Footnote on that story says 33 foreigners have been arrested in Phuket on various misdemeanours including 3 Chinese working on a building site, since this Swiss story hit the headlines.

I think them days have gone at least in Phuket we have two good friends and both are pharmacist with there own shops, A while ago I was in central shopping mall, I could not even buy asprin,

Common  knowledge year ago down here in Phuket come the end of the month send the immigration around the building sites and arrest all the Burmese so they did have to pay them,

It is also happening in Rawai, Phuket a good friend of ours who has her own salon told us about it, I think she getting pi$$ed off as she pays big rent and staff, and these Russians are working from home and as mobile hair and beauty treatments, It's not going down to well I have spoke with a few thais recently, the locals are not happy, 

They should start searching them better at the airport, asking why someone needs 3 laptops, also when they see a farang with a large amount of luggage, 

I think if you found a farang coming into the country with crypto mining rigs that would be a sure sign he intends to work,
