  1. I no longer waste my time going for a night out in Pattaya anymore. Its not as good as it used to be a few years ago. When I am looking for a good time, I head down to Bangkok. What's happening to the place :D

Why's that? May I ask what exactly you don't like about Pattaya nightlife?

No specific reason really. Maybe I've just been here too long :)

Seriously, In my opinion, the only places where there seems to be a bit of life is the 'girly' area's. Not really the kind of places I prefer to go to really..

RCA in Bangkok is more my style. There used to be some good Pubs down 3rd Road, in which most of them have closed down.. Everywhere just seems dead lately :D

  2. I'm also a 21 year old female in Pattaya just like you :D

I've been to most places in Pattaya and prefer Bangkok for nightlife these days, but you could check out Mixx Disco at Bali Hai Pier.. Insomnia on Walking Street.. Candy Shop if you like Hip-Hop/Band... Then theres the disco's. X-zyte and Hollywood... Also the Thai Pubs where I usually go (Differ, Noir) but they are mostly Thai Band/Hip hop music..

It really depends on what kind of music/crowd you're into :)

  3. 30 baht an hour for the privilege of dropping my car somewhere while shopping. Yikes. Tell me they at least have some ticket-stamp option ...

Friendship, on Pattaya Tai, has been asking 40 Baht/hour during the recent holidays. :) Car park packed out mostly, too.

Usually when I go to Friendship the parking is free as long as I get a stamp on the ticket.

Yep, I have never been charged when having a stamp on the receipt.

A little bit up the road from Friendship (Towards 3rd road intersection) There is a car park which is I think 20 baht. I think its Tonys car park. I think Friendship also charge on Tuesdays and Fridays because of the Soi Bua Khao market. But you won't be charged if you have a stamp on your ticket (And are probably within some time limit) ..Can't really blame them for doing this though as everyone going to the market would park there if they didn't enforce some charges.

  6. I've had this happen to me before also. And no matter how many times I logged out and in again, I would still end up logged into this other persons account, and that person was logged into mine.

Be careful, I received a PM from a moderator a couple of months ago accusing me of having 2 accounts and warning me that 1 of my accounts must be closed. They said they had noticed that my computer had been logging into 2 accounts. I had to go into detail to explain this problem to the moderator who then gave me the all clear.

I don't know how I managed stopped the problem of being logged into someone elses account, but it just stopped happening after a few days.

  7. I finally got around to trying out the new Indian Restaurant last night.

I was looking forward to being able to compare 'Curries' with the Tikka Center on Soi Bua Khao..

Ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Popadoms, Nan Bread and Yellow Rice. Very nice friendly service. Clean table (nice compared to the Tikka Center where there are often curry marks on the tablecloth :) ) The popadoms came immediately and were not hot so I don't think they were fresh popadoms but they were still OK.

Even though I commented that the rice was too expensive for 50 baht, I must agree that you do get a very large serving for the price. I had to leave half a plate of rice! The curry was nice and very tasty. Nice large pieces of chicken and they made it nice and spicy as we had requested.

I'll definitely be returning! Since the Tikka Center made us wait an hour for our last meal there (And also put their beer price up to something like 90 baht), we have been on the lookout for a new Indian eatery for quite a while and glad to have found out about this place. Thanks to the OP for posting this information...

BTW: This is my 1,000th post. Where is my drum roll ? :D:D

  8. If it bothers you that much why dont you tell the offending person to stop.....easy peasy lemon squeasy....lets get with the programme like Butan and ban it all together :D

I doubt that all (if any) of the offenders will comply with your request. Especially those drunkards... :)

  9. Ill post a pic of him but i dont think it wud be allowed, best not for my sake eh,anyway he has short black hair and his face is brown lol,and he is short. But a major Prick
I just asked my Thai Partner, and he said the very long fingernail (little finger) is handy and can be used as a little tool for picking the nose or other little jobs that might need a swrewdriver or tool.

Grrr.. I hate you.. You beat me to it :D:D

Maybe you're talking about the same guy :)

    Hehehe EWWWW definitely not :D:D

  10. Even though your lawyer said that he has sorted it out I still don't think it will be the end of the problem because in reality you DO still owe him the 22,000 baht, and I don't think the guy will just forget about such a large sum of money..

  11. It creeps me out almost as much as the dude who has a nine inch hair shooting straight out of a facial mole.

    Freaks!

    LOL! :D

A guy who always used to serve us at a restaurant we used to go to had a big mole on his cheek with a very very long thick hair coming out of it. I asked my boyfriend why they don't cut it off and he said its because they believe it will bring bad luck if they cut it off... :)

...The things some Thai people believe in! Where DO they get it all from? :D

  13. As far as I know, 1 long fingernail is for picking. eg Picking of ears, Picking of nose, Picking of labels stuck on things ect.

I was told this by a Thai guy I used to know who had 1 long nail on his little finger. Whether or not this is the reason for everyone or just this guy I do not know.

  14. I get the feeling up-country that they generally don't refer to people by names, but by relationships or titles (i.e., farang, son-in-law, nephew, grandson, etc...).

True, Up country I have always been called the "Daughter-in-law".. I don't think I can ever re-call being called by my actual name when people have been talking about me... :)

  15. Some people call me Martin cause a farang named Martin once visited my GF's village. I act like that's really my name.

Barbie, maybe they call you that cause they think you have sawdust for a brain.

Sawdust? Is that the best you can come up with? :D

    I'm rolling on the floor laughing.......not. :)

No, it's not, but I don't want a 3 day suspension. I thought it was pretty good, anyway.

I would hate to have to keep you entertained. Where's Ken? I always thought Ken was gay.

In any case, if any of your story is true, you can call me Mr. Bean.

Yeah? You must be easily amused then, Mr Bean :D
