  1. It happens in many industries. My Thai son went to first day of lessons (hotel pool on Ploenchit Road) to learn basic diving (for an upcoming 3 day holiday in Bali and he wanted to spend 2 hrs diving - never done a dive before - never heard of being qualified to an international standard etc etc.). Second morning three 'scouts' from other diving schools approached my son and the other 2 students and offered them money start teaching diving the next day. Son and the other 2 shocked at the ofer and also because the teacher from the first day had disappeared.
  2. Do they run from the left side to every car to try to catch folks driving without a Thai permit?
  3. I guess there must be a reason why 7 police officers assaulted someone, but I cant find such detail. Please share.
  4. OP hasn't had much success with identifying a C'Link expert. Perhaps if the OP posted a list of subject areas and specific questions folks on AN might be able to help. But what would be needed is to sort the bullshot / unconnected / unhelpful / deliberately incorrect / off topic answers from the real answers. CUT AND PASTE FROM ABOVE: Here's a cut and paste from the appropriate Centrelink site. I have called the Thailand free call number several times over several years, always got through and speaking to a Clink officer in less than a minute. Never ever had charges added to my AIS phone bill. "If you are in one of the following countries, you can use our free call numbers listed. The numbers may not be free from mobile or public phones. c c c Thailand 001 800 611 4136 " 1 Quote Posted November 24 Ring them at 5 in the morning Thai time and you will get through quickly they are actually very helpful Not so sure about 5.00 am but I do agree: in my experience the officers on 001 800 611 4136 are very helpful.
  5. I'm aware of a Norwegian couple, been coming to Thailand for 3 months at a time two times every year. Both late 60's. They maintain a 'permanent' rental on a small house on the beach. Norwegian husband and wife stay together in the house for the first 2 months of each visit, then the Norwegian lady flies back to Norway alone. Norwegian husband then transfers to his long-term Thai GF/s house for one month then he flies back to Norway. This arrangement has become well known. The Norwegian wife talks way too much, like a machine. She tells all 'My husband needs 2 women to take care of his sexual appetite so I have to be flexible. Several years back the Norwegian lady found a very young Thai man to stay with her for the the third month. That lasted about 3 days then the Thai boy fled.
  6. Been working in LOS for 35 years, seen this happen many times. And every case is different / quite different. We had a family from Belgium living in our moo baht village (husband, wife 4 daughters - 19, 18, 16. 12). Posted here from the company HQ in Belgium. Within 4 weeks of being here the husband moved out to live with his new Thai secretary. Still supported his whole family from Belgium. Belgian wife (about 45 yo) eventually decided to take her own path and hired a handsome / hot 18 yo Thai escort boy from an agency (seen many times around the yard of the house, usually in just very short shorts). She had money, she bought him out from the agency and paid him a good monthly salary. / This became public knowledge because she shared all the details with her 2 oldest daughters 19 and 18, including the full sex details and of course gossip was rife. Plus many times the 4 daughters saw her on the sofa, in the kitchen preparing meals with her hands inside the boy shorts and his tiny bikinis. And more. Eventually the young man got tired of this and disappeared. So wife decided a new approach, she found addresses of small local Thai discos, went there and approached young Thai teenage boys (was seen with underage Thai boys) and instantly put her hands down their pants and groped them and even sucked them in public. The 4 daughters decided this could not continue. They contacted their father and asked him to come home. He said no and refused to discuss the matter further. The 4 daughters then did some research and found the contact details of the global HR director of their fathers company in Belgium. They called him and asked him to help them. HR Director quickly flew to Thailand, spoke to the daughters who had by this stage not seen their mother for weeks, she had moved in with a hot Thai boy. HR guy quickly got the facts, found a good Thai lawyer and then told the Belgian man his employment would be terminated in 1 week. Belgian man realized he had built a monster and dismissed his new Thai lover and arranged for himself and 4 kids to get back to Belgium quickly. Belgian wife had now heard the above details and apparently had realized this couldn't continue and asked for financial help from the company to get back to Belgium. Meanwhile in Belgium the 4 daughters were living happily with an aunt they respected and who it seems was a good listener. Mother joined them. Belgian husband now back in Belgium looking for work. His original company had spoken to the Belgian Embassy in Bkk and asked them to try to block the man from ever entering Thailand again.
  7. Abortion after birth...what does that mean?
  8. How do you now the date of the photo? She's a conman, same as her brother.
  9. My whole family live here in Chiang Mai, Don Chan / Thasala area. My Thai adult son, his Thai wife, my uni age Thai granddaughter and myself buy 'groceries' online regularly from: Food Panda, Big C (both locations), Makro Superhighway and LOTUSs. They never buy just 1 item, always wait until need 3 or 4 items to spread the delivery cost. Delivery from all these shops is prompt. From Big C Don Chan (very close to our home) often less than an hour. Items delivered always match what was ordered online. I do agree it would be nice to look at Rimpings offerings and then buy online.
  10. Looking for a dinner venue: - 5 adults, 1 kid, 1 baby - Typical Christmas dinner menu, possibly some drinks - Start 5:30 pm (need to get baby home early) - Reasonable price per head (Note: Not interested in big hotels or super expensive restaurants) Suggestions appreciated, thanks.
