The woman has been detained ever since at the same military base where critics of the junta were routinely taken for “attitude adjustment”
I don't see what all the fuss is about, didn't Germany have similar schemes in place in the 1930s?
What could possibly go wrong?

Incidentally, I have tried on Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox & (last 2 with Internet Explorer emulators).
I have updated all of these browsers and tried on other computers in our office but still get the same results.
Also before anyone asks, my attempts were all within the correct window (between 7 to 14 days before the report is due).
Also I did manage to successfully report using the online facility once (in August 2016) but I have had no luck since (despite numerous attempts).

I'm interested to know this as well, as I cannot get past the first stage, I get the same message as roger101.

Has anyone in the Samutprakarn region had any luck with the 90 day online report?
I fully understand the reporting window but every time that I try to submit the report I get the message of ‘For further information regarding The 90-day Notification Report Service, please contact the Immigration Branch Office in your residence area’.
I did manage to get the report to work in August 2016 but since then I have had no luck, despite trying for every 90 day report since.
I have asked the boss (sorry don’t know her rank) of Samutprakarn Immigration about this but she informed me that as far as she knew the online reporting was working for Samutprakarn Immigration.
BTW, posting the 90 day report is not an option, as my nearest post office is about 100 meters away from the Immigration office, so I would not gain anything by using this method.

I am surprised at members saying they were treated rudely by the Embassy as that is not really one of their trademarks. I admit they can pontificate at great length but not in a rude manner I have found.
Next, people need to accept that British people having problems are dealt with as a consular matter in a specific section of the Embassy. A lot of the departments operate very much independently within the Embassy walls. Some people feel that the Embassy is there purely to sort out their mistakes and errors of judgement, which it most certainly is not.
I too believed the above until it was actually explained to me by an Embassy officer ' off the record ' Do I think there is an awful lot of nonsense and partying that goes on at the WE
I am surprised at members saying they were treated rudely
I am not surprised in the slightest.
Every time that I have had to deal with Embassy in Bangkok I have dealt with rude arrogant staff.
The worst ones to deal with are the Thai staff, who believe that they are above the people that they have to deal with and as such they look down on everyone.
I never understand why anyone who does not like dealing with the 'great unwashed' would take on a job that puts them in that position.
That would be like being petrified of heights and becoming a steeplejack.

I am amazed at the sense of entitlement some have when it comes to what their embassy should be doing for them. Embassies are there to promote trade and good diplomatic relations. Providing assistance to citizens of their country is limited to things like the issuing of documents and stuff like that.
The crap some embassies and their staff get on here is ridiculous. I can just imagine what some of the embassy staff say about some of the people they have to deal with who clearly orchestrated their own problems and made no reasonable effort to adequately prepare for any of the many contingencies that can arise in a foreign country. Who'd want to be consular staff at an embassy in Bangkok and deal with some of the self-entitled citizens from their country with problems who don't take responsibility for themselves and always expect others to be there to fix them?!
It ain't their job to help you in an emergency!
Why have they contacted ThaiVisa and offered to help in an emergency for then?
If it's not part of the embassy staff's job, are they offering to provide this assistance out of the kindness of their hearts and in their own time?
Who'd want to be consular staff at an embassy in Bangkok
Who'd want to hold a position where you work minimal hours, sit around doing sod all during the hours that you do work and getting grossly overpaid for the pleasure?
God, knows, where does the queue start?

I'd love to know who you, or your family, would contact in the circumstances that the Embassy provides assistance if you won't call them!
During an emergency why would we waste time calling the British Embassy, knowing that absolutely nothing will be done.

Somehow, bearing in mind your frequently aired opinion of the British Embassy staff, I doubt that there wasn't more to it than that. What sort of help was your wife asking for?
I was basically told the same thing by the British Embassy staff in Buenos Aires when I asked for help.
The British Embassy are useless worldwide.

I won't be putting that number in my phone book, complete waste of time.
The British Embassy in Bangkok does not issue passports or visas, these are subbed out.
Their current website absolute pile of steaming and is impossible to navigate.
If you need any documents (the one thing that they still do) then you are hit with a 50 quid bill.
As for the article, I have never met a Brit abroad (in any country) who has actually been able to get any emergency help from our embassy.
As Colin rightfully proves, asking for any assistance from the British Embassy is a complete waste of time.
Any Brits who have lived here for a decent length of time will know that they British Embassy exists in Thailand only as a cushy posting.

I have also had problems trying to find L&P Worcestershire sauce.
My local Foodland has not had it on the shelves for about 4 months now and when I asked about this I was told that there was a temporary supply problem.
They did have some American made Worcestershire sauce but nothing matches the original.
I did find some L&P in Tesco Lotus but I don't think that all of their stores stock it.

No, but neither would I rule it out.
There are entire well accepted paradigms about the way things are in the universe that are based on one scientist's theory, supported by thousands of other scientists' equations that show the theory to be consistent. Not proven, mind you. Just consistent. Kind of like the old theory that the black plague was caused by foul vapors...

You beat me to it, asking this question.
So who would get the death penalty in this shot. The woman posing for the "selfie", or the guy laying on the sand taking the photo.?
........or the guy who took the photo of the guy taking the photo of the woman posing...?
It's all very confusing. Perhaps they should just give the death penalty to ANYONE taking photo's in Thailand (including the go-go bars).
or the guy who took the photo of the guy taking the photo of the woman posing...?
????

I am an old man and new technokollogy is not my thing, so please be understanding when I ask 'What is a selfie?'.
I always thought that it was a term reserved for those planks (idiots) who take pictures of themselves, the people without any friends.
However, I don't see any signs of a selfie in the picture attached to the article, only a man taking a photo of a woman.
Is taking a picture of someone else while managing to stay out of shot yourself now classed as 'taking a selfie'?

Hi Morakat,
Have you checked every single page on your work permit.
I thought that my latest work permit book did not have my address but after rechecking I found it near the back (2 pages in).
On the old work permit it was near the front.

Mad O'Rourke's Desperate Dan cow pie.
Back when there were about 6 Mad O'Rourke pubs I used to visit 'The Tumbling Sailor' in Kidderminster quite a lot.
Massive servings, if you finish off 1 complete meal you got a certificate and if you could squeeze in 2 complete meals they were free).
Great grub followed by their strong homebrew (Lumphammer Bitter) or a few glasses of homemade wine.

Probably gets recycled.
I recall that when I first got to Thailand many of the street food vendors used recycled A4 papers which were crafted into a type of bag (envelope) for packing fried foods.
I would often end up with a photocopy of someone's ID card.
