US and UK I'd say. Most of Europe now has a grip on it and are on their way to containment. We'll see how Spain manages opening up, will be interesting with the inflow of tourists.
EDIT: Forgot about Sweden. They are now a pariah even among the nordics. Others are ready to open while they must stay in isolation. Great strategy for the "herd immunity" there.
Yes. Seems like the Sweden has got it right thread has gone deadly quiet

Strange. Cant really see them filling flights to or from Brisbane or Auckland any time this year. It would have to be just for repatriation as its unlikely either countries borders will be opening up this year other than between each other.

Sounds like a system being used in the west for about 5 decades ????

As with Emirates, I think this is more of a planning/marketing excercise than it is a real re-start. Many of the countries listed either still have their borders closed or have imposed quarantine stipulations.
For example, as far as I know, Singapore is still closed and Australia has a 14 day quarantine in place. With Australia, maybe they are 'testing the water' to see how many people are prepared to accept the quarantine requirement?
Australia is still closed too. 14 day quarrantine is for returning citizens and permanent residents or those permitted to enter on compassionate grounds. I think it would be unlikely that they will open the international borders here except for NZ and the pacific Islands this year.

They are scared. They know that the Thai health system would not even be able to cope with a moderate outbreak, let alone a large outbreak like in European Countries. Most western countries have used the lockdown to fortify their health systems for a potential second wave or large outbreak as we have been doing here. I haven't seen any news of that happening in Thailand and the Government has already stated i can not afford widespread testing. If Thailand was to get a large outbreak it would likely be a disaster.

It will be interesting to see just how quickly Thailand opens up to China again.

Now that is a good idea.

Where is the cash going to come from to get the airline off the ground again ? Its not like its going to make any profit in the next two years and it will bleed heavily in that time. The so called bankruptcy supervision and restructure is essentially a government bailout by stealth in an attempt to delude the country that the government is not going to provide the airline with further funding.

But, what about the little guy? The common man? Fauci earns $384,000 in salary, plus countless benefits, plus fees for speaking engagements, etc. etc. Quite a far cry from 65% of Americans who had only two months or so, of savings once this thing started.
You cannot keep an economy shut forever. You have to let the people get back to work. You use whatever safeguards you can, and you develop herd immunity, and let the immunity system do it's work. You continue to isolate the elderly and the most vulnerable as much as possible. This experiment in insanity, known as an economic shutdown, was never supposed to be forever, or long term. It is devastating tens of millions in the US, and hundreds of millions worldwide. There are people in India and Africa spending their entire day trying to find one potato and some rice.
There are a lot of people who are collecting a paycheck, or a handout, or receiving their monthly pension who are calling for a longer shutdown. For those of us who work for a living, or those of us who are self employed without massive savings, this thing is killing us.
Why cant America the great and wealthy nation provide substantial income support to its people like less wealthy nations such as Australia and the UK ? How utterly embarrassing it is to see everyday Americans queuing by the thousands and thousands just to get food.
The fact the same is happening in Thailand is understandable but in America ? just makes me gobsmacked.

So the monthly testing figures if as above 34k represent a test ratio of O.05 % of 70 million population.
They are congratulating themselves on a zero but having tested only a tiny fraction of 1 percent of the people.
It is truly representative of Thailands normal farcical charade! but not an indication of the true Covid 19 situation in the kingdom........
your maths needs improving its 0.0005%

Many people in the USA think that there was an overreaction. Especially when you are one of the 30 million unemployed without getting assistance or if you live in areas that have hardly any cases.
Antibody studies show that maybe 10 to 15% of the population had the virus without knowing it.. so mortality is fairly low.
But nobody in power will be able to admit that the used a meat cleaver instead of a surgical scalpel to attack the virus and protect old and sick people
There is still currently no reliable antibody tests so that point is totally moot

Chlorine does not kill COVID on contact:
To effectively kill the virus, make sure the surface stays wet with the disinfectant for at least 10 minutes before wiping with a clean towel. If an EPA registered disinfectant is not available a 2% chlorine bleach solution can be used.
Chlorine in swimming pool water is measured in single digit parts per million.
.1 % is all that is required to kill the virus.

As a generalization Thailand is a magnet for cheap charlie holidays. Once airfares double post pandemic to keep to social distancing rules, probably 75% of Thailands regular tourist demographic will not be able to afford to travel. The pain will be real and it wont just be a short sharp shock but a long protracted slow climb back to any reasonable tourist numbers.

Hit the nail on the head. Nothing to laud about the Swedish model. 3 weeks ago they had less cases and deaths then Australia. Look at them now they have one of the highest rates of death for known infections. The reality is most of Sweden is in a self imposed lockdown as they are mostly afraid to go out, the ones that are going out are probably the ones that are dying.
Who cares what WHO say i don't think any country is taking any notice of them anymore after their gross incompetence in handling the pandemic from the beginning. They are past relevance to the pandemic and don't really have anything to offer. Countries are relying on their own experts and data.

Because they are not testing so they have really know idea what is out there, they are just stabbing in the dark and hoping for the best. If the figures were real they would be relaxing restrictions more like New Zealand and Australia.
If the Thai numbers were correct most other countries would see it as elimination given the population size of the country.
