  1. I can't stand the smell of the Terminal 21 food court. I remember buying a chicken green curry there. It was cheap all right. No meat in it to speak of, only grisle, bone and skin, beerk!
  2. It was like this during a couple of years just before the opening of Terminal 21. But this was due to the fact that Central Festival was still the only shopping mall in Pattaya. It got better after the inauguration of Terminal 21, but not for long. I don't mind the price hikes. What I resent is walking around with a tray and not finding a place where to sit.
  3. No panic, what with nowadays' nightlife price inflation, sex rides are becoming ruinously expensive to organize even behind closed doors, let alone on tuk-tuks. Extortionate prices will succeed where the morality police has failed.
  4. Convicted for what crime? For hiding he was paying money to a blackmailer. And the blackmailer did nothing wrong apparently. Is it something to gloat about that the justice system is a madhouse?
  5. Yes I know, a topic like this quickly degenerates into a joke contest. Deep down however, life is not funny. Life is bad, death is bad. I used to think coping with such badness through humour was the thing to do. Now I regard it as a cop-out. The thing to do is not to create new life.
  6. There's no voluntary euthanasia or assisted suicide in Thailand. One of the downsides of getting old in TH.
  7. Only during the initial "rush". Later on I also feel like lying down. I don't call it sleep because I don't think it actually count as genuine sleep you can offset against the waking hours.
  8. I use it as an aphrodisiac early in the afternoon, on top of sildenafil. When I'm done with my short-time visitor I wish the high would go away. It doesn't though. I need to sweat it out and cannot do anything useful ultil it goes away. Even after the high has subsided there's a lingering feeling of exhaustion well into the evening. It's this waste of time and loss of mental stamina I resent. I can't understand how some people can get high on cannabis just for the sake of the high. To me the cannabis high per se ranges from mildly unpleasant to mildly pleasant. If it weren't for sex I wouldn't ever do cannabis. Perhaps this is why I'm in no danger of getting addicted to cannabis. You get addicted to a drug when you like the high of the drug on its own (and on your own!).
  9. Incredible how racism will clutch at every straw to raise its ugly head. Not to mention how self-defeating such an opinion is once you have a minimal understanding of supply and demand. Yeah, let them deport the Africans, then the Burmese, then the Cambodians and Laotians. Then you will wonder why all that is left is a handful of post-menopausals demanding 100 dollars for a handjob.
  10. You mean the "classy" ones you bargain down to 500 THB after they ask 800?
  11. With in-built smart chips IDs have been "digital" already for many years now.
  12. Very practical, but I don't regard minivans as safe. Most of the time seats don't even have a headrest, which mean even a relatively mild accident can kill you (break your neck). Also, drivers will often text while driving: drivers on governement buses never do from what I've seen.
  13. I'd have thought a taxi would cost more like 10k.
  14. Well, yes there is! It's the famous 999 line, very popular and therefore at risk of being booked up. I read somewhere it was possible to catch a big bus (going only to Trat?) somewhere along the Sukhumvit in Pattaya but I don't want to risk being stranded with luggage along the Sukhumvit.
  15. I'd like to secure seats in advance but I won't be in Bangkok. Will they sell me tickets at Pattaya bus station? I guess not, they will only sell tickets departing from Pattaya, not tickets departing from Bangkok. I hate death trap minivans, that's why I prefer to go to Bangkok first to board a big bus. Do you win time flying from Suvarnabumi to Trat compared to the bus ride?
  16. I don't date long time any more in TH. I pay for short-times with 8s and above from time to time instead. In another country with pussy more abundant and cheaper, I might have long term relationships with top-tier girls. But I'd have to live in such a country. The price of pussy is not the only factor when it comes to choosing a country to settle in. If it were we'd all be chasing long-term visas in some African countries. Dating down so that the woman is less of a headache and less of a hole in one's budget? Easier said than done. Whenever I've tried to do so I've regretted it instantly. I couldn't wait to be alone again. If short-time with a top-tier girl goes up, let's say to 200 dollars, from now "only" 100 dollars, I may consider leaving Thailand though. Everything is a trade-off but some point may be reached at which it's not worth it any more.
  17. Can you get it without getting a "certificate of residence" first?
  18. The way I am going to get official proof I stayed over 180 days in TH will be to file taxes for 2024 (although I am certain I owe zero tax). Killing two birds in one stone. If I need an immigration paper to prove I stayed over 180 days, I might as well take it a step further and get a paper proving I'm clean re taxes as well.
  19. Besides Tongkat ali, Tribulus terrestris has a reputation to boost testosterone. Not sure it does though. I buy a two-month bottle once in a while but I take it without too much faith. I also take things like Zinc and vitamin K2. And of course DHEA. A good idea with plants is not to take them every single day of the year, lest they have side-effects long-term (kidneys etc.).
  20. Not only that, but say you show boarding passes to prove you boarded a plane into Thailand on day A and out of Thailand on day B, how do you prove that you weren't out of Thailand and into Thailand again between day A and day B? Up to now you could tell the tax dept it was impossible to either enter or leave Thailand without the Thais putting a stamp in your passport. Once the tax dept knows the Thais are no longer stamping passports, the only formal proof of your stays in Thailand is through some kind of certificate issued by Thai immigration.
  21. Can you get this online? Or will it be yet another "certificate of residency" charade and a half-day at the IO? Last time I exited from Thailand I asked to go through the booth to have my passport stamped and I got my stamp. How long this will go on being possible is the question.
  22. Quote from the article: "By working together, the goal is to make the festive season safer for everyone travelling within Thailand. " So only the festive season is it? Outside the festive season it will be road carnage as usual.
  23. Returning to the tax debate, I got a quote of 20k baht "plus 7% VAT, excluding transportation and government fees" from Siam Legal for the filing of Thai tax. God knows what "transportation" means here. Trips of the agent to the TRD? There's a website called "expattaxthailand" (not sure pasting the link is admissible) with a reasonable quote for people with straightforward cases. Here's a screenshot:
  24. I got the green light to choose an appointment on the same day I uploaded my passports with the stamps.
  25. All people sentenced for victimless crimes like drug crimes, and most sex crimes. A lot of people actually. About 80% of jailed individuals.
