  1. Ask them how many Thais need/want a FC Account. Try another bank.
  2. Did mine at Bkk Bank in Pattaya , near Immi. 5 years ago . No WP, retirement extn. And can be used for 800k purposes. But watch the exchange rate if you are on the edge of 800. Make it 900k to be on safe side.
  3. Back to Air Fryers. I watched a Channel 5 documentary with Alexis Conran who was comparing three Air Fryers, one was 60 quid, one 150, and the Ninja @ 200. Had three noobies using them. First was chips from real potatoes. They each only finished up, after 20 odd minutes, with one portion each, the cheapest AF getting best taste results. Then a 'stir fry with veg, prawns sauce and noodles'. The one portion each finished up with took longer than doing in a wok on the gas. Finally a Victoria Sponge each one producing two one-portion cakes. Why they didn't use the same batter for all the cakes so that it was the actual AF was the only difference I don't know. One man said that he cooked a full Xmas dinner in one. Surely he would have to keep the cooked items warm as he cooked the other stuff. My Conclusion on AFs. OK if you have very limited space, eat one-pot meals, and have money to spare. Anyone use one of those halogen/ glass bowl type cookers?
  4. Rather off topic Mr L. Sorry no it isn't. This started off as hobbies, but then transformed to Air Fryers.
  5. Yes, you are correct, I was wrong. Money paid into a Pension Fund, be it State or Private is not taxed.
  6. So folks, make sure you take your Tax Clearance Certificated with you on your weekend to Cambodia or when you go to do your Retirement/Marriage Extension, just in case an Immigration Officer decides to enforce the current laws.
  7. Try running something like Glary Utilities to clean up all the 5..t in your PC. Make sure your network card is set to 1GB/s in Device Manager.
  8. Correct. But any funds you transfer for living expenses etc WILL be assessable for tax next year.
  9. But of course, a bit more difficult to transport anywhere. Stop talking rubbish please Gamma.
  10. Totally agree Mr Next.
  11. No there is not. The SSD and RAM are easily accessible without taking the ribbons for the keyboard and mousepad off if you are careful. If not, they go back easily. Well that's on my Asus Vivobook.
  12. What a great song. Never heard it before. Could use it in an ad for this.
  13. If that's what you think, OK. I totally disagree with your first statement though. So if you start with say 16GB RAM, plenty plenty for W11, and are very careful when you open it up to clean your fan, it should last just as long as one with 4GB RAM using Linux.
  14. Marmaalde were a really great band, originally called The Gaylords! Saw them in UK in 1968 supporting a band called Ambrose Slade! And then in a pub in Germany in 1978 in their 'leaner' years.
  15. These BeeLink are good PCs from personal family experience.
  16. Thanks Mike, and get well soon. I did read it carefully, and have come to the conclusion that what my Taxman told me is correct.
  17. How and why would the OS affect the longevity of a laptop please?
  18. Yes it certainly is unfair. 65k x 12 = 780k. There is a Old Person's 190k allowance, plus 60k = 250k. Then the first 150k is at 0% tax, and then 150 - 300k at 5%. So you are liable for 5% on 300k plus 10% on 80k. Total tax = 15k + 8k = 23k for the year. Figures given to me by my local Tax Inspector. Got it in writing.
  19. So what please is the situation if the transfers ARE made from savings earned before 1 Jan 2024? The Simple Tax Guide was not so simple, for me anyway. The figures I quoted earlier were those given to me by my local Tax Inspector.
  20. Only filed last October 2023 with help from local Taxman. Told him exactly the truth, only my UK State Pension was being transferred (they accept the Combo Method at my IO). The details I posted earlier are exactly what he told and wrote down for me. I am happy with that. My pension goes into my Wise GBP account, and is transferred in THB on 1st of each month.
  21. How would Somchai Taxman know, or be able to find out without legal permission. Just tell them it was from 2002.
  22. From the first post.....Ms. Urai Phorn
  23. Confusing. Quote from Simple Tax Doc. If we take the simplest type of income and say that you transfer personal savings from overseas to Thailand and those savings were earned before 1 January 2024, those funds are not taxable
