Everyone sitting around tables last night in our village getting sloshed will have such a hangover they probably won't want to drink today, they stock up on booze from the inside. :drunk::burp:    i couldn't stop to stock up at mar and pars last night had a tyre going down with a huge screw in it. Damit! Should still be able to buy today though they kept selling all through the ban. bless them.

I would try  using the "dumb foreigner" ploy  just turn up at the DLT early and get a queue number the old fashioned way...I believe they are prioritising  those with app appointments but  you still may get lucky  on the day you turn up...as for  "residence" certificate   you can try  "opening a new bank account" or

"buying a vehicle" as the reason for them to issue one.

Someone on here suggested that the DLT in Siracha  was better  either for  changing vehicle details or issuing driving licences but can't remember witch was which ????

This is exactly what i did 3 hr. trip to my DLT, i knew nothing about an app., my wife rang before "yes come" gave all my docs ( i have yellow book) "All OK they are genuine now come back next week put your name in the book date and time was given and a Que number. Immigration will give a Res Cert for renewing a DL. I chose a different office this time, reason yellow book not excepted must have Res Cert as they still go on a 20yr old document You can trust Thailand init .

Also i did not need a med cert. 2nd time 5yr DL.

  3. Once happened to my wife and I, years ago, when travelling on a big bus, as a truck mechanic in a previous life, i started to hear a noise from a rear wheel, got the missus to go tell the driver who was wearing earphones, to stop the bus, he wasn't having any of it, eventually her nagging got to him, stopped the bus and found that an outside rear tyre was flat, we all waited until the bloke came and changed it. After, several falangs on the bus, thanked us for potentially preventing what could have been a fatal accident.

That is nonsense IMO. I think she was just making an excuse for not doing it.

As far as I know you do not need to renew your license now. I can recall them allowing several months before you have to renew them.

If you are married to or the parent of a Thai you could apply for a 60 day extension to visit them.

My wife was told on the phone no need until end of Oct as i don't trust anything they tell me, re-newed mine last week.

400 baht expensive for renting a motorbike? Heck 15 years ago you paid 300 anywhere on mainland for a day to day rental, and 2500 for a mont for a decent newer bike.

Btw where you park your car or motorbike on mainland if heading down to Koh Kood?

If you take the boat from Laem Ngop there is a large car park near the lighthouse and pier has a new toilet block , not sure if you need to buy the boat ticket in Trat though. If you overnight in Trat you could keep your vehicle there, ticket could/may include transport to boat. In low season the boats may not run due to weather conditions. Ferry's to koh chang now are only every 2 hrs. from Center-point but always run. no charge to take car on this at the moment.  M/c on koh chang are 250 baht a day.
