  1. Had he been chain smoking instead of vaping?
  2. When I was at Hanoi Noi Bai Airport in Vietnam, such rooms were known as "Phong Huts" - very appropriate!!
  3. Same for me. I was retired when I moved to Thailand at the age of 56.
  4. I just completed this quiz. My Score 20/100 My Time 113 seconds
  5. When I lived in Thailand ALL my washing and ironing was done at a local laundry. Same here now in Siem Reap at a local laundry. A large laundry basket of clothes, bedding, linen etc. costs around 5$ (3.80 GBP) to wash and iron (where appropriate). The laundry collects and delivers. Excellent value and no hassle, I just throw the dirty items into the basket.
  6. May be so, BUT why did he and his wife offer apologies to the doctor for their actions (reference) PHUKET – Regarding the case, which made headlines in Thailand, Mr. Fehr, 45, a Swiss citizen who was accused of assaulting a Thai female doctor with a kick, gave a press conference with his Thai wife, Mrs. Sai, at Phuket City Hall on March 1, 2024. They apologised for what they did to Ms.Tharndao Jandam, also known as “Dr.Pai,” a 26-year-old Thai doctor based in Phuket, after she filed a complaint against a Swiss man for allegedly kicking her in the back ... https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/2024/03/01/the-swiss-man-in-phuket-finally-apologises-to-thai-doctor/

  10. I wonder how many buffaloes will become sick in North Thailand?
  11. Chinese built by any chance??
  12. Yes indeed! To hell with growing certificates, sneak into the farm and spray with this "weed" killer - problem with smell instantly resolved!
  13. Sad reading about so many complaints regarding Air Asia's refund hassle after flight cancellations. I regard AA as my favourite budget airline. During the past 10 years, I have made many domestic and international flights with the airline and have NEVER experienced any grief with my bookings which, by the way, were paid for by DD card or with cash at my local 7-11 (when I lived in Thailand). I shall be travelling from Siem Reap (SAI) to Chiang Mai (CNX) this coming November using AA's "Fly Thru" and I hope to expect AA's usual professional service, including a wheelchair. My discount ticket is already booked and I have notified AA of my difficulty in walking long distances.
  14. To add to all the other alternatives, how about "headless body found lying on it's back"?
  15. My God - must have been a strong vindaloo!
  16. Very easy - a brown envelope stuffed with cash!!
  17. Unbelievable - 2011 again?
  18. For all of you who doubt a life sentence, reference from UK drug laws (Google) The amount of drugs found on you and whether you have a criminal record, will be taken into account when a punishment is being decided. The maximum sentences for intent to supply drugs are: up to life in prison, an unlimited fine or both for a Class A drug.

  20. Yes indeed and for those that do not know - an old UK thrupenny bit (I remember them very well being born in 1944 - well before deciimalisation!)
  21. Thanks for replying - it must have been a nightmare for you. I was living up north in Lanna during 2011 and I witnessed the massive flows of water off the mountains. In many places the force of the floods washed away many concrete bridges on the major roads causing headache diversions! Where I lived, the water flowed south, eventually to Bangkok.
  22. Interesting, jugs for me means "jugs of beer" = ears! (cockney slang UK). I do not think I would sit and look at the hairdressers ears! For breasts, cockney slang is "Bristols" = Bristol City FC = "titties"!
  23. With all the flood water soon to reach Bangkok? How many of you remember the Bangkok floods in 2011?
  24. Reasonably priced? Where I lived near Khon Kaen, most of the barber shops in our rural town charged a standard 60 baht!
