300 baht TO LEAVE Thailand.
  3. Except ALCOHOL - may be he was in Pattaya to experience "beer bars"! Alcohol is not allowed in Pakistan for Muslims. However, if you are non-Muslim you have special license that can be used to buy alchohol. There is no prohibition for non-Muslims. (ref. Google)
  4. Please note "can be used" - not "will be used"! Or to line pockets?
  5. I just completed this quiz. My Score 20/100 My Time 302 seconds
  6. Go-go for a loan???
  7. Not in my case. Right from the start of retirement "up in the sticks" in Lanna, it was the best decision I made and I never regretted it. I eventually moved across to Khon Kaen in Isaan still enjoying my retirement. The lifestyle down south was never of interest to me - other than Kanchanburi and the Burma Railway.
  8. This is a normally very attractive area in the mountains near Chiang Rai where tea and coffee plantations abound - especially at Doi Mae Salong. I wish a speedy return to normality after the landslide devastation.
  9. Must have been an uplifting experience for him!
  10. Having lived near Khon Kaen for several years, there are far better, more attractive and much more central locations than "Bus Terminal 3" which is sited well out of town!!
  11. I just completed this quiz. My Score 40/100 My Time 172 seconds
  12. It all depends on you and your life style - hence so many differing replies. Being a UK "country bumpkin" my area of choice was Lanna and its Provinces of Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao and Lampang with their mountains, forests and lakes. I then moved across to Isaan (Khon Kaen Province) with its rural countryside. Sandy beaches, palm trees, condos, beer bars and prostitutes were of no interest to me. My choice, so no further comment from me.
  13. I just completed this quiz. My Score 40/100 My Time 228 seconds

  16. Maybe now an Indian version of "The King and I"?
  17. RIP young lass with the Angels above.
  18. For the removal of pubic hair rather than a normal haircut??
  19. No. I was a biologist and at that time cases involving explosives were dealt with by a special military forensic unit in South East London.
  20. No, his crimes were investigated by a regional Forensic Science Laboratory in the North of England. I was based in London.
  21. Regretably "no". I left the Met in 1990 to join a Provincial Constabulary, however I may have encountered Mr. Sutton as a junior officer (with respect). Levi Bellfield was apprehended in 2004. Delroy Grant's reign of terror commenced in 1992 until he was found guilty in 2011
  22. Yes indeed. When I was based in London from 1966 to 1990, I helped in the investigation of The Kray Twins, The Richardson Gang, Denis Neilson (the mass murderer) and John Duffy (the railway rapist and murderer of Ann Lock, Alison Day and Marje Tamboezer, the young Dutch girl). I also assisted in the investigation of several terrorist attacks at that time involving Irish and Muslim extremists. Yasser Arafat comes to mind and his highjacking of passenger airplanes for hostages.
  23. From the photo, looks as if the steel remnants lying on the road, suggest steel scaffolding. Bamboo scaffolding would have been more resilient and stable in monsoon type storms. As used in Hong Kong:-
