Any current reports from PP? I am wanting to go shortly and i have a lot of back to back tourists. What are my chances?
Zero.
Most Thai Embassies/Consulates in SEA apply stricter rules, you should not travel if you have more than 4 previous Thai Tourist Visa in your current passport.
On the other hand, all Thai Embassies/Consulates welcome you, if you apply , with complete paperwork, for any kind of Non Immigrant Visa.
Ty visarunner for your reply. May i ask where you have heard this information and if you have examples of actual refusals in PP?
Thank you.
Oh, called yesterday 4visarun companies and 3 said no trips at the moment and only Jacks said OK, under the condition that you do not have more than 2 previous tourist visa in your passport and they asked for certain documnets to be provided.
TY for letting us know

The only reason I am reading this thread is... it never ceases to amaze me what people can get upset about.
The outdoors parking lot at Central Airport.
What's next?
I have to disagree with you - i think the OP has an absolutely valid complaint and as a frequent visitor to airport plaza i also hope it is repaired soon.

Thanks for posting guys - i am particularly interested in poipet. I plan to go on Monday for a double.
The agent i usually use told me i need to prepare copy of bank account showing 20k baht, letter from Thai friend vouching they will take care of me were i to have no money to care for myself, copy of rental agreement or girlfriends tabien baan and a copy of their id card. Nothing was mentioned about needing a copy of flight tickets (which i do not have).
Any information at all would be appreciated.

I'm also interested - anyone?

I used to use that garage for servicing and found them nothing but polite and professional.
My GF and I both bought and serviced our cars at that garage and neither of us have have had any complaints either.

Yes, the legal system that released the Lockerbie bomber is so much more credible than the Thai one.
The UK has many faults but to suggest the UK legal system is not the amongst the fairest in the world is blatently incorrect.
It is much better to let a guilty man go free than to find an innocent one guilty imo.

Maybe the girl made a mistake and was afraid to admit?
Sometimes we feel mistreated when we are not.
I am not accusing anyone, but I have seen so many Westerners misunderstand such situations and wrongly blame the Thais that I am always skeptical of this kind of claim.
I am not saying that the OP is wrong, but am keeping an open mind.
Yep, I've see the same thing almost every time
The thing that I've noticed when I have misunderstandings with Thais over price is that the misunderstanding never goes in my favor - it always turns out to be more expensive than I thought, not less.
Yes i've noticed the very same thing.

If your True channels are scrambled, call True. There may be a problem with your CAM access card.
If you don't have one, well, that's called piracy, and of course True will regularly disable bunches of cards used for that purpose.
Dreamboxes don't use cards.
Dreamboxes can be used with a card.

Does anybody seriously think True Vision will continue to sit by happily and watch illegal suppliers charge 400 baht for full service that normally costs 1500?! Of course they will ultimately find a way to block the signal or stop the suppliers.
Although I hate True for their rubbish over priced service, I still wont have any sympathy for bleaters and moaners when your ILLEGAL feed gets blocked.
Good luck while you can get away with it...but it wont continue for ever, thats for sure.
In the meantime my decision is to reluctantly pay to True, as I want to GUARANTEE my Masters, Premiership, Wimbledon, Grand Prix coverage without danger of blocking.
My money, my choice!!
Well if SKY TV in the UK don't have a solution, i highly doubt TrueVisions will be coming up with it!!

I like Airport Plaza. In fact i like it better than anything i've found in Pattaya, Hua Hin or Phuket.
I do think there is room for another similar shopping complex in CM though as it does get crowded at the weekends.

A satellite chap who is in the biz told me that Dreambox won't work anymore because True now sends out a checking algorithm periodically to check the authenticity of the smart card. TheTrue box responds to this signal but a Dreambox can't.
Mine is working - Sorry i can't be more helpful.

Since I have 3BB Premier, I have to say my internet just works. The way it should.
It's a bit of a bummer that it's slower for torrents than a 9MB line that costs half. But on the other hand, for day to day use, Premier is the way to go. No slowdowns in the evening etc. Just works.
Should work for almost USD 100 per month too.

