Maybe start with a stool test for potential parasites or bacteria. Ask for a PCR test if available. As some parasites are cyclical and can take multiple samples to get a correct diagnosis and false negatives are common. It sounds like it could be a mild case of giardiasis. But always best to test first rather than taking a stab in the dark approach to treatment.

The authorities need to pull out ALL of the stops now and quit pussy-footing around, simply blaming the rise in numbers to the Delta variant. There are a lot more causes than just the Delta variant:
- Authorities (politicians) need to put all resources into securing and distributing vaccines everywhere, not just Bangkok, and from all sources globally instead of continuing to favor home-based sources. All of this talk about lack of supply is hogwash. Worldwide, there are ample supplies available to those governments determined to get them. What's lacking here in Thailand are politicians with the resolve and the determination to cut all the red tape and political shenanigans that are currently being played out.
- There needs to be an acutal halt to intra-provincial travel that is actually enforced, even travel between Deep-Red zone provinces. The present travel restrictions and road checkpoints amount to nothing more than political bluffing. Anyone who has travelled from Pattaya to Bangkok since they started knows they are not being enforced at all.
- The public also needs to take this much more seriously, and the authorities need to make sure they do. There are entirely too many people walking around in public selfishly not practicing proper social distancing and mask wearing.
Who would have imagined one year ago when we barely had any cases of Covid that we'd be where we are today?
That is Delta for you. A variant that spreads so fast it makes contact tracing futile.

To a point. But as we see the health system becomes more overwhelmed the fatality rate is likely to increase as ventilators and oxygen become in short supply.

If going on those figures of 19,000 cases to 94 deaths then I make it 0.5% mortality rate
Might be best to wait and see how many of the 8.5k active cases go.

In order to believe it is 1.5% based on that calculation you would also need to believe that Thailand is testing and finding every single person who has Covid and there are no undiagnosed cases in the country.
So either Thailand is doing an amazing job with testing or the mortality rate is lower than 1.5%.
You also have to believe they are counting the deaths properly too.
mall the people passing in their homes and on the street. Are they being counted?- 1

Thailand’s mortality is less than 1% (0.82%).
Hmmm ????. You don’t think the government is fudging the numbers a bit, do you? That would be dishonest!
Wrong.
You need to look at it as a percentage of concluded cases not total cases.Which makes it about %1.5.
Many of the current 150k active cases will also succumb to Covid.

Relocating to samui. Isn’t that what you are looking for as well ? I wanted to learn from your experience to see what area you found to fit your needs, I’m looking for the same thing quite and away from tourists but not too remote.
I don’t live there but go as often as I can. Will make it permanent one day

Australia signed for an additional 40 million in April delivery to commence in October. Original order of 20 million doses is only coming in at 5 million a month. So it is unlikely having left it this late that Thailand will see any significant number of doses delivered this year.

Interesting. Person in Oz tests positive having had 2 pfizer jabs. Became symptomatic and deemed infectious.
I believe one of the icu patients also was fully vaccinated and another had first dose. No details on which vaccine though.

Australia is currently taking about 3,035 people each week into hotel quarantine, and that's after the total was cut by 50%.It was until recently about 6,000.
Official figures a few weeks ago where about 160k had been granted exemption to leave the country. That figure does not include travel in NZ travel bubble.

I'm currently in the UK and desperately trying to return to Thailand (but failing).
Had my 2nd AZ vaccine on 19th June. My friend (also fully vaccinated) tested positive for Covid 10 days later. I immediately had a government PCR test which returned negative even though I had symptoms. I availed myself of a couple of boxes of free Lateral Flow Tests and have tested myself daily ever since. After 3 days I tested positive and self isolated. 5 days later I tested negative and have done ever since. I no longer have any symptoms and am no longer isolating. The UK government is unaware that I have had Covid.
Free lateral flow tests would be a big benefit to the Thai population. However complete and effective vaccinations are the answer. I had something no worse than the flu and didn't feel the need to visit a hospital, I put that down to having already been fully vaccinated.
But as demonstrated but your own experience lateral flow test do not work well in the initial stages of infection and also at the trailing end.
False negatives are common in theses periods. Meaning people will still go out believing they are negative. That is why they are not widely used.

Anutin in his letter says he expects AZ to increase supplies from SBS to 10 million a month. So it seems he’s pressing AZ to to siphon off vaccine contracted to go to TL’s neighbors to make up the number, rather than TL imposing an export ban. Some very tough negotiations ahead.

Unlike to happen even if they ban exports. EU tried it once with a small shipment to Australia and that was the last you heard of it. Banning the export won’t necessarily give them access to the product. I’m sure there is plenty of fine print in the manufacturing contact to cover that and AZ would likely pull their license to manufacture.

Can't you read? I wrote that 14.600 Swedes died from Corvid, less than Belgium with a similar population, a country that locked down. Swedes are buying new cars, boats and house prices are increasing, Swedish citizens has never been as wealthy as they are now.
Yes I can read.
What about those that died because the government failed to manage the situation properly. Maybe they and their families still wish they were still here to share in the riches and buy themselves a new car or boat.
But they can’t as they are no longer here due to poor management.

It was hard during the very cold winter months, some days was minus fifteen Celsius, but for me personal freedom is very important. Sweden has not locked down one single day so far and no crazy facemask rules when outside like most other countries in Europe. I have received two shots of Pfizer for free and there are only twenty Corvid patients in ICU care in the whole of the country now. 14.600 Swedes died from Corvid, less than Belgium with a similar population, and they locked down their country. The Swedish economy is doing great and life is like normal here. When this pandemic is over the Thai military "government" will face a <deleted>storm I believe, destroying a big percentage of the economy by creating a fear situation amongst the population. I really hope that they will be held responsible for the mess that they have created.
You failed to mention that Sweden has a very high death rate per capita. At 18 months in Thailand would have to have 100k dead to be on par with Sweden. So please tell me again how wonderful things have been in Sweden. By their own admission they have failed miserably.

by comparison 32% of all deaths worldwide are due to heart attacks.....admittedly we all have to die of something.
I think you need to go back to the drawing board and do some proper research rather than pulling incomparable figures out of the air

Not correct. You calculate death rates on concluded cases ie those that have recovered or passed. Many of the known active cases of 110k may also pass away. So more accurately it would be 3300 deaths out of 220k concluded giving a fatality rate of 1.5 percent.

Central region -12%. Would this have anything to do with not testing in workers camps/C19 prisons.
Very likely and most likely also due to limiting testing at hospitals that are already at breaking point. It’s also possible and probably highly likely that the labs have reached their capacity to turn around the test within a reasonable timeframe. If that is the case then any increase in numbers will reflect an increase in positivity rate.

Earlier @anchadian posted info about Australians being able to register for AZ vaccine to be administered on Sunday.
You make appointment via Au embassy Thailand website.
I just registered. Bit strange. You don't get appointment. Just turn up Sunday 1pm +
Bit weird is confirmation page.
Anyway the booking link in up.
Don't blame me if it's another red herring.
They most likely have 50 shots.
Edit: I don't know why this post is in bold type.
Another edit. Just went back to the site. It states places are limited. If your successful they email you back at some point.
Australia has plenty of AZ to spare as most here don’t want it. I’m sure Scomo has sent enough.

Are they referring to SB as AZ for this purpose since the lab is producing AZ or is this from overseas. Just a little confused
SB would be likely be producing under license for AZ but would have no real say on the distribution. May well also production issues at the SB plant responsible for delays.

They need to get updated as the symptoms from delta are a lot different than other variants. Generally appears just as a cough and general cold symptoms rather than the previous fever loss of taste etc.
