  1. Hi

I just bought a second hand mio - its a newer model not quite 2 yrs old.

Everything seems fine apart from the maximum speed seems to be 60mph. It seems when im riding it like its capped some how. Is this correct? It is not possible to go more than 60mph?

If someone could confirm this i would be grateful.

    Thanks

  2. I have a couple of rugs that my dog has used as a toilet!!!

I would like to have them professionally cleaned. I would be grateful if someone could recommend a suitable place.

    Thanks

  3. O'Malleys house breakfast is excellent. Bacon, 2 eggs any style, sausage, beans, tomato, mushrooms and fried potato for 140baht. Includes Tea or Coffee, orange juice and 2 pieces of toast. Excellent value and good quality imo.

My only problem with O'Malleys is that often i get complaint parking my motorbike outside and am asked to move it (apparently reserved for the owner and staff). Also i like to sit in a comfortable booth which are reserved for 3 people minimum and am often alone. Because of this I only ever sit there when the place is empty but am still often asked to move. Seems a little pedantic to me.

  4. Hi

I am looking for a nice spa in Chiang mai where i can send my girlfriend for a few hours of birthday pampering.

Somewhere i could prepay or that offered gift vouchers would be ideal.

    Some recommendations would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  5. I am looking for a full time cleaning lady for my home in Sansai, CM. Must be honest and VERY reliable. Would prefer at least a little basic English and own transport is essential.

I have a dog and a blind cat that require a lot of attention. A big part of the job will be caring for them when i am away from home.

Other duties will include general cleaning, washing and ironing etc.

I will pay a good salary for the right person. Please PM me.

    Thank you.

  6. My TOT ADSL connection has been unstable for months. I live in Sansai, Chiang mai and work online. I need a stable service, one that is capable of running real time data applications like stock trading.

I have made enquiries about TRUE, CSLoxinfo and TT&T Maxnet. I have been told i cannot have ANY of these services. TRUE is not available 7kms outside the city, CSLoxinfo is full and TT&T cannot provide me with their own line for some reason (i have a TOT line now).

Apparently KSC might be possible. If its not i dont think i have any alternative but to move house?

If anyone could offer me any help or share their experiences of the internet in Chiang mai i would be very grateful.

    Thanks.

This is the office computer though (and it's half term so nobody is around).

I have no problems with the speed but how about reliability. My TOT goldyber connection in Chiang mai is a disgrace.

Unable to run any application which provides constant data streaming like stock trading applications for any period of time without interuption.

I am going to switch ISP but to who?

    Any suggestions for Chiangmai?

  8. I have got TOT in Chiang mai. All i can say is dont bother. Nothing but problems. Before this i lived in BKK and had TRUE. I had a lot less problems with TRUE and only wish i could have them here.

  9. Hi

My non B visa has expired and i am now on the free 3 extra months you get on the end of it. I am not able to renew my non B until April so i will need to go to get a 30 day exempt stamp this weekend probably at Poipet in Cambodia.

My problem is that i do not yet have a ticket for travel because i am waiting for a visa decision for my girlfriend before i make a booking. Apparently you need to have an airline ticket to be leaving Thailand within the 30 days after you receive the stamp. I know i can buy a full priced refundable ticket and refund it later with a penalty but is there any other alternative to this method?

I would be grateful for any help.

    Thanks

  10. "So the guys didn't want to go in the bar, the Thais got hostile, the guys make a complaint and are told to take it to the police station.

    Basically a big FO.

The guys get angry and return to sort it out themselves as they see that the authorities aren't interested.

They are outnumbered 5 to 1, viciously beaten and one murdered within metres of the Tourist police point and no one is held responsible.

What a f@cking sick country Thailand has turned into.

You can try and rationalise it or compare it with other countries problems, but this is an all time low."

So true - im starting to lose my patience with this country to be honest.

  11. The current situation does seem ridiculous - genuine tourists cannot now get a visa in many cases.

IMO things will definitely ease up though - i have been coming to Thailand for years and have never seen so few tourists as i have in the last 12 months. BKK is dead, taxi drivers and shop keepers are all complaining about the lack of tourists.

Here in chiangmai the night market is very quiet for this time of year, the spas are empty as are the golf courses. Many vendors have told me that this year has been the worst they can remember. I think we may find the new government take a whole new look at the visa situation.

  12. Major i have tried with the scratching posts - she doesnt use it and has ruined a lot of my furniture. I dont think its fair to have to suffer it any more. I have gone out of my way to rescue the cat and give her a lot of love. I shouldnt have to have a house which doesnt look nice though.

  13. Hi

I have had blind cat for a year and i love her very much. Unfortunately with her not being able to see she is constantly damaging my furniture.

I have just bought an expensive LCD tv and today i caught her perched on the top of it. I am petrified of her scratching it.

I love her a lot but i cant take her damaging my rugs, furniture and other valuable objects any longer. I want to get her declawed. I have heard mixed opinions on this as to whether it is cruel or not. My cat will never be able to go outside as she is blind so is it really cruel?

I would like to get some opinions from cat owners and suggestions as to where i can get it done in Chiangmai.

    Thanks.

  14. Before going with NW, try CJ Car Rental right in Tha Pae Rd, 100 mts away from Tha Pae Gate. I had a car with NW for a couple of days and actually wanted to renew my rental contract for a month, but CJ Car Rental made an offer 4000 Bahts cheaper for a better and newer car.

NW seems to prefer renting out very used and worn down cars.

    Where is bungalow bill?

  15. I have also been taking care of an injured dog in the last week or so. She has a sore leg which i am trying to fix up.

I cant take her permanently as i have a cat. This dog has a fantastic temprement - i have never seen her get aggressive and is very friendly. She is only looking for a little love please PM me if you can take her.

    Thanks.

  16. Hello

I live in Chaing Mai and recently came home and sat outside my garden was a dog with a very badly damaged paw. I couldn't bear not to do anything so i took her to the vets to try to have it fixed up. I have been feeding her and taking care of her - she has a wonderful temprement i think she must have been abondoned by a family as she is very used to human contact and very friendly. She will make a really fantastic companion all she wants is a little love. I hope her paw will heal however im sure she will have a limp due to the extensive damage. Im not sure of her breed but she is small/medium size, brown and black colour.

Unfortunately i have a cat already and also my time in Thailand is coming to an end. I am desperate to find a home for her i can't stand the thought of her having to fend for herself. Please contact me if you are able to take her - i will be quite happy to pay for her innoculations and any further treatment she might need.

    Thank you.