The option should be there though. I want to buy an altis CNG and i am not able to have airbags at all.

Can anyone recommend a good insurance broker that sells policies which pay out?
My house insurance is coming up and after reading this thread i am a little concerned.
-
I use AA for my insurance but i have never had to make a claim.
This does sound a little worrying could you provide some more information? Why were the claims refused?

Hello JRA,
Think you need to work on your Negotiating skills.
I have a lifetime membership that cost 10,000 baht. I pay 100 baht per year for renewal.
Few months later got my Filipino Wife a lifetime membership for 8,500 baht.
You can't fault California Wow for trying to get the most money that YOU are willing to pay.
Good luck.
I have the same membership but unfortunately for the OP i don't think they offer lifetime deals any longer. Please correct me if i am wrong
My membership is good for all branches except pinklao. Since i joined i've found out CW is in a bit of financial difficulty (not surprising seeing the number of cheap lifetime memberships they sold). The locations at CM and Ratchada (BKK) have been halved in size. These are 2 that i know of i'm sure there will be others. So, i guess there is a bit of a risk of all branches changing hands and the membership being worthless. I have been a member for 2 yrs so have probably had my monies worth already but if i were looking to buy a new membership i would be wary of putting a lot of money down.

True still doesnt go outside the city - but in the city they have cable with up to 100Mbit - or so they claim.
3BB goes everywhere. It's just as bad as TOT though, sometimes better, sometimes worse, seemingly at random. TOT saw a big improvement last year, and simultaneously 3BB went to sh*ts. But these things change often.
I tried both TOT and 3BB in my moo baan, both showed a tremendous slowdown at certain high traffic times - DSL traffic jam every evening.
Now I've switched to 3BB Premier. It works fine and costs 2,500 / month for 5Mbit. You get what you pay for....
2500 is a lot of money for 5mb internet. That is far more than we would pay in UK or USA. What intl download speeds are you getting for that?
I used to have 3MB premier but switched to TOT because i thought it was better value for money. Even after the disruption this month imo TOT has made a lot of improvement in the last 3 years.
-
Has any of the above changed in the last 3 years? Can you use TRUE more than 7kms out of the city? Does anyone know the procedure for 3BB - I've been in to the office and they said there aren't any 'connections' near my house but I could pay for it to be installed....obviously, this being Thailand there was no idea of cost or time frames involved.
I'm gonna refuse to pay this month's TOT bill as I'm paying for a service I'm simply not getting.
[sent from a cafe nearby]...............
Since i posted that my TOT has seen an improvement. However, this month has been the worst i've had for a long time. I have read that all isp's seem to be suffering though so i'm not sure there is much point in changing. My options in Sansai are TOT, 3BB and KSC as far as i know. There is also a signal for AIS and TRUE 3G services but i believe TRUE DSL is not available this far out.
-
It is happening on and off again this morning, but now it pretty much all Internet addresses - not just Thai Visa. Yes, I have 3BB.
Oops! This page appears broken. DNS Error - Server cannot be found.I have 3BB in Sansai and its working fine this morning with TV but did not have TV for 3 days
I do not have 3BB any longer i have TOT but i am also in Sansai.
I saw about 5 3bb service vans all congregated near a pole next to Tesco Lotus Express Sansai on Monday i think it was. They were all working very hard to fix something so perhaps they have sorted it.

Hello again.
Sorry fo my lack of clarity - i have a 7.5ft moveable dish.
I understand the Astro signal (Malaysian equivilent of UBC) is NOT free to air but pretending it was would it be possible to view it in Chiang Mai? We are 700kms from BKK (where it is possible to receive it) and i think we are on the border of the footprint in CM. If anyone could offer me some help i would be very grateful.
Cheers
Bumping this old thread in the hope of obtaining some new information.
Cheers

Tourist Visa
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
I have a single entry tourist visa. I have already extended this visa for an additional 30 days at Chiang Mai immigration. I must leave on Dec 29. However i would like to take a flight out on Jan 3rd 2012. Is it possible for me to extend for a further 7 days by paying another 1900 baht at immigration?
NB. I have many tourist visas in my passport if this is important.
Thank you for your help.
