  1. Believe it or not I have had Arabs tell me they come for the rain, at the moment Booking.com is saying the number 1 nation to book here in Rawai is Saudi's
  2. Thanks for letting us know that,
  3. I've stopped ordering that garbage online, the last couple of times it wasn't cooked properly and the portions are small, if you cant get chicken fried rice cooked then they shouldn't be in business. I remember we ordered a pizza same it was under cooked, 7/11 has never let me down, Big coffee for 50 baht and one of my favourite is Chicken Tikka Massala, for 69 baht, go in a local Indian gaffe it's 350 baht, Here in Rawai I have a favourite place for Fish and Chips on a Friday special 195 baht, you can order it any other time and it's 295 Baht, but they do give you a bigger portion, more than enough.
  4. That was old news can you not do any better than this, tell the real story they had been driving that car around for 4 years on English plates which is illegal
  5. They cant sell the ones they have built, One particular project I know, I will admit it is good construction, was built 7 years ago and they haven't sold them all, the prices are still the same as they were 7 years ago, so if you bought one thinking it would increase in value forget it, owners would be lucky to get their money back, there is some 2 bedroom units they have lost money there were 12 million baht I've seen them for sale at 9 million baht. Couple of years back a guy I met was interested to buy a couple of units so I went to see and had a walk around with the girl out of the office, there is units that were bought by Thai's just left empty never used, she told me the foreign quota available is 22%. Stop paying these silly prices, I see a Russian woman trying to sell her 30sqm unit nothing special for 3.2 million <deleted> construction I remember it being built,

  10. James Everett du Bois, a 49 year old US Army veteran, was swept out to sea while trying to save his wife and toddler son at Nai Harn Beach in Phuket. While his wife managed to return to shore and their son was rescued by lifeguards, du Bois As far as I know that's not what happened, he was out playing in the water with his son, the lifeguard could only grab the son first then went back to try and rescue the father but it was too late he had been swept away, A couple of days later there was another incident, the lifeguard left his belongings on the beach and ran into the sea to pull someone out, he saved them, but some arse hole nicked his bag with his bike keys in it and drove off on his bike, brand new bike with the red plate, I hope they caught the <deleted>,
  11. I have met loads over the years, they come across as being to serious I find thats the older ones from back in the USSR, There is a couple of younger ones live near me when I see them they are always friendly to me, and the women come across as being cold I just tell them You smile they smile, I did learn a few words of Russian, most of the younger ones do speak English, I think you would be miserable if you had to live in minus 30 degrees,
  12. Do you mean European OTA's? or the Chinese ones? My daughter booked through TUI last year, doesn't seem much demand for package tours here, people seem to make their own way here, thinking the can get cheap accommodation when they get here,

  18. Bikes getting stolen happens a lot in Phuket, When my wife first moved to Phuket I bought her a new Fino, It got stolen still had the red plate on it, the thieves just picked it up and put it on a truck. A neighbour of mine had his bike and sidecar stolen a couple of years back, A couple months ago we bought a new Yamaha Grand Filano in white it looks good, people are telling me that's the one that gets stolen the most, the white ones,
  19. I know he should not have stolen it but that is a bad habit leaving the key in the ignition, It wouldnt have been long before a Thai would have come along and stolen it,
