Assuming you have the correct Soi park up and it's 50mtr stroll to the left just past the English style phone box.
Never been there for breakfast but heaps of sausages and bacon bought from there and very nice too.
Appreciate but just looking for a decent lock knife. I'm off to India shortly so will keep an eye out whilst there.
I did say I didn't want to go online as ideally like the knife in hand before purchasing but if I don't find in India I just may spring for one of those French Laguiole beauties that featured earlier.

VFS are across from Maya heading towards the hill. Very efficient service and wait time is 6-8 weeks for replacement passport I believe.

When I started this thread I was anticipating an address to appear and the thread to die within the hour but clearly some serious knife interest here. Great stuff folks.
The knife I lost - Calcutta airport for me - was a simple one but boy did I treasure it. Valtev lockable with stainless steel blade and brass and wood inlay in a scruffy nylon pouch but every single time I went fishing it always ended up in the gillies pocket so following year I bought him one which he promptly deposited in the Lidder river. Oh well.
That French offering is delightful and would likely pursue but the blade length -11 & 12cm - is way more than what I am looking for but certainly a knife to be admired.
Made it out to the Archery shop and the young lady just handed me the entire box of Buck knives to search through. Unfortunately for me the vast majority came with a clip attached which I am not interested in but did buy a smaller sized lock knife which didn't come with a sheaf or even a sheath but will do for my upcoming trip. Many thanks to Dante99 & Folkguitar.
Search to resume for the perfect knife when I return from India.
Thanks for all recommendations folks.
Appreciate the input but for now I'll limit the search to Chiang Mai.
There is/was a shop on the outside of the moat towards the north east corner that had a stellar selection of imported knives does anyone know it? I walked there yesterday dropping in any likely looking places but no joy but may have missed it.
Yes I am looking for a quality knife. I managed to loose my previous one which I had for 12 years in India couple of months back and more than willing to pay the cost of a suitable replacement.
I will check Star Dome on Thursday, thanks folks.
Hi folks, looking for a smaller blade size around 6-8cm with locking blade and ideally a sheaf. Where to look? Much prefer to buy locally rather than online.
thanks
I've lived at Rimping 15 years and it's certainly quieter now. The number of condominium blocks built across town give far more options along with the ever increasing number of moo baans along the ring roads certainly folks have plenty of choice these days.
Personally still well content here and seeing some of the prices quoted for rentals/sales around Changklan recently I would say it's an excellent option for those wanting to live in town and this being an older building - 25 years will be close - likely more solidly built than more recent offerings and condo sizes will typically be larger.
The office to renew a Thai passport is next to the convention centre so likely safe to assume they also issue new passport. Excellent set up and wife received replacement passport via EMS in 5 days.
Not sure the Super Rich branch mentioned is still there but option across the road certainly is and offers decent rates but as stated plenty of exchange options on arrival KL. Came through KLIA 2 yesterday and must have passed 3 on the way to the train station.
Don't need a passport for certificate of residency. Need to show copy of these:
TM30 / 90 day if 1 year visa / passport info page / arrival stamp / date of permitted stay + photo.
60baht if you're willing to receive through the post / 500baht if next day service.
Two unrelated options. 1. Perfect Pedigree & 2. Possible local/domestic breeder contact at the reservoir.
I doubt very much each of the goldens at the reservoir were sourced through PP. and was simply suggesting you head that way and chat with the owners with a view to establishing where they purchased.
Apologies for the confusion.
Tachilek is the major centre of many a scam enterprise (along with Sihanoukville) and plenty of folk fall for the 'too good to be true' type of job opportunities and end up trapped working for our mates from points further north.
Closed in 2015. Did relocate to Chaiyaphum Soi 1 but didn't last long. The original location is now an excellent Thai restaurant called Wanlamun Rim Nam.