  11. Maybe a drawcard looking for clues to construct lucky lottery numbers.
  12. I get the full OAP basic supplement like every OA Pensioner. I don't get any other allowances: phone, rent assistance etc.
  13. I get the basic supplement and CLink confirmed OA Pensioners get the basic supplement regardless of location anywhere in the world. After departing Oz the other 'allowances' stopped quickly and have never been reinstated.
  14. - Bestiality is common in every country and in every socio-economic level and animal and female or animal and male and has been for at least several thousand years. - Incest is common in every country and has been for at least several thousand years and is common in every country and in every socio-economic level and animal and female and animal and male. And between sibling. Standard stuff. Not new news.
  15. I think you've been misinformed. OAP recipients who are outside of Australia are paid the full supplement. I got the full OAP, then a bit later I left Oz and came to Thailand. Receiving the full supplement continued and I've been getting the full supplement all of time (now about 6 years). I'm wondering if you're aware that you can request to be changed to the 4 weekly payment cycle. Every 4 weeks transferred direct to my K Bank savings a/c here in Thailand. Funds sent by Clink go through a Commonwealth gov't banking process (not through a commercial bank in Oz and the fees are tiny.to K bank fees receive the OAP transfer are also small (about 120Baht from memory) every 4 weeks. K Bank will (if you request it) send an instantaneous email to your email address with an attachment giving some details of what's been deposited into your K Bank savings a/c. No charge. It seems that the deposit into my K Bank savings account is just a few hours after despatch from Oz. The bank account receiving the OAP funds can be a personal savings account (your name only) or it can be a joint account. I spoke to a CLink officer about that before I returned to Thailand. The officer confirmed it can be a joint account and Clink prefer that the second person be a relative. CLink don't want to know if the a/c needs one signature for withdrawal at a bank or two. As above, I've received the full OAP supplement since I moved to Thailand. C'Link do always know whether your in Oz or not in Oz. They have a live link to Oz Immigration records. Their systems check every passport number (arriving and departing) and your movements are automatically recorded in C'Link records. One item that might not be clear, as above C'Link check every passport number in the Immigration records (arriving and departing) and your movements are automatically recorded in C'Link records. But they don't know where you went or where you arrived from.
  16. Adjust final paragraph: Son's wife now only buys cosmetics from Robinsons or Central Festival, and only buys cosmetics when her husband (my son) is with her.
  17. Agree, IMHO the union should not align itself with one party. In fact there should be a vote before any such declaration. But i do encourage all their members to all openly discuss which party they support and respect the individual opinions of others.
  18. Seems you are taking it easy and not getting angry etc. Good attitude.
  19. Worst I've come across, several years ago in a restaurant in Pattaya. Farang at next table asked my Thai female friend to help him communicate with his Thai GF. The crux he shared: 'I met her 2 weeks ago, she couldn't speak one word of English so I get her into a small English school in Pattaya. Only 10 students in the class. Then he shared that they have no books or handouts and the class isn't divided at all by existence English level. Then he shared "She's been going to English class 3 days a week, 2 hrs per lesson for under 2 weeks, but she still can't speak English. I think she's just lazy."
  20. Is this just a repost of 2 or 3 weeks ago? No new info?
  21. To be honest I am quite negative about this 'profession'. My Thai son's wife is easy pray for influencers who easily convince her to buy many things. She's obviously an easy target and gets calls "I have new brand of cosmetics, beautiful bottles / jars and I'm holding the sales so you can be first, etc. She buys instantly. Some years back my son got tired of being asked for more and moe cash every month. He sat his wife down and politely insisted she tell him details of how she uses her money every month. Two health insurance policies came to light, both for her elderly mother, both way beyond being appropriate (8,000Baht daily limit for a private hospital room, and more). Also, son's wife had made several claims (handed to the seller / influencer). Son spoke to the seller who under pressure admitted that she had never forwarded the claims to the company. Seller was son's wife's best friend at high school. Son also asked for copies of the policies etc. His wife had none. Seller insisted that by Thai law customer are not allowed to have copies of insurance documents. Checking monthly premium payments revealed many payments had never been forwarded to the company. Son confronted the seller who insisted that she was doing everything legally. Son left the room and seller abused sons' wife 'how dare you, my best friend' the company is now investigating me and I will probably have to refund some commissions I have received. Son heard all this from the bedroom. Son then revealed he had been speaking to a manager at the insurance company which had revealed the seller had been dismissed many months earlier. Health policies for son's wife had been cancelled (by the seller) some one year earlier. Company did refund some money to son's wife. Son then told his wife she was prohibited from spending one Baht on anything without his written approval. Wife then realized she had been very childish. Son kept up the approval to spend for a few months then dropped it. Wife had learned her lesson. Son went with his wife to visit her mother to check what health insurance would be appropriate and they took a policy (different insurance company). Son still monitors the policy. Wife now only buys cosmetics from Robinsons / Central festival, and requests that my son go with her.
  22. Maybe also a personal chef.
  23. Guess - anything at all that other folks can be fooled with and which will bring cash into her pocket. In a nutshell that's what 'influencing' is.
