  1. What do you want to watch?

For very little money you can get HD capable receivers with usb port(s) so you can even use it as a mediaplayer and/or use it as a pvr.

Skybox and openbox spring to mind.

Guess over there you're lookin at 2000-2500 Baht for such a receiver.

Sent from my GT-I9001 using Thaivisa Connect App

Hi want to watch Lotus movies from Macau also theres Al Jazeere news, Asia News and a few others English channels, got a really lousy internet connection at home so anything that needs a connection is a no no, got a WD live hub and I can only use half the functions, so I just need a bog standard reciever that'll pick up Asiasat.

    Cheers,

  2. I'm not so sure about this. Take kids who are violent, have problems with authority, give them weapons and live ammo... and then tell them that their squad is better, stronger, and tougher than other squads. Possible disaster in the making.

There was a series on UK Tv years ago called Lads Army, they took towrags and put them through the national conscription programme from the 50's, at the start one kid said he'd been to every kind of institution and this would be a doddle. He didn't even last a day as they filmed him climbing over a fenceand running down the road saying he couldn't take anymore.

At the end of the series a lot of them joined up and got there lives on track.

  3. Cheers for the tips. Just spoke on the phone with a mate who informed me that there is apparently a direct shuttle-bus from Mo Chit to Swampy for around 150 baht....don't think he's taken any international flights for quite some time though so that may well have changed. Anybody know if it's still on the go? Will just check it out at the Information centre anyhow. He said the second best option is to take the Skytrain as you suggested already. Cheers.

The Airport shuttle still runs, leaves from stand 9 at Mo Chit I see it there everytime I go back home, sorry don't know the price or frequency.

  4. Tesco at Rama 9 sell a few of them also it's inside Fortune Town where they sell hundreds, bit of advice try to get one where you can upgrade the firmware.

    Good luck.

    Try Wd player (Western Digital)

  5. Thanks for the interest I've got till next Tuesday so think I'll go back then and have another look around, not looking to spend a fortune about 2,000 baht or so for a small one if not I'll buy the one up home,

One shop I asked had a 12 inch approx Golden Arowana (the variety I didn't want) asked him the price and he put 850 on the calculator me debating whether to buy it or not confirmed the price in Thai with him to which he replied no no 85,500 baht........three steps back from the fish tank and mind your step out the door.

  6. Looking for a Gold Dragon fish "Mangon Tong On" or Arowana, I'm looking for the type with the long fins the ones that do look like a dragon but all I can find are silver. Lots of the other style with the shorter fins at really amazing prices.

Seen one up home in Buriram about six inches long for 2,000 baht but thought I'd look around Bangkok while I'm here.

    Cheers,

  7. Hi Just wanted to know if anyone has experience of travelling by bus to Bangkok lately with all the flooded areas I know their taking a different route but not much idea on the travel time.

    Any info greatly appreciated.

  8. Try www.Chinatownboutiquehotel.com around 900-1000 baht per night nice'n'clean and lots to keep you busy. I use it to go to the Thai Embassy don't know if thats near yours but easy to take one of two monorails only a few minutes walk away from the hotel, Pasar Seni station to Amphang Park for the Thai Embassy takes 5 mins and about 20 baht. Theres lots of Embassies around that area so maybe yours maybe too.

  9. Thanks for the replies after searching hi and low in Bangkok we have some friends coming over for Xmas so we've decided to send them a few pics of our living room and ask them to buy us some wallpaper border (by the way it's the decorative strip usually about 6 inches deep that goes on top of dado rails)it's strange but Korat Home Pro sold it but didn't have enough in stock for our needs.

    Once again thanks.

  10. Thought I might get a better response to my problem here, I'm in Bangkok at the moment and trying to find a shop that sells wallpaper border (the sort that goes above dado rails) without success. I've tried two Homepros stores and Boonthavorn but nothing, also looking for clothes dye but same success I'm afraid.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  11. I'm sure you can buy a PSI system for around 3,000 baht and get it set to Asiasat 3, this gives you an Australian channel mostly old stuff (sorry can't remember the name, Asia News in English, Lotus movie channel in English, Al Jazeera English, V TV music videos and a few German, French Chines channels.

  12. Just a quick update don't know if it's just coincidence but since she started with the new mix of food we've gone from four eggs a day to (as of today)to twenty two eggs a day. Not really sure how it's happened just nice to see my wife feeling chuffed with herself.

    Thank for all the input.

    Cheers,

    Kev.

  13. Thanks for the input guys, the wifes started feeding them pellet food with the rice ram and some other stuff which she's been told is for the shell so I take it thats calcium. If nothing else it puts a smile on her face everytime she finds one of the four eggs every morning.

I'll be sure to post and let you know when we reach a magical dozen per day.......or where you can buy cheap roast duck.
