  1. The reality: - Biden has achieved a lot of valuable goals, well documented. And yes he's old and there's concerns about whether he can do 4 years. But personally I see that point as a failure of the dems. They knew he was old and starting to get doddery but they did nothing to find / appoint a younger capable replacement and they do exist in the dem party. - Trump achieved world records for the numbers of his blatant obvious lies, untruths and attempts / successes to cause serious division, and for rudeness, arrorance total disrespect domestically and on the world stage. And he's created world records for the number of billions of $s he's 'stolen' from his naive followers who he has promises big things but hasn't delivered.
  2. And in turn, after they crawled out, they support their 'saviour', human nature. Perhaps this is a throw back to trump's father, and that's what has created trumps beliefs, attitudes, goals etc? Or perhaps it's trump alone, a very unpleasant selfish arrogant piece of xxxx?
  3. Ultimately more appropriate and useful to look at the full details of how many laws trump has broken / ignored / twisted. And how he has tried to make new laws, not needed just his attempts to get him 'off the hook'.
  4. Maybe a passenger mentioned 'breakfast' but the passenger used a wrong word, easy enough to happen. Maybe it was a snack being served because of the time expired since the last meal. No need to make an issue of it.
  5. Other posts say that this turbulence does not show up on the aircraft radar systems; in fact there is no warning of the turbulence conditions. So it seems the flight crew could not have known turbulence was coming up, therefore they could not have taken any action to avoid the turbulence.
  6. I add, if you have thai Permanent Residency PR (meaning a Certificate of Residence book) you are recorded in a standard dark blue Tabien Baan book when the PR book is issued, and this gives you entitlement to a pink ID card.
  7. What is a 'switchover switch'?
  8. Just wondering if: 1. This would be of good benefit (reduced electricity bill) if recharging an EV battery at night time? 2. Would this bring substantial bill reduction for a house which uses 3 or 4 air-conditioners most nights? Thanks.
  9. Details have been on this site before but I can't find it. My understanding is that the house owner can request a second electricity meter for electricity consumption late afternoon/ evening (perhaps this needs to be corrected) and it's at a well reduced unit cost. Previously mentioned and several members shared that their overall bill had reduced quite a lot. Would appreciate any details any member could please share. Thanks.
  10. We all have different and quite diverse growing up locations. I was born and grew up 650 Km from nearest city, small town 300,000 people, desert environment, never cold, in summer most days around 45 degrees, very low rainfall, some years none at all, a wet year 20 minutes of rain (never heavy) three time in my life from birth to 21 years old didn't rain for 3 years, only one industry mining, many pubs (miners are drinkers), no entertainment except for Saturday night outdoor old movies once a month. At 21 had to move to big city to report for compulsory national service. First time ever on a train.
  11. Transferred her by my western employer 35+ years ago. Found a wonderful Thai lady (dr. of medicine), one Thai son - my best friend in life. Achieved thai permanent Residency 27 years ago. Retired then invited to lecture at good uni. Now permanently retired, spending many hrs every day with 4 wonderful Thai grandchildren. Life is good.
  12. And seems to me he's ultimately under the directions / control of 'the big man' so he's careful what he says. This is Thailand.
  13. And you make no mention that the 'democratically elected PM' fled the country when he was charged with numerous serious offences and was about to go to jail for a lengthy period. Further, the serious offences he committed involved ordering a Thai bank to lend big money to the Myanmar government so they could buy several very very expensive products from his companies. Now he says he's 'all better' and discharged from his jail sentence / sick bed and he's weedled his way into a situation where he can resume his nefarious activities with the Myanmar gov't. His plan is working. He's tricky and he's a conman.
  14. More, for folks well familiar with this scenario, would the fact the little boy has an Aussie passport (there visa to enter Oz not needed) make it any easier: - For the Thai mother / wife to get a visa to enter Oz? - Longer term, easier for the Thai lady to get PR and citizenship?
  15. Yes but many vendors just don't do that / have no intention of doing that. As the vendors see it 'not their problem'.
  16. The paymaster has no respect for doing things through the appropriate channels, he thinks he can do as he pleases. And little doubt the folks up above have no concern - after all it's thaksin the god.
  17. But if paid automatically on line when the rder is placed the payment covers: - The food cost. - The delivery charge. On arrival at the house no further payment outstanding Rider hands over the package and (from my Thai son's friend who does this job when not at uni lectures) 99% of customers don't give any extra tips. Buyer accepts the package and closes the door, no further interaction. My son and his Thai wife buy on line a lot. They keep some cash ready to give delivery riders / drivers a tip 20 to 30 Baht.
  18. Keep up the trek for your son to get his Aussie passport even if you're trying for visas. His Aussie passport will be worth it's weight in gold in the future / long-term Good luck.
  19. And he had much experience years back with deals with Myanmar including ordering a Thai bank to loan them big funds.
  20. Had to do that many times on patrol in the jungles of the Vietnam war. Find a spot where you'll be as hidden as possible when squatting down or lying on your side, pull your pants down just enough (never take them off in an active area), squat with your a hole in fill view of your buddies (so you're looking forward of you). Do your dump or pee and as quickly as possible cover it to hide the smell as much as possible, because the enemy would quite possibly smell the faeces and know foreigners were in the area. No chance of bodily clean up, very quickly get your pants up and rifle / ammunition magazines / gear ready for any action that might happen.
  21. All depends on what you want to hit up? What is your hit up specific objective.
  22. OK but there's good reports about aircraft being manufactured / used in China. I wonder when some of the mainstream international aircraft operators will start buying Chinese? I'm guessing the aircraft would be quite a bit cheaper. (Are they already certified / licensed to fly international routes?)
  23. See through better.
  24. True, but give him time, he'll get that item fixed soon.
  25. Got to be a very very big buck to be made...
