At the moment there is a 10,000 euro difference in producing an EV in China rather than the EU or the UK Currently there is a 10% tariff imposed on all cars entering the EU from China Even with the 10% tariff imposed it still works out cheaper for Brands to build in China and import VW, Tesla, BMW and Renault are already buildings cars in China for the European market citing lack of spare production facilities in Europe PwC recently predicted automakers will sell 800,000 cars imported into Europe from China. https://www.autonews.com/china/chinas-ev-exports-europe-will-soar-2025-report-says

Are you thinking of buying a BYD EV?
vinny41 replied to DUNROAMIN's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I wouldn't take the end of November as written it stone it may finished before that There is a proposal to extend under a different subsidy model but some manufacturers are not happy and are stating it unfair as their costs will increase once they start local production https://www.prachachat.net/motoring/news-1383716#:~:text=ส่วนมาตรการ อีวี 3.5,ขยายต่อแพ็กเกจ https://www.blockdit.com/posts/65099284f652eaede52aa7f5 -

My understanding is that the manufacturer sells you the vehicle at the price including the subsidy but the manufacturer only receives reimbursement once the car is registered and you have your white plate hence the end of September deadline for MG and the end of November deadline for BYD. Both manufacturers have to be confident that they can deliver and register the vehicle before the end of this year -

Yet to see any electric commercial vehicle available as mass market if Thailand was to follow NZ example and add extra taxes all those taxes would be passed back to the consumer. Thailand also subsidises EV is that because they wouldn't sell without the subsidy

Later in September last year, SAIC announced that it would team up with CATL to tap into battery swapping business. The Rising Auto R7 was the first vehicle from SAIC to offer battery swap technology, with Roewe, MG, and Maxus brands following suit. https://carnewschina.com/2023/04/12/maxus-mifa-7-mpv-revealed-in-china-with-swappable-catl-battery/#:~:text=Later in September last year, and Maxus brands following suit. We should also mention that the Rising F7 can be bought without battery. The thing is this liftback is available to swap batteries. As a result, you can get a battery subscription for 1,260 – 1,560 yuan (170 – 215 USD), depending on the battery capacity. As a result, the price range of the F7 will be reduced to 136,900 – 196,400 yuan (18,770 – 27,000 USD) https://carnewschina.com/2023/08/28/saics-rising-auto-joined-price-war-in-china-rising-f7-price-sliced-by-2750-usd/ Will they expand Battery swapping stations to Thailand I guess we will have to wait and see so you have the choice of buying ev with battery or without battery and paying a battery subscription

Services that are free to everyone Some services or treatments carried out in an NHS hospital are exempt from charges, so they're free to all. If you're visiting England for less than 6 months, you should ensure you're covered for healthcare through personal medical insurance during your visit, even if you're a former UK resident. If you're not ordinarily resident in the UK and you need to pay for NHS hospital treatment, you'll be charged at 150% of the national NHS rate. https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/visiting-or-moving-to-england/how-to-access-nhs-services-in-england-if-you-are-visiting-from-abroad/ Hospital services Hospital treatment is free to people who are "ordinarily resident" in the UK. To be considered ordinarily resident and entitled to free hospital treatment, you must be living in the UK on a lawful and properly settled basis for the time being. You may be asked to prove this -

EU’s Common Agricultural Policy: Today the CAP accounts for about 40% of the EU’s budget. It remains the EU’s most integrated policy, i.e., the one with the most decisions made at the EU level. Nationally, France is the country that benefits the most from the CAP funding, followed by Germany and Spain. Overall, farmers in the 15 older EU member states benefit much more from the CAP than the newer members, as their farmers get larger payments per hectare. https://www.slowfood.com/eus-common-agricultural-policy-key-things-you-should-know/ Here are the reasons why the EU feel the need for urgent reform "If Ukraine joins the EU, most member states will suddenly become net contributors and will not get any more money and everything will move toward the east," Costa explained, "so if we want to fix that situation, we need more budget." Countries such as Ukraine and Turkey both huge Agricultural countries would considerably reduce the amount of funding that France, Germany and Spanish farmers receive https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2023/09/19/germany-france-present-eu-reform-proposal-as-bloc-prepares-for-new-members -

And the Law states that “…where the primary need is a health need, then the responsibility is that of the NHS, even when the individual has been placed in a home by a local authority.” I am sure you are aware that some NHS Trusts have been trying to discharge their responsibilities of primary health care ( NHS funded ) to social care ( Means tested) There is a well known Law Case Coughlan Case which the then Labour government tried to appeal against the ruling but were unsuccessful in their appeal -

associate members would not be represented in the EP or the Commission but have speaking without voting rights in the Council and would be offered associate membership in relevant EU agencies. They would fall under the jurisdiction of the CJEU. Associate members would pay into the EU budget but on a lower level (e.g., for common institutional costs), with lower benefits (e.g., no access to cohesion and agricultural funds). -

It should be pointed out this suggestion hasn't come from the EU its The paper has been written by an official “Franco-German working group on EU institutional reform”, made up of experts, academics and lawyers, set up by both the French and German governments earlier this year Here another group that are looking to move key decisions away from member states and expand the powers of the EU commission The draft also proposes renaming the European Commission the “European Executive” and drastically expanding the powers of Parliament, as well as granting EU institutions exclusive competence — or the right to negotiate on behalf of its members — to decide on environmental and climate matters. https://www.politico.eu/article/eu-lawmakers-pitch-far-reaching-treaty-reform-plan/ Europe has been talking about reform since 2006 so anyone thinking there will be a quick decision should think again -
