  1. Some people (not you obviously) have the saying "what the eyes don't see the heart doesn't grieve over" close to their own heart. Some people are just weak and give in to temptation. What's true for you in love and fidelity doesn't mean is true for everyone. As you say we will have to agree to disagree.
  2. You're right you didn't use the word "love", but her having an affair (as seems plausible or likely even) is not evidence that she is unhappy in her marriage. She may be or she may not be. We just don't know.
  3. Whilst I have generally agreed with your thoughts on this topic, I think your observation here is over simplified. I personally believe it is very possible to love one person and then have sex with yet another person (sex does not always equal love). The human psyche and people's motivations are not so black & white and indeed can be very complicated (often sparked by the situations they find themselves in - like alcohol, recent arguments etc, leading to impromptu decisions). Some people feel that if they were to have sex with someone else it would be because they didn't love their current partner any longer. But what is true of one person is not necessarily true of another
  4. We don't know that it wasn't, but I believe it is not uncommon in rural areas for people to make cash transactions even for that amount
  5. Whilst I don't lack sympathy for anyone falling victim, I worry less about that as I am fully vaccinated. Of course the more of us vaccinated the more quickly the better.
  6. As others have said, lack of antibodies doesn't automatically imply that the effect of the vaccine has "run out" and is no longer helpful. The T-cells are still there having learned and remembered how to fight infection
  7. Well that's more than a little worrying. 59 people still became seriously ill even after a booster shot
  8. True. I should perhaps have said perishables ????
  9. ???? I'll be doing that come Nov/Dec. Floods every year
  10. With Lazada & Shopee there are far fewer things you need to go out to shop for, other than groceries of course
  11. Consider yourself lucky too. I was given a date of 3rd Nov. Mind you this was via my local hospital. I have heard nothing at all from Expatvac since I registered on 2nd Aug. When I asked the (very friendly) woman at the hospital why it was such a long wait, she replied that Thai people must be vaccinated first. Consequently, some weeks after my appointment was given to me, my 23 year old niece and 15 year old nephew received notification of their vaccination dates in October
  12. Efficacy gets better as people "get younger"? That's only going to help Benjamin Button ????
  13. You sound like a voracious "between the lines" reader
  14. In a managed facility for 10 days. Posted on Twitter this morning by UK Embassy
  15. Same here (Nakhon Si Thammarat). I'm 58 though
  16. With the dates they gave me, it looks like I have plenty of time to see if Expatvac come through ????
  17. Absolutely. One other thing. I asked them why the first available date was so far away. They replied that they now only have sufficient vaccine to administer 2nd shots but they don't have any vaccine available for 1st shots. They have run out. I would also like to add that the woman I spoke with was very friendly, polite and tried to be as helpful as she could
  18. I just came back from my local hospital (Tha Sala in Nakhon Si Thammarat). I asked to be registered and they allowed me to do so (photocopy of my passport - just the front page, phone number and address). When I asked how long it would be before the vaccine would be administered, they told me that anyone registering today would get a date of 3rd Nov 21 for SV followed by AZ. They then said I would have to wait about 5 days via SMS for confirmation. I also told them that I had registered on expatvac on 2nd Aug and they checked my passport number in their system. They found nothing
  19. Since none of these vaccines are 100% effective against infection, but whose primary benefit is to prevent serious illness and death, it looks to me like your Sinovac shot proved effective. Without it your experience may well have been much worse that being "under the weather for 2 days"
