Don't think I've ever been to a Thai beach that was anything but 'dirty'.

They should take this opportunity to clean up both the beaches and their much prized image. Though the whole world knows what Thailand has become so it would be a bit like putting lipstick on a pig.

High quality tourists? Were we ever treated as such?

You cannot pimp an entire country and expect tourists to return.

One thing the Thais appear to have done better than others is suppress the Covid virus, (if one believes the figures). However, open the door to tourism too soon and they risk a second wave of infection as the rest of the world is behind on recovery and still infected.

So , does this men the $100,000 prerequisite for Covid insurance is done with??? and a test for covid 72 hours prior to flying approved by the Thai Embassy?????

And of course we are all going to spend our entire 14 day holiday here in quarantine. That is assuming they give us a visa on arrival (you come Thailand too mutt... visa denied).

Changed Oil and filter a few times at both cockpit and bquik.

Once I had brake pads done as well and got back home and checked the oil level and noticed the brake filler cap missing .

Found it luckily wedged in the engine.

Another time they asked if I wanted a genuine Toyota filter which I paid extra for and checked after and it was a non-genuine part .

Went back the next day and they said no problem next time they will replace it free!

    Never went back again.

I know these things are a rarity but still it shouldn't happen

That is the problem, such things are NOT a rarity! You have to watch them.

I underestimated the impact of this condition. After 10 days of loud ringing and 2-3 hrs of light sleep a night, it broke me. I had to take the Rivotril (Klonopin), as the Dr. ordered in the beginning and which I had refused to take. The feelings of anxiety, panic attack and depression due to constant ringing and lack of sleep, took its toll. I am better now, after first 6 hrs sleep but definitely will have to deal with this from another angle. Everyone, who responded, seems to echo the same feelings, you get used to it and the rings will decrease in volume and get on with it. Was it this bad for everyone in the beginning? I think the brain and body need time to adjust to it. Apparently the beginning stages are really hard. Anyhow respects to all for coping with it.

Do things that occupy your attention and much of the time you will not notice your T. It is still there but you no longer notice as you are distracted. If you think about it then it will be there. Farang tink too mut.

  5. Roadrunner has been sitting on the sideline curiously watching this thread and all these Farang trying to make sense of the way Thais do things.

Thailand..... chaos by committee. It does the Farang no good to think about it. You will only give yourselves brain damage.

I am selling Paracetamol at exorbitant prices if anyone needs. And no, I am not going anywhere near Korat.

Why is mine hissing and not a ringing sound???

Your cause .... perforated ear drum, and mine .... stress, result in different types of T sound.

Mine is a high pitched electronic wheeeeee in both ears, like those old valve-tube radios. But they each have a different tone. On odd occasion it pulses. I hear it inside my ear and inside my head.

Thank you everyone for your responses! I don't want to take any the drugs they want to give you, anti-depressants and benzodiazepene. So, everyone here dealt with the onset of Tinnitus without any medication? I plan to. Second question, I heard alcohol increases the ringing? Please, share your experiences and coping mechanisms.

None of the drugs helped me, and they do have other side effects! There are many causes of T, so what works for one person does not work for another.

The screaming varies, today it is almost silent, yesterday it was driving me insane. I never found out what causes it to vary. Anyone got any ideas?

Perhaps not so silly, you don,t know what they,'re putting in it and could end up mullahering your engine,if you want to be on the safe side but the correct oil and genuine filter and just pay a garage to change it,make sure the engine is warmed up and stand and watch while they do it.

True. Thais are known for putting poor quality oil in if you are not watching. The monkey business knows no limits here. Happened to me once, after oil change the oil warning light would not go out. Looked at the oil, thin as water. Changed oil again at another gas station and watched them do it this time.... all ok.

as for filters all are sold by companies that make them for vehicle manufacturers and also sell them as universal products.

There are fake copy filters around, I have seen them. Oil flow to your engine can be impaired by a bad filter.

In view of the above I buy my own oil in the original manufacturers pack and a genuine filter.
