  1. Stop drinking the stuff, better stilkl stop drinking PERIOD, bet you will never feel better after a few days off the hard stuff your Liver/Kidney will think you so MUCH, do it NOW! :D:):D

Have you been drinking? :D :D

  2. OK, no worries. Apologies for any misunderstanding. When I first read the OP, my first thought was Uh Oh, people are going to think this is me as I have acquired this identify as the King of baht bus kvetchers.

Nope, not at all.. I enjoy reading about your Baht bus adventures. Sorry for the misunderstanding!

  3. Jingthing?

    What is your point?

I took this as an accusation that I was posting as another identity (NO!) and/or a solicitation for a comment (sure, why not).

No, That was not at all an accusation of you posting under another ID. As I read the OP, I saw you reading also, and since you have some interesting encounters with the baht buses I was looking forward to your reply.

I was praising you for reporting about the recent pick pocketing incident you had last week on another thread, after other posters continuously picked on your story, I wouldn't then just go and accuse you of being someone else.. :) You have some interesting experiences to tell, thats all.

  4. Interesting price.. The cheapest I have seen elsewhere is 7,000 baht so 3,900 is definitely a good deal. But is it too good to be true? I wonder, whats the catch? If anyone has any experience with this place, please post!

  5. I used the Bus to Bangkok yesterday, the bus actually left a few minutes early rather than late.. Same on the way back today. I did notice yesterday at Pattaya Nua station, though, that the big board showing the next bus times where you wait for the bus was off . Only the large clock at the top was on. Maybe something wrong with their system?

  6. Thanks for the warning! I'm planning on going to Bangkok today for my birthday.. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they have sorted out the problem now.. I last used their service last Sunday with no problems.

Nice to know this service isn't so reliable after all. I have always relied on them when I needed to get to Bangkok.

  7. Same as in a nightclub or disco. I go in, busting for the loo, join the long queue, and a Thai girl/lady walks in, times it well to run to the front of the queue, and then literally runs into the door of the toilet as the previous lady has opened it.

I have experienced this A LOT in the ladies toilets in any of the night clubs I go to.. I usually try to stand in the middle of the isle instead of waiting in a queue near the wall, so that no-one can push in front of me. Very, very annoying...

  8. I've had this a couple of times in my local 7/11.

The first time happened when I was next in the queue at the till and some lady barged in through the door shouts at the assistant that she wants something from behind the counter now!! The assistant ignores me and my goods to serve this rude lady so I asked her what she is doing. She said she was busy, I replied so am I and everyone else waiting to be served too. I told the assistant that if he serves her before me I will leave. He continued to do so, so I placed my unpurchased items on the counter and walked out, so did a few others.

The second time it happened, I raised my voice for all to hear and just said 'Get in the Queue like the rest of us'. The shop assistants who all know me now also refused to serve this person for her rude behaviour.

I'm normally quite chilled out and don't let most things bother me but there are limits and I can't cope with this behaviour.

I don't blame you.. Good on you for speaking out and sticking up for yourself.. I find it very annoying and disrespectful when this happens. :)

  9. I have to agree. As for those who feel Jingthing is over-reacting, I would like to see their reaction if they were put into the same situation. Being robbed is not a good feeling at all.

As for someone accusing Jing of deleting a thread or having someone delete it for him, is that even possible?

He was only trying to warn us so that we would not find ourselves in the same situation as he experienced. Good on you, Jing... At least you have something useful to post.

  10. I also find your "story" a bit strange, you don't know the bus number you say, get on just any bus then I take it, how do you know where your going. If you have got on just any bus, maybe it was on the correct route. Anyhow if you had known the bus number and it was taking an unschedualled route you could have rang the tourist police who normally have someone their who speaks english, and informed them.

    :)

Have you ever ridden on a Pattaya Baht Bus?

Actually...Do you even know what a Baht bus is??

Seems like you know nothing about the Baht bus system :D

  11. I've told you before in the the most polite and respectful way possible, that it's just a matter of time until some interaction with the locals go's terribly wrong for you.

Your far from home, with limited options, and above all your only a guest in the LOS, go along to get along.

    TIT :)

So does that mean that its OK for the Thai's to rob us? Just because we're guests in this country with limited options, it means we must allow people to rob us and take advantage of us?

I would really like to see your reaction if you were put into Jingthing's shoes that afternoon on the baht bus.

Ignore them, Jingthing. Being robbed is a terrible feeling and its so easy for others to sit behind their anonymous computer screen pointing fingers at what you should/shouldn't have done.

