  1. I just completed this quiz. My Score 60/100 My Time 232 seconds
  2. This is why I NEVER purchase anything online - except tickets direct from Air Asia which are not fake!
  3. Probably - known as "The Red Bull Syndrome"! RIP Cambodian victim. No doubt there is a grieving Khmer family back home who were dependent on his income - very sad.
  4. In my case YES. I have never owned a smartphone and use my personal computer at a work station in my apartment. All work, business and pleasure, is completed on my PC. I also have an Epson printer for copying all the relevent documents I need. My choice and ideal for me. No further comment.
  5. With respect, I think many of these hipocrites will be deceased by the time there is an HST service from Bangkok through to China (via Vientiane)
  6. IMO the officials should have refilled the packets with salt/sugar etc. and sent them on their way to Australia, notifying the Australian Customs/Police who could then arrest the suspects when the packets were delivered!
  7. Very much so. An alliance of freedom fighter armies wanting democracy to be restored VERSUS the genocidal Junta dictatorship with its terrorist military organisation the Tatmadaw. The Junta has now lost control of Rakhine State in the west. YANGON - Myanmar’s junta is on the verge of being expelled from a westernmost state bordering Bangladesh, according to a new report, marking the one of the biggest military losses since a 2021 coup led to renewed civilian conflict across the country. The Arakan Army has made rapid advances across Rakhine state since November 2023 and is set to create the single largest area controlled by an ethnic armed group since the coup, the International Crisis Group said in a report on Aug 27. Formed in the borderlands of China, the armed group is responsible for some of the military junta’s most decisive battleground losses over the past year. The victories are rallying other ethnic armed groups and pro-democracy fighters to dislodge the military regime led by coup leader-turned-president Min Aung Hlaing. https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/se-asia/myanmar-junta-set-to-lose-restive-state-to-ethnic-armed-group
  8. Like finding illegal Cannabis/Marijuana being smuggled into the UK in suitcases of tourists from Thailand!! Remember, cannabis is officially a banned substance in the UK whatever you potheads may think!
  9. So, what is all the fuss? Just one more turd to add to the many in the sea off Pattaya!
  10. Well I never - the "White Tide Man" (UK 1950's)
  11. I just completed this quiz. My Score 70/100 My Time 195 seconds
  12. I just completed this quiz. My Score 0/100 My Time 11 seconds
  13. F ortunately these days, it is not often I get a bout of "Bangkok Belly" but when I do I take one Imodium tablet and back to normal in 24 hours. With me, it is not normally food that affects me but more likey the ice that is put in my drinks - by dirty hands or the use of contaminated water which is frozen.
  14. With respect, he may then have "sleep walked" out into the street and been killed in a road accident.
  15. No Greathead Shield being used to prevent such collapses??
  16. At last, maybe "roast lamb with mint sauce" appearing on the UK ex-pat menus!! Not only in Pattaya but throughout Thailand where it is always roast beef, pork or chicken - never lamb. Frozen lamb is available in MAKRO I believe? I do know Thai people do not like lamb which is regarded as "stinky meat".
  17. Oh really - "shockwaves" what a laugh! On an island where sex tourism is a major money earner. Shockwaves:
  18. When I lived in Thailand almost 5 years ago, and being an insulin dependent Type 2 diabetic, my Thai doctor prescribed - Amlopin 5mg (2x daily, am/pm) and Angilock 50mg (one daily am). This is approved by my Khmer doctor and I continue with the same prescription.
  19. I must admit when I scanned the headlines this morning I thought I read "pirates" not "patients' - how wrong I was!
  20. Republic of Ireland (Eire) 2024: Canabbis-induced psychosis featured in five murder cases before the courts last year amid warnings more young people are becoming addicted to the increasingly potent drug. The revelation comes after Garda Commissioner Drew Harris recently warned that higher-strength cannabis is causing psychosis and long-term mental health issues. https://extra.ie/2024/04/07/news/cannabis-murder-case Get real man!!
  21. Very tragic RIP. The five Chinese were tourists from Hong Kong. In addition to the pilot and co-pilot, the other 2 Thais were cabin crew. https://uk.yahoo.com/news/9-passengers-crew-feared-dead-043829183.html
  22. Decrepit old fool - he needs to go to the Knackers Yard!
  23. With respect, how wrong you are! I now live in Cambodia and have done so for the past 4 years. I lived in Thailand for 20 years and moved across the border when Thailand's visa system became a nightmare with all the associated financial bureaucracy. I am certainly not skint (as you suggest), receiving a UK State Pension and 2 additional index linked UK Police Service Pensions. I have a nice regular income which provides me with a comfortable and hassle free life. Thailand does not provide a hassle free life - that is why I moved. I do visit Chiang Mai and Khon Kaen to visit old friends on short-break visa free holidays. IMO the Khmer people are far more friendly than the Thais. I enjoy a quiet life and I do not need sandy beaches, beer bars, prostitutes, night clubs etc. etc. - my choice! Regarding your statement above, may I suggest you put "brain into gear" before stating such rubbish! No further comment from me.
  24. Please excuse my ignorance, but I am sure there is no weekly service from Malaysia through Thailand to China! Malaysia to Bangkok (metre gauge) - yes! Bangkok to Vientiane (metre gauge) - yes! Vientiane to China (standard gauge with HST electric trains) - yes!
