Just done my usualy monthly transfer for Mr IO's benefit. Started it yesterday and, as usual, got the message that it will be sent today at 10.00, arriving at 14.05ish. It was paid out at 09.04, but with the proviso that 'Banks can be slow and it could take them 6 hours to process your transfer, receiving at 14.13. Why this delay when a smaller amount, NOT tagged as for Long Term Stay in Thailand arrives immediately? Does one of the dopey girls (usually) have to manually see the transfer and then manually deposit it into my account?

My Online UK banking apps can be used in Thailand, Barclays, N'wide, Tesco, & Virgin.

Opera does not have a UK server. My Barclays, and maybe Nationwide app, have virtual card readers built in. As for UK bank sending to Thai bank, the obvious one is WISE, or Revolut. All UK banks will be able to do SWIFT transfers, but that's more expensive and takes 4 or 5 days, at a lousy exchange rate. But if the UK want to send you an OTP, it must be to a UK number, which receives the messages no problem as long as that phone is switched on.
