Just heard on another forum from a well connected member. Who states it is now confirmed that they will not issue any extensions to existing visas without an embassy letter. Without you will have to leave the country when the amnesty expires. Even if you have not had a previous extension prior to the amnesty.

I read an article that 2 studies had show that approximately 70% of males that have died from covid 19 were bald or had male pattern baldness which is mostly related to high levels of androgens. Potentially indicating that it may make you more susceptible to severe covid 19 illness.

Didn't they say they were going to limit arrivals to 200 foreign tourists a day ? I didn't realize there were 7500 days left in the year. ????

It is a bit of both plus that the surge in cases in the south & west have been disproportionately in younger people as that is who rushed out into bars etc when they reopened. What remains to be seen is whether this will be followed by a spike among older people. They do after all often live in the same family.
The death rate often peaks several weeks after the rise in infection numbers, probably too early to tell yet. Though one Texas doctor i saw on the news stated the patients they are seeing now are ten time sicker than patients they were seeing in March/April.

Then in Melbourne cases started to pop up, the media started screaming 2nd wave, and the rush for toilet paper restarted. Parts of Melbourne are now under house arrest for 6 weeks. So again we see this is not about easing the burden on hospitals, the idiots are trying to exterminate a virus.
So will be no travel bubble between Oz and Thailand any time soon.
Latest research suggests that a 20% infection rate confers herd immunity, in other words the virus will die out naturally. This news was of course not well received by vaccine makers. The US is in a panic as cases rise, the media is going wild. What they are not reporting in that the death rates have been falling for weeks and continue to do so. Assuming this continues the whole thing should be over within 6 months. If so then we'll all wonder why governments in most countries got it wrong and destroyed their economies.
Please show us accurate research that 20% confers immunity

thailand certainly has a bee in its bonnet about healthcare. i'm sure this happens in many countries, especially popular tourist destinations, but the adverse financial/economic cost is far outweighed by the income from tourism, the situation just needs to be monitored and managed effectively.
my australian inlaws were over a few years ago and needed hospital treatment, they were given the excellent care that any uk citizen would receive, they should have paid, were billed, and said they would pay, however they just skipped off home. i have no doubt this happens all the time but is managed by the uk government without bureaucratic measures being applied to tourists, because guess what? the uk wants and welcomes tourists as they are a great source of income for the country.
however every country has the right to deal with domestic issues as they see fit, and as i said, healthcare is a very sensitive issue for thailand.
Doesn't the UK and Australia have a reciprocal Health Agreement

The idea that herd immunity has to be at 60% and up to get any results is completely false. Think about it for a moment - who are those 6% who already got it? They are the people most likely to get it because they have the most contact with other people. There are significant portions of the population that have less contact with others who wouldn't get it even if they're not immune. Think elderly, kids who stay at home, stay at home moms, unemployed basement dwellers, and anybody who self-isolates. In reality you need closer to 20-30% to get herd immunity as the virus will just die out if it can't feed on the population most likely to get it. In places like New York and Stockholm they're basically done with it - it's dying out - and it's not due to "social distancing", it's due to the fact most active people already had it. There won't be a "second wave" there. For the rest of the world - yes - a second wave is coming and there will be a third and a fourth if they don't just let it runs it's course.
So the stay at home mum never goes to the shops , the basement dweller never takes delivery of his pizza in person and the elderly never get visits from their family ? I think you are just changing the science to suit your own narrative. There still is no consensus that those who have been infected will retain immunity long term so its still very much a hypothetical that herd immunity can even be achieved. Its still way to early to think that its still over for places like New York or Sweden.

Will this include Americans? At the rate they are going they will be testing herd immunity by August!
Not likely. If current estimates of people who have had the virus at ten times known cases is correct that is still only 6% of the population. Still another 54% to get to herd immunity. Some areas might get there quicker then it will just move on to other areas. Its pretty much a runaway train in the USA now. Who knows what the final destination will be.

Still less than 1% of annual global deaths in a NORMAL year. What's all the fuss about?
Give it another 6 months through the Northern winter and then we will look at the numbers

And the airlines are going to put on flights for 200 pax a day ? They are dreaming. The stuff they come up with without thinking of the reality or logistics is just completely laughable.

There have been dire prophesies of Thailand's impending doom for the past 30 years, but the place nevertheless goes from strength to strength.
So a country that cant afford to feed the people is going from strength to strength ?

So the average spend is approximately $1400. Sounds a bit on the low side to me if that includes all accommodation, meal, drinks and shopping ??

Second wave - bad news in Australia. All looking good, then in last 2 days some increase in numbers allowed in restaurants, sports, family gatherings etc.
Very quickly in Victoria in 1 day 25 new infections found, next day 10, also bad numbers in NSW.
There's a long way to go yet....
What bad numbers in NSW ?virtually all in NSW are hotel quarantine cases.

Do they not know that the projections are that the second wave will start around the 1st of September in the northern hemisphere. It is projected that that daily deaths in the USA will go up from 800 per day to 1800 per day in September alone and continue to rise through the northern winter.
There won’t just be passengers on the planes. -
The projected Covid19 cases for the Americas and Europe in the northern fall/winter period do not look promising. you can probably apply that to the whole northern hemisphere. Thailand should just effectively write off tourism for this year and work on how they can stimulate the economy domestically or they will end up becoming the next big casualty.

I have one at home in Australia. Dimplex 4.4kw reverse cycle. Cools and heats the 50sqm living area with 3m ceilings no problem at all. I bought it on Ebay for $150 it was only 12 months old . It is slightly noisy but not overly have owned several over the years and its probably the quietest i have had. Input power is 1600w so its relatively economical to run.
