  1. Sadly, no crash helmet?? RIP young pillion passenger.
  2. Well done lass. Keeping in with "spirit" of the occasion!!
  3. Are you commenting from personal experience? As a retired forensic expert with the UK Police Service and 20 years residence in the rural North of Thailand, I find your comments offensive if you are referring to Thailand in general, if just Pattaya then no further comment from me as I hated the resort - just 2 overnight visits in 20 years!
  4. Unfortunately "NO". I cannot swim and do not like the sea!
  5. Perhaps symbolizing they work as cashiers????
  6. I was quoting a reference from an article printed in a Thailand Tourism publication warning tourists about "Jet Ski Scams" I did not "buy into" what was stated.
  7. For reference:- The Thai jet ski scam is actually quite a simple one. A foreigner rents a jet ski in Pattaya or Phuket for an hour or two and goes off to have fun. When he returns the jet ski, the owner tells him it now has damage on it that it didn’t have before he rented it, and will often even produce photographs to prove it.............the photographs have been photoshopped while the poor unsuspecting tourist is off having fun on his jet ski but now the Thai owner wants 40,000 baht ($1,300) to pay for the cost of the damage.........this is often done in an intimidating manner and with a group of Thai men hanging around looking threatening................ simply pay up just to avoid being harassed or threatened........................ https://tastythailand.com/do-not-rent-jet-skis-in-thailand-its-famous-for-jet-ski-scams/#:~:text=The Thai jet ski scam, produce photographs to prove it.
  8. An interesting "diversionary" route to the storage facilities in Phrae and Ayutthaya Provinces. Wiang Pa Pao is located on route 118 which links Chiang Rai with Chiang Mai thus by-passing most of Highway 1 with its known permanent road check-points. Then by using Routes 120, 103 and 101 Phrae can be reached. Continuing on 101 to Den Chai, route 11 is joined and thus an alternative route south to Ayutthaya, again avoiding most of Highway 1. Coincidentally, a similar haul of 6 million methamphetamine pills was seized last year in Wiang Pa Pao. (September 2022) "Mae Suay police later stopped the other car on the highway between Tha Ko and Wiang Pa Pao....... the motorist abandoned 31 bags holding 6 million meth pills" https://www.chiangraitimes.com/news/chiang-rai-police-chase/
  9. And the red cities of the North.
  10. Welcome back Sir, and thank you for bringing the North of Thailand (Lanna and Isaan), with us country bumpkins, into the 21st Century!! This has always been "sour grapes" with the southern "establishment".
  11. Great - gives other countries a chance of winning a medal. None to Thailand 55555!!
  12. Has the Russian Ambassador been expelled from Estonia in retaliation??
  13. If they change their minds, Burmese migrant workers "watch your backs"!!
  14. With apologies, another goon contributing:- Farce Fleecing Foul Fateful Frightening

  16. With the greatest respect, passport I understand but do you not carry a wallet that may contain in addition to your money:- Your name/address (in case lost or stolen) A bank card Covid-19 vaccination record (here in Cambodia we get a plastic card with URN-QR code) Club membership card MAKRO or other supermarket card and so on....? I always have my wallet with me when I go out.
