  1. Not really Sukhumvit but not too far away either. There are a couple of shops that do repairs in Seacon Center. On the floor where they have loads of stalls near the cinemas.

    I have a Q here.

A "BB" gun? What type, the little plastic "bbs?" Or real ones of .177 cal?

I have two lf the latter that need repairs but do wonder about the legality of them. BTW, neither are CO2 powered, one is air pump and the other spring powered.

    Mac

It's a plastic pellet gun not much power as I wouldn't want to do any damage to the chickens and a 1.77 would kill them. Heard theres a few shops in Chinatown that sell airguns maybe someone can give youa bit more info but I not sure if you need a license for them.

Thanks I'll give it a go tomorrow, it's not much wrong really I think it's the rubber gasket inside as if I put plumbers tape around it seals for a while.

  3. Got one of those BB Gas filled air guns great for keeping the chickens and dogs and the odd cow off our drive but the magazine has started to leak (gas hissing out) I'm in the Sukhumvit area this week and wondered if anyone knew of a place that'll repair it in the area.

    Thanks in advance.

  4. Why don't they take their 30 billion baht and use it to improve the lifestyle of the farmers out in the countryside. Everything seems to revolve around Bangkok and to the people living up there you might as well just have poured that money down the drain.

Have they seen the state of the roads up here or how about using it to give the poor people some of that land that the government are stiing on doing nothing and give them a chance to fend for themselves rather than having to rely on "heroes" to fight their case for them.

Theres more to Thailand than Bangkok.

  5. Not all double glazed units are gas filled unless it's really noisy no need to go to the extra expense. Have you looked at the seals on your windows if there are gaps between the rubber seals then join them together with a drop of superglue (on the seals not the frames). If your going to use secondary glazing then they'll probably be sliding units which don't work so well with noise as you can't get a good seal. If your current windows are UPVC then maybe you can change the windows not the frames to double glazed units.

  6. When I watch movies using usb plugged into my dvd player sometimes the picture starts to stutter for want of a better word and the sound goes out of sync. I'm using a Kingston 4 gig stick if I used one of the faster usb's would it make any difference and also anybody with one of the media boxes do you get the same problem using them as I'm thinking of investing in one.

    Thanks.

  7. Funniest thing I ever saw wasn't here but in Hong Kong New Terotories back in 1978. Driving at night and by the side of the road is a group of people standing round a fire with an oil drum on placed and a guy busy getting into the said oil drum. I always wish I had stopped to find out what was going on as it still has me thinking 32 years later.

  8. I ran utorrent for a long time without port forward and didn't have any problems, but because it kept saying you need to open a port I thought I would give it a go. I get right to the end and think I have done everything right but still it doesn't open a port. I wish I had left well alone now as I haven't got any connection at all. I think somewhere along the line I have checked or unchecked the wrong boxes,

either in windows firewall or utorrent connections, but I can't remember what the connections were before I started!

I have thought about getting my IT guy round but him being Thai I'm not sure he would understand about torrents. What do you think?

    W.

How about removing Utorrent, restore your computer to a date before you made the changes then download Utorrent again not sure if it'll work but easy enough to try.

  9. I've tried all the apps to boost the abysmal sound I get out of my 2G and nothing works searched the net and came across this on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXDYoNXFwl8 It may sound drastic but it does work very well what you do is pierce the speaker cover holes with a needle, I've heard about it before but thought what a crazy thing to do but lots of people on YouTube praised it so I thought give it a go ( what's the worst that could happen I'd have an excuse to buy a new 4.0,) it works amazingly well just been on Sukhumvit Road with all the traffic noise and could still hear the dial tones when I made a call.

  10. You've got to watch Agoda rates, a friend of mine had their hotel on Agodas website checked it one day only to find they'd put the rack rate up by 60 percent to make their price look even better without asking for permission to do so. Lots of better sites around where you only need to pay ten percent deposit instead of all up front with them.

  11. "We advise you to exercise caution and monitor developments that might affect your safety because of the risk of terrorist attack.

Pay close attention to your personal security and monitor the media for information about possible new safety or security threats."

No this isn't their warning for Thailand it's for the UK. They give the same warning level for Thailand as they do for Burma and don't even think of going to Bali.

Probably have a little man in a back office never been outside of Australia watching CNN all day.
