    I was told by VFS Chiang Mai that my existing passport can no longer be used for international travel as of date of application for renewal. Equates to cancelled I believe. As for your case of flying to the U.K. the question that needs to be answered is would the Thais stop your son departing if the passport is flagged cancelled? Not one for me to answer.

    Was quoted 13 weeks turnaround time by VFS 3 weeks back which is what it is but current passport is cancelled on application which is a pain.

    You can buy as many single reentry permits as you so desire.

    May vary by region but in Chiang Mai first 90 day has to be done at the immigration office thereafter online.

    According to the lady at the front desk no cannot transfer visa to new passport at Festival. For what its worth told my 90 day online report didn't clear as it was the first after I reentered the country which has to be done at immigration office. New one on me. + Reentry permit at Festival no longer possible.

    Just had an appointment confirmed and see this beauty included at foot: After you have applied for a new passport, you will not be able to travel on your current passport, but you will be able to keep it for identity purposes. Is this actually true as lots can happen in the time it takes to receive a new passport. Cheers

    Border is open but today the computers on the Burmese side were down which is why nobody could cross. Once back up and running feel free to do a border hop and a bit of shopping as you so desire.

    Neurological hospital OPD on Suthep Road for Pfizer booster. There at 1100 and away by 1120. No queue and only one other person turned up while we were there. Monday-Friday 0830-1200.

    If you do visit and care for some acoustic music with your supper give The Cojon a look. It's beside Lotus and music starts at 8. Food is Thai and decent value.

    Returned from overseas a month ago and completed the online TM30 just to be safe. Went to immigration to renew retirement extension and was told online TM30 not acceptable and should have reported to immigration to update. No fine or anything but had to file a TM30 there before extension granted. Enquired as to purpose of online TM30 but no reply given. Oh well.

    Just returned from the CD market and it is operating on both sides of the road and also extends back on one side. Opens at 0500 but pretty quite at 7.

    Rajavet is another option and there are several plans you can pick from. For someone of your age would expect to pay around 4,500baht.

    Fair enough, cheers. There are other reports out there saying border isn't open for tourists but no doubt subject to change at some stage.

    Are you certain it's open for non Thai tourists either for visa run or onward travel? There has been heavy fighting recently near Kawkareik which is 30kms west of the border so not certain the junta would allow through travel at present but maybe visa runs are now allowed?

    Problem I have when transferring with Wise is that I select amount recipient is to be credited in the currency of choice and everything is fine until I hit the transfer button and Wise fees are deducted from recipient's funds rather than being added to my charge. How to ensure recipient receives precise amount? I know there has to be a way. thanks folks.

    Apply for reentry at same time of renewing retirement extension. Expiry date on both will be the same. When you return your stay will be only up to visa validity date.

    If you really want to keep things straight Star Visa will do it but cost is 1,000baht. Typically next day pick up.

    Good news. Tell me when you apply for replacement passport are you allowed to hang on to the existing one until the new arrives? Thank you.
