Me and the wife were at Jomtien beach a few years back. I had a foot massage and the wife had her nails painted. The gal asked for 1500 baht. We called the police over and she lost her lisence on the spot. Never been back.
You broke the golden rule. ALWAYS ask how much first before and not after as its to late then and the police may not always be around to help you
You never went back because of some old issarn massage lady upset you?

. If you believe they are real discounts then you probably believe the " There are 27 people " currently looking at this room text ..its called marketing

Not in Cambodia. Yet.

Give a year or 2. I thought they made some changes last year but that may have been the business visa. Thats right they want you to be employed for long term visas 6m-1year
In October 2017, Cambodia changed their rules and added an employment requirement to their long term visas. However, the government did not publish clear guidelines and, at the present moment, nobody knows what to make of it – including visa agencies!
Ha ha does the above sound familiar ? but thai aint it lol

Hard to believe that anybody would choose a country to live in based on an easy visa. Here is a heads up, its easy for good reason and its because they are desperate to attract customers. The Philippines doesn't rate in any other way compared to Thailand except a visa. You guys are going to be sitting in your rooms clutching your shiny new visa and then in a few weeks it will dawn on you what a mistake you made and what a fantastic place Thailand was.

You back to crowing about your wonderful falang neighborhood and how much your condo is now worth? *insert bored eyeroll here*
Where did I say what its worth? geez its hardly a mansion but I was just replying to the previous posters comment that prices sky rocketed and I said Im glad I bought when I did . Its wonderful area because its Farang. I want nothing to do with Thais unless Im ordering a drink or a meal or Im renting by the hour..So many dramas on these threads all revolving around exposure to Thais and being stuck in a Thai ghetto. No thanks I will stick with my own people ????

highest concentration of transvestites on the planet. Soi 4 is wife beater Haven for tourist, and you have a huge Arab presence. Worst cops in the city at Asok, and hardly any middle class Thais, and the upper class ones are more likely to be around Paragon. And did I mention the Chinese have ruined a lot of things around there? Quality of life on the decline, as land prices skyrocket..none of the things that made Thailand famous can still be found in those parts. I am a big fan of transit, but the rush hour crowds are uncivilized on BTS/MRT, but you just have to avoid Asok, Siam and a few others. Any place there are Chinese tourists, crowding on transit quickly gets to unsafe levels. A date out, and steak dinner for two could set you back 20,000, and you are still praying she doesn't order another 3500 than bottle of wine that cost 12 bucks in the States. I suppose the boiler room guys get what they deserve.
20k steaks ? ???? There goes your credibility
Lady boys left with the street bars long ago now all in soi 4 . Only an idiot would use the Bts at peak hour
The Q condo adjoining Nana Bts selling at 1 to 5 million USA DOLLARS !! gee now why did that choose Nana ?and Your right it is expensive but there is big infrastructure changes happening
Chinese are middle class and big spenders ,
Oh you got the condo bit right its skyrocketing I bought 13 years ago 80 sqm condo At Asoke off the plan at multiple times cheaper so we agree on something and 5 mins walk to Asoke BTS and the fantastic T21 and its food court
Oh wait is that a rooster I hear crowing...Now what village was that you live in ?

No. Have the aircon turned off, then turn off the circuit breaker for 15 minutes, turn power back on and start the aircon again to see if it will blow cold or not. Mine didn't.
Ok trying it now

Was thinking the above - if unit turned on when circuit breaker turned back on any computer malfunction might not get cleared - wanted to be sure you had actually turned the unit itself off using remote and not just removing electric supply.
Guess it time for tech help - good luck getting on hot/holiday/wet evening.
I have exactly the same problem after a power cut. Im not getting this. Are you saying turn the AC on and then turn the circuit breaker off ?

But the main problem is Bangkok is that it is too big and too hard to get around in. So you really need to live within walking distance of everywhere you need/want to go to regularly. If you can do that it's OK.
Its not to big if you live in between Asoke and Nana where all the fun expats hang out and we are talking all types of people from high rollers to school teachers and retirees but the big difference is there are no beer guts walking around shirtless or in a wife beater and in flip flops which is the national dress code of Pattaya.
There are five 5 star hotels in that little strip so lots a classy tourists around. Great place to be

Meant to be a bashing thread but its just silly. What jobs what I want to do, like most we came here to retire and time goes by even quicker if you keep yourself busy with hobbies , the gym, eating at the mall, coffee shop, female entertainment , a few beers at the local

Just shop on line. Tesco for meat veges fruit etc , she loves browsing the website especially the hot deals and 2 for 1 section

My experience is they are small shops and charge double the price compared to fasciano in Pattaya

It would be a different matter of they spent all their cash in actual Thailand!
With the combined import and export leakage virtually none of their money ends up in Thai pockets, so where's the benefits of the boom in Chinese tourism?
"Thailand relies heavily on Chinese tourists to meet its tourism revenue target of 2.2 trillion baht in 2015 and 2.3 trillion in 2016. It is estimated that the average Chinese tourist remains in the country for one week and spends 30,000–40,000baht (US$1,000–1,300) per person, per trip."

I stay right there every year for a month when taking a break from Bangkok. You did well that's a solid well maintained building with a great poolBought in Talay 2 15th floor 35sqm condo for 1.3m - cracking views, clean air and the Jomtiem breeze that doesn't seem to get over Pratumnahk Hill. Baht buses and Airport bus on your doorstep, then airport link speeds you into Bkk if required, Thepprasit Road fresh and night markets, daily morning fish sales on the beach and wonderful French bakery in so-called Supertown. Solid good value without the stuckupness of Hua Hin. One couldn't want for more.....- 1