  12. My recent run in with them:

Our net goes out so we call them. They inform us that we are late on a bill and must pay it. They are unable to tell us what months bill we are late on, which makes no sense at all. I also know we are not late.

So my lady yaps them about this and they have us do the typical restart the router and put the blame on us. They then say that an "engineer" will call us.

The "engineer" finally calls us the next day to inform us that the, and I quote, "number one cablen is kha-put" and that all TT&T was down. I couldn't argue with the man and neither could my lady as this could happen. He then tells us they are working on the lines and they will call us when our service is restored.

Another day passes. Nothing. I foolishly think they are working on something big.

Yet another day goes by and something started to feel off. Even if the #1 cable was down, it would be fixed by now. My lady calls the main office and asks them if the cable is fixed. They had no idea what she was talking about and told her that there was never any such problem and that our service was off due to non payment in February.

At this point I am seeing red as blood was filling my eye sockets. My girlfriend found the paid bill from February and called them back. They told her it was too late and she would have to go to the Carrefour office tomorrow to show them.

The next day, she went to the office, showed the bill, yapped a little bit and the service was on within an hour.

    <deleted>!!!!!!????!!!???!

If the first money on the phone would have said what month, it would have been resolved. Then some uber-monkey flat out lies to us about a cable being down, only to find out THEY messed up in billing and didn't credit us for a bill we already paid 3 months before YET the first time we heard about it was May!

So I called to have CAT installed. I'm going to have two connections now, perhaps between the two of them I can stay online 80% of the time. I make my living online so I need to be up and running as much as possible. It is my own fault for not having a back up line in place years ago. Live and learn.

    Sounds like a nightmare!

Its a good idea to get a back up (I have TOT as a spare) as MaxNet seem to have a habit of putting the blame on the customer.

Not too impressed with their Customer Service.

  13. so you were sneaking in clubs at 15

    A bit younger actually :D :D

Also i though the age for ladies to go to clubs was 20 in Thailand

Nahh, In my years of being here I have only been asked for ID once and that was at Differ one night after they were raided. The clubs in Pattaya don't usually ask for ID from Foreign ladies. Different story in Bangkok though :D Couldn't get into the Bangkok clubs until last year.

There have been a few fatal shooting in thai bars around 3rd road so its doesnt seem that safe to me

The shootings are mostly always gang related.. I don't hang around with gangs or start any trouble with anyone.. I'm no raver, Just used to go out for a quiet drink and a bit of a dance now and then.. If any problems start, I get outta there.. Never had any problems though, ever.

    anyway happy 21 st soon.

Thank you! Bangkok here I come! :)

  14. I've been to MANY of the language schools in Pattaya.

I am studying with another girl from Japan who has only been here a few months and she can almost speak/read/write as much Thai as I can..

    โชคดีคะ

    Why is that Meg?

I thought you have been here for several years and have a Thai b/f.

    I do... Never said I haven't?

Even though I have a Thai boyfriend, It doesn't mean that me an my boyfriend communicate in Thai though does it.

  15. I've been to MANY of the language schools in Pattaya.

If you're looking for everyday life conversation (like me) please don't waste your time with the other schools, Check out Pro Language on Pattaya Klang opposite Carrefour..

You should ask them about an intermediate class. Can you already read and write Thai? Because this is what they also teach from the beginning.

My Thai has improved DRAMATICALLY because of this school, plus the classes are so fun - that I have sometimes been in tears with laughing in class. :) I am studying with another girl from Japan who has only been here a few months and she can almost speak/read/write as much Thai as I can..

    โชคดีคะ

  16. We were offilne for a few days this month too (2 days about 1-2 weeks ago, and 2 days a couple of days ago)

Both times Maxnet said there was no problem with them and that the problem was at our end. Seems they prefer to blame it on the customer :)

First time the problem was that all our User ID and password info had been removed from their system, 2nd time the guy couldn't find the problem so left us with no internet (after using our toilet and absolutely stinking our house out) and said he would check the 'plug' .. A couple of hours later it came on.. Must have been a problem at their end. Both times I was out of internet just after a rain storm.

As I said before, beware when you're letting one of Maxnet's guys use your bathroom, I don't know what he did in there but there was a VILE smell which I couldn't get out of my house for a couple of days. :D :D

  17. I saw on television that once a year in the Philippines a bunch of the young male students of a university run naked through the streets...

I'm on the next flight to the Philippines....

    :)
