  1. This remind me of when I was taking psyllium (Plantago ovata) daily as an anti-constipation supplement. It makes your turds into floaters.
  2. I often hear such bravado, including from people who have two weeks' sleepless nights in the run-up to a dentist appointment.
  3. As I explained in some previous post, my plan is to simply declare a mid-year remittance as though it were taxable. If challenged I'll say I laboured under the illusion that remittances from same year's money were taxable regardless of LTR (= I'll use the "money earnt in previous years" charade as an excuse). I won't be able to test this before 2027 though, since I understayed the 180 days in 2025 owing to my hassle last year with TRD which made me doubt I was tax-exempt at all. Does a WP-LTR visa allow any domestic income apart from investments?
  4. Alas, from my own experience it seems you need more than simply file. You need to pay some tax however small. The office that sends out tax residency certificates wants to see the receipt of your tax payment (and doesn't seem willing to consider your 10% dividend tax on your Thai stocks).
  5. I wonder whether we are required to present proof of health insurance again in cases where the health insurance said "insured for life".
  6. Question: why did DNA colonize the Earth? Answer: because it could Life has no meaning. It's only apparent purpose is the maximization of physical and psychological suffering.
  7. European exporting companies, which are the ones quoted on the stock exchange, are faced with the same uncertainties as US companies because of Trump's tariffs.
  8. This is perhaps only a consequence of a shift away from big tech and AI. All big techs are US. All big IA players are US.
  9. That's one thing in which I find Thailand lacking. Not only will cab drivers refuse to use meters, but they will scare away app drivers from certain pick up points. I no longer take buses from Suvarnabumi or Ekamai to Pattaya because when the bus drops me off at the Northern Pattaya bus station, no Bolt driver dares come and pick me up there because of the taxi/songthaew mafia. Traffic is worse in Jakarta than in Bangkok of course, but taxis in Jakarta do not scam, and apps work well with credit cards. Ueber in Brazil is super efficient and cheap, with rides booked from the credit card.
  10. Lord Mandelson under investigation over allegations he shared market-sensitive government information with Jeffrey Epstein. Sources say no suspicion of sex crimes. Exactly what I thought: proxy charges for non-existent sex crimes. Sharing "sensitive information" means some kind of insider trading. Insider trading is how leaders in the US congress get rich. Pelosi comes to mind. All of a sudden this becomes a big thing when the name "Epstein" crops up in some email.
  11. There is hardly any substance to the Epstein scandal. The blackmail operation didn't happen, there was no organized provision of girls to famous men, and it's dubious whether Andrew is even "guilty" of seeing a 17-year-old escort since Virginia Guiffre is so unreliable prosecutors wouldn't even have anything to do with her for the Maxwell trial. They did one interview with her and realized she can't keep a coherent story of any kind of victimization.
  12. What infuriates me, Thais make an orgy of plastic for everything. Why don't they use zip-lock plastic bags wherein to put each passport with any accompanying paperwork?
  13. Problem is, if you apply for a COR at Immigration, the first thing they do is staple a TM30 into your passport. And if I'm not mistaken they staple the 90-day reporting too. I can't help thinking it's a Thai thing to staple passports. If I remember right even visa agencies stapled some invoices related to visa extensions into the passport. It's time embassies raised the issue with Thai Immigration.
  14. If you have a good overhead fan and live on a high-floor (out of reach of mosquitos) you can leave the windows open and use the fan only. The overhead fan can dry out your eyes at night though. I even remember waking up thirsty at 5 in the morning. Evaporation cooling relies on your body losing water. Fans are no good with the windows shut.
  15. Like they say in Brazil, ladyboys are for looking, not for touching. They're geezers in the trouser department folks !
  16. So you get a hefty fine and suspended sentence for consuming cocaine, and you immediately tell the court you're going to go out and buy some meth asap.
  17. The arrest of Prince Andrew for sharing information and the criminal charge against a Norwegian previous prime minister and a diplomat for corruption, is just proxy allegations for sex-crimes that the police want to believe but do not have any form of evidence for. Proxy charges for non-existent sex crimes.
  18. There are no more sexual revelations as far as one can tell, which don't get any better or worse than that brief appearance with a 17-year-old which is the icon of the entire scandal as far as more or less verified images go. The basis of the arrest is "misconduct in public office" but it is unclear what this really means. Is the corruption or espionage or whatever the hell that is supposed to be really so bad either that it justifies this kind of scandal or is it another stand-in for persecuting teensex when they couldn't dredge up anything sexual they could actually charge?
  19. They're from red States and will vote for Trump again after he declassifies cannabis.
  20. Even if this were true, electrode "torture" is standard BDSM consensual practice. Enough to drive the sheeple into a frenzy though. The sheeple never really had sex worth mentioning, in fact they never had a life. Yet the sheeple want the "elites" to have had sex with "children", preferably before torturing the latter and eating them in satanic cannibalistic rituals. This tells us more about the sheeple's hidden fantasies than about the elites'.
  21. I thought the latest batch was underwhelming. I think Andrew was revealed to have hooked up with a 26-year-old Russian model and that was as good as it got. He did once ask Ghislaine for “inappropriate friends,” but she didn’t have any! Otherwise you had anonymous elite men going home with 40-year-olds and thousands of documents between any sex at all. Epstein’s circle from 2004 to his death in 2019 had more boring sex lives than we do!
  22. No the allegations must not be proven in court. Not nowadays. The courts act on "believe the victim", and we know what that means.
  23. Why do you smell it then? Stop smelling it for God's sake!
  24. The wife says you raped/abused/groomed her, and you're toast. Legal niceties won't save you (from ruin or the sex-offender register).
  25. Not everything was better 20 or 30 years ago. I remember how nightlife was dirt-cheap and wonderful, yet under a cloud: HIV ! HIV was a death sentence back then.
