  1. Just wondering if there's 2 different circumstances within these threads: 1. An Oz citizen who gained the OAP some time ago whilst resident in Oz, and hasn't ever lived abroad, but takes holidays / longer hols maybe 6 , 8 etc., weeks then returns to Oz. Seems that in this circumstance away over 6 weekd invokes some reductions in overall pension, but when this person returns full pension is restored. 2. An OZ citizen who has been outside of OZ a long time, returns and immediately lodges an application for the OAP. Then after 2 years back in Oz qualifies for 'portability' and gets moved to the 4 weekly payment cycle, funds sent abroad. But the pension amount is reduced by only one item, no longer entitled to the 'energy allowance'. Any 'Six weeks away' clauses not in the overall picture / circumstances that I can see. I'm in 'Type 2' just above, achieved portability (several years ago), now back in LOS and never received any correspondence from C'link or the ATO. (Yes I do check myGov often enough to see if there any correspondence needing attention.)
  2. Remebering that border force knows you departed Oz and the date/time but they don't know where you are going.
  3. Yes, I signin every few months, for several years, did it just last week. No outstanding messages. I've never had any messages/letters etc., from C'link asking me whether i'm coming back etc., except for about 5 years back when I returned and applied for the OAP. About 4 or 5 days later I got a letter on myGov asking if I had any plans for o'seas travel in the near future. I replied NO. As said that's about 5 years back, never heard from them ever again.
  4. Policies, laws, resources which provide : - Fully equal education opportunities, using student centred learning in schools which pushes kids to learn to anlyse and pushes them to ask questions, and pushes teachers to ensure kids know the correct answer and know why its the correct answer. - Fully equal work opportunities, and - Fully equal salary benefits for male and female employees. - Salaries based on the value of the stated work outputs of each job, not based on uni degree achived by employee. - And markedly reduces the current outrageous gap in salary and benefits by policies which limit tht gap by law, So that a very big % of the population can achieve basic dreams like; land and house, car, can afford good education for their kids, and a fair quality of life. WHY? So that kids don't fell lost and ignored by society, they belong to a civil society which respects them and gives them opportunity.
  5. I'll stay with Kilos thanks, it's the metric measurement system I've used since 1966, I know it well, it works for me and about 95% of the world's population. Quite possibly true many US Americans don't even know 95% of the worlds population use a different measurement system. (By the way metric (kilos / liters / meters) is standrad across all of Sth. America.)
  6. So easy, just call the KBank call center, excellent English, always very helpful and they don't bite.
  7. The lady moved to another table.... One reason could be that she can't speak any English and was afraid you might try to engage her in an English conversation. So rather than lose face by not being able to understand you / engage in any conversation she moved. This is possible.
  8. For many items on Lazada you can pay 'COD'.
  9. Reality is that all Thai banks are now following the global trend: - Push customers to internet banking and banking aps. - Massively reduce the need for hard cash, therefore ATMs and over the counter banking not needed so much, therefore not so many branches needed / close branches. - Make big improvements in telephone banking, and strogly encourage telephone banking. - Increase debit card usage (touch the merchants reader). - Increase QR code payments. - As above, exactly what's happening in Australia (well advanced as per above, rare to see cash)) and in many countries.
  10. AND do it now, because in reality it will come very soon, why not NOW, and especially since they got very big numbers in the general election.
  11. Keep in mind that Thai partners openly holding hands in public is a quite recent 'activity'. Even for older folks not normal, and bottom line (direct from both my older Thai familymembers and older Thai uni colleagues), in the past openly seen holding hands was seen as low class behavior.
  12. Not bothered to read again, what for, you're determined to be negative when in reality you're just describing small pictures of daily life anywhere. Or perhap you belive you're special and everybody should stop in their track and give special attention to YOU? Or is this is a long troll post/thread. Move on, bye.
  13. Really, how big is your financial contribution?
  14. .. and say sawasdee khrup. IAmong other items it's a show of respect, it helps. Big picture, suggest it's time for you to go online and book a ticket out. - You're determined to be frustrated, and - You make no contribtion to Thailand it seems. Move on tomorrow.
  15. Several times I've been to a famous multilevel Pizza restaurant (from memory 4 levels) with my uni students in Ho Chi Minh City, VN. All pizza bases are thin and crispy, not over/under cooked, and every pizza has the same medium spicy traditional pizza sauce. Or can order very spicy. Always lots of local nice mix of pizza cheeses, and can order specific / extra cheese. Each level has a specific theme. One level is fruit; one fruit alone: banana, pineapple, orange, apple, strawberry... Or mixed fruits to order. And mango and sticky rice, coconut milk and peanuts. Very delicious and I'll be happy to go again.
  16. And way way too much mayonnaise.
  17. I doubt you will get specific accurate answers on this site, talk to some hospitals.
  18. NOT shocking, NOT a scandal. Everyday life. Some folks need a hobby, perhaps knitting would be a good diversion away from petty reporting of such events. He's a good man devoted to his job, leave him be.
  19. You want train services anywhere to anywhere (I do mean anywhere to anywhere), on time every time, clean, not expensive, safe, comfortable, medium speed to fast speed. Go to Japan.
  20. Fine the company enough that it goes into failure and bankruptcy and also fine the principals enough that they can never restart a business. Punishment and set the pace so that others don't just do the same thing because they are very frightened of the law.
