    Why is that?

Are you of the opinion that they have done something wrong, something they should be ashamed of?

This is not the time to protect individuals privacy, one of them happened to bring a deadly virus to Samui and anybody who has been in contact with them should be made aware of that and get tested.

So it’s safe to say that when you get it you are going to put a sign up outside your home to let us know your are infected so we can keep away from you.

How did this spread to so many people attending this boxing event ?

all from possibly one person ?

I find that hard to believe - were they all touching each other

No need they all just touched the same railing, door handle etc that an infected person touched. Then probably touched their face or ate with their hands.
The best defense is hand hygiene and keeping your hands away from your face.

    Pictures taken at 5.30am?

Like the ones taken of the Chinese airlines check in zone last week that claimed to be immigration?

Lots of clues there. But if I was a betting man I would say it was about 11.05 am

I would not, my Scandinavian home country is relatively 4-5 times as dangerous, counted on registered corona virus cases compared to number of inhabitants; i.e. Thailand seems 4-5 times more safe.

Also, Thailand ranks in Top 6 on the WHO list for countries best prepared for handling epidemi/pandemi, actually higher on the list than my home country, which is known for an excellent health care system.

COVID-19 seems to be only dangerous for sick or elder people, often with other deceases reducing efficiency of their immune system; most of the fatal cases are in average around 80 years old, and more males than females (I read that average age for all fatal cases is 81 years).

Children seems not to be hit, or hit very mild, and younger people recovers. The latest WHO report (news article from March 4) said that there might be 10 times as many infected with SARS-CoV-2 (Corona virus) as registered, as many infections are so mild that people dont get sick, or don't get sick enough to be noticed as corona virus victims. The recorded little over 3 percent fatality might, based on that, rather be around 0.3 percent, and thereby in level with a normal influenza epidemi; between 290,000 and 690,000 people die every year from influenza – about 3,000 died in two month from COVID-19.

If you are healthy and not in a risk group, or high risk group, would you cancel your trip because of an influenza epidemi?

Again if you really believe the current figures ??
One of the best prepared countries? Maybe on paper. But what if the beep hits the fan ?

Let's remember that there has been one death in Thailand from the new flu virus (oh, let's call it something unsettling; how about novel coronavirus?).

So your chances of dying in the land of sly smiles (so far) is one in 69 million.

The chances of you getting it at all are 48 in 69 million.

So if you are altering plans on the basis of getting sick, you are insane.

If you are altering your plans because of overreaction and the possibility of having to be under self-imposed house arrest for 14 days, then that's a real thing.

Based on the assumption the official figures are true. Not all of us are gullible.
