  1. Correct on both points. If you require next day service the fee is 500baht.
  2. 3 months a year in NZ trout fishing / 3 months wandering the Himalayas / 3 months in Chiang Mai during rainy season & the other 3 months as it comes.
  3. I'd like to think he was just having a bad day but might run a lot deeper as he really was struggling to converse and did confess to 'having problems' but didn't enquire further. Would love to see him back to Brasserie form and maybe even take over from Boy now he has passed but not sure he'd be interested so we may be left with just fond memories of both. I didnt know Tuk's lady so cant help there. Boy Blues Bar is in Kalare on Changklan but don't know what the future holds. https://www.facebook.com/p/Boy-Blues-Bar-100063491892947/
  4. Boy had inoperable cancer. RIP. Saw Tuk play an acoustic set in Santitham 6-8 months back and he was in a pretty sad state but in his Brasserie days he was absolutely superb. Tuk and Boy were cousins.
  5. Consider posting here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ChiangMaiDIY
  6. Perfect Pedigree has golden listed: https://www.perfectpedigreethailand.com/may-21-purebred-male-and-female-golden-retrievers.html If you want to talk direct to owners go to Angkaew reservoir around 1700 Sunday as there's usually 2 or 3 there.
  7. Kan Air used to operate 2 x 12 seater Cessna Caravan from Chiang Mai to Pai / Nan / Mae Hong Son and possibly Chiang Rai but they folded long ago. Dropping down between the hills and banking into MHS was fabulous. Another outfit took over the aircraft after Kan folded after getting overly adventurous running leased aircraft to Hua Hin but didn't last long. The Caravans used to be parked up at CNX but lost track many years back but would love to see the service reintroduced.
  8. No fee you pay what the passport is listed for on the government web site. I just received my passport back on Tuesday and took 2 days shy of 8 weeks.
  9. I'll tack this on here.... Passport submitted to VFS 23/03 and notified ready for collection yesterday so just shy of 8 weeks. Happy days considering up to 13 quoted. Picked up this afternoon (Monday-Friday 1400-1500) and headed straight to immigration at Festival to transfer stamps as previously reported here was possible but told cannot so headed to the airport branch where I copied as required (info page both passports + every page with Thai stamp + 90 day + TM30 + complete form) then straight to desk 3 where everything was checked then politely informed 'full today Sir come back 18/19'. Immigration is shut tomorrow 17).
  10. Corner is cut when you receive the new passport.
  11. Submitted mine 6 weeks back and was quoted up to 12 weeks. Your present passport is invalidated for international travel on application.
  12. Chanthaburi is another option for saphires and topaz.
  13. Just back from Le Pub and mightily satisfied with the roast. Opted for a large pork and just about got through it. Then went for the apple and peach crumble with ice cream for desert and not the best to be honest due to minimal fruit. Now if they only had air conditioning. That said would be a top spot for a feed during the rains. Thanks folks.
  14. Hi folks, any recommendations for a Sunday roast? I used to frequent the Palm but doesn't appear to be operating these days. cheers

For t shirts basement of Central Airport next to where the string of banks are have sizes to 5XL.
  16. I was told by VFS Chiang Mai that my existing passport can no longer be used for international travel as of date of application for renewal. Equates to cancelled I believe. As for your case of flying to the U.K. the question that needs to be answered is would the Thais stop your son departing if the passport is flagged cancelled? Not one for me to answer.
  17. Was quoted 13 weeks turnaround time by VFS 3 weeks back which is what it is but current passport is cancelled on application which is a pain.
  18. You can buy as many single reentry permits as you so desire.
  19. May vary by region but in Chiang Mai first 90 day has to be done at the immigration office thereafter online.
  20. According to the lady at the front desk no cannot transfer visa to new passport at Festival. For what its worth told my 90 day online report didn't clear as it was the first after I reentered the country which has to be done at immigration office. New one on me. + Reentry permit at Festival no longer possible.
  21. Thanks folks. Not what I wanted to hear but at least I'm aware. cheers
  22. If my online 90 day doesn't clear I'll be in there tomorrow afternoon and will enquire and report back.
  23. Just had an appointment confirmed and see this beauty included at foot: After you have applied for a new passport, you will not be able to travel on your current passport, but you will be able to keep it for identity purposes. Is this actually true as lots can happen in the time it takes to receive a new passport. Cheers
