  1. Read my post again. The first time was to replace an apparently hacked Card. Over the weekend we decided to open a joint account so that when I kick the bucket she can LEGALLY have access to the funds in it. I never thought that because I am not Thai, I would not be able to add this Joint account to my online and telephone banking, hence the return yesterday, when that problem was sorted out. My partner is also quite capable of opening her own accounts at any bank, I have explained why we wanted a Joint account. I did not choose to live far from the bank, it was they who decided to close down the local one.
  2. I listen to it before every Manchester City game. hasn't done much good this season.
  3. And whilst on this subject, I had to go to Bkk Bank last Friday to get a new Debit ATM card as they had noticed a Bht 0.00 transaction from Microsoft. I signed 5 papers to cancel the old card, and another to get the new one. TWO copies of my passport were taken, one sided only of course. There was no charge. Yesterday we went again to open a Joint account when another copy of my passport, and her ID was taken, five papers for each of us to sign, and pay Bht 400 to get an ATM card. However, when I got home I could not add this new account to my online and phone banking apps, getting a message to say that I must go to my local branch as I am a foreigner. So today another 65km round trip to the bank, get my passport and her ID copied AGAIN five papers each to sign, to be told that the papers will now be sent to head office, and I should be able to get online in a week. Progress in the Banking industry...I think not.
  4. Asked this at my Bkk Branch and they looked at me like I was POTUS!
  5. In a joint account, ALL the funds are available to either of the names on the account, not 50/50.
  6. But if it is a Joint account, can she only lay claim to half of it. YOUR 800k stays until Mr Probate says that she can have it. I am only trying to get my ducks in a row for when the Grim One comes for me.
  7. Ha ha ha. Wish I had 1.6M sitting doing nowt.
  8. Yes, that's the way it should work. In the past 4 years or so, using WISE to Bkk Bank, only once did it go via Kasikorn so arrived in Bkk as 'from another Bank'. As you said, I went to Kasikorn to get a Credit Advice, something they had never heard of before, three hours sitting in the branch while they spoke to the HQ, then a hour or so for the Advice to arrive. Obviously accepted by Immigration or maybe they never noticed or bothered. I called WISE and made sure that my account was 'tagged' to ensure that all transfers to Thailand went directly to my Bkk Bank. Hasn't failed since.
  9. Must be the difference between Kasikorn and Bkk Bank. Does the Kasikorn say it is an International (Foreign) Transfer as Bkk say FTT code.
  10. Because I ticked the "Long Stay' option, so a human being (Thai type) is involved. I set up another transfer and ticked '"Family etc". That would have been instant. I cancelled both transfers.
  11. MIRACID is a brand name for Omeprazole, which can be bought at almost any pharmacy, and much cheaper, Bht 20 for 10.
  12. I registered using the Mrs's ID and Blue Book four years ago, in which time I have stayed at numerous hotels in Thailand, trips to UAE and UK on re-entry permits, and three Extensions re-Retirement, Combination Method. Last Extension time the nice IO said that the print of my TM30 was getting a bit tatty, so printed a new one for me.
  13. In my case, sending to Bkk Bank, the Long Term option is still there, hidden as the last option in the list, as it always has been. Just tried a Bht 1000 to Bkk Bank, and it says it will arrive, as usual, at 14.03 tomorrow and cost Bht 44.34. Maybe Kasikorn is different.
  14. Does it not take an extra day to arrive in K Bank because you ticked For Long Stay Purposes, and so it is then noted as an International Transfer, as it does with Bkk Bank.
  15. I do exactly the same, Wise to my 'Monthly' account, immediately then into our Joint account, available to either of us. However last time I re-newed my Extension, MISS IO, asked that next year the 12th transfer be left in the Monthly account until the Extension was done. WHY? TIT!
  16. Hi Will, it is so easy to get on my ignore list. 6-0 and fourth.
  17. I pay 80 quid a year for Microsoft 365 which gives 5 of my family 100 minutes of Skype calls almost anywhere, and 1GB of One Drive cloud storage.
  18. I have taken my Vigo every time to Toyota, probably paid over the odds, BUT nothing has ever gone wrong with it. Original tyres did 96000 km, 2nd set of Maxxiss 78000, and this third lot over 80000. They rotate and balance them for free every 10000 km, and give free coffee. I need new brake discs and shoes this time, and Maxxiss were a couple of thousand cheaper, as was Cockpit's quote, but I shall let Toyota do it so I know the parts are genuine.
  19. For the last 2 x 10,000 km services at Toyota, they said a new battery was needed. I am going next week for it's 250,000 km one, the 3rd battery is still good, as are the tyres which were suggested to be replaced. Maxxiss said they were godd for another 5-10,000 km.
  20. WRONG! And don't use the word 'reason' in a post regarding Immigration, 555 In a joint account it ALL belongs to whoever takes it out !
  21. I have transferred everything from MY current account to the Joint one...........but I keep the ATM card, and she cannot do Telephone or Online Banking !
  22. Immigration WILL NOT accept a Joint Account for the Extension deposit.
  23. Will is done and dusted, all money in all Thai joint accounts goes to her immediately, before Probate, account numbers mentioned in the Will. It's the immigration money I want her to have a s a p.
  24. She can legally empty the Joint account, it's the Immigration Deposit I want to protect.
