We have been back in Thailand 16 yrs now,but when we lived in the UK i always remember going to the barber ,where he trimed the little hair i had and charged 7 quid, when we left the wife took me straight to the shopping mall and baught a hair clippers for around 10 quid, never been to a barber since  just one new set of clippers about 3 yrs ago. Saved a load of cash????

Just kidding but, you stated 16 y(t)ears ago you had little hair, no wonder you save on it now.... ????

It sadly is always the same complainers who give us a bad name. It was the same on Sunday as it is in the supermarkets, banks, restaurants, really everywhere.

Bunch of old chaps sat next to me being <deleted> off that they had to fill out a form "we gave all that information already online" (which is completely incorrect on top of it). They then continued complaining about non organisation (which again was fake news) only to miss the instructions to move on to the next station because they were so focused on complaining.

I used to try to reason with these people in the past, after many fruitless attempts I just moved on to tell the Thai people to ignore them and that they annoy us as much as them with their negativity and rudeness.

It was a well organised machine which was only slightly disrupted at the beginning which was most likely caused by so many people ignoring their appointment time and coming first thing in the morning. Well done to all involved organisations.

Isn't that the main problem at airport IO's too. Entry or Exit cards not filled in.. Etc,

I am not sure about that but if you take them and start scooting your butt on the floor or feel compelled to raise your head and go baa, you are having a side effect and you should discontinue immediately.

I didn't post the post you are replying to. I replied to the same post explaining I don't know about this medicine. But I ate cat food and am still OK.... Something got mixed up in IT...

I'll go with the shot after the shot, but remember what happened to Samson when the Philistines cut his hair? It's the present Philistines who are responsible for the curbs on alcohol! Bloody Philistines! We need another Nebuchadnezzar!  ????

As long you don't get shot it'll be ok. ????

I'm due for my jab on Wednesday. My wife has just said that I shouldn't drink caffeine and alcohol before or after. Where does this nonsense come from? The way things are going, a dose of covid might be preferable. These rumours will be the death of me!????

Preferably drink alcohol after the shot BUT do definitely get a haircut prior to it. ????????

I could write a book about Thailand and its hidden treasures, but I doubt I'd make much money. There are already hundreds of books published about almost every aspect of LOS. I'd just be joining a crowded field.

What would be viable IMO would be a proper VDO travel documentary series of Thailand. Unfortunately such would cost large and I don't know anyone willing to give me loadsacash to do anything.

    Don't ask me. ????

OldCroc -Do you know of any of those "Popular tourist haunts"  "all over the planet"--that you read about, where the leader of that country has asked his own people there to stop ripping off the visitors.?

    Its completely unparalleled.

PM tells Phuket to stop ripping-off tourists.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has warned that Phuket's reputation as a tourist destination will suffer if local people do not stop trying to rip-off foreign visitors.

His message was passed on by Werachon Sukondhapatipak, a member of the prime minister's working team.

    Working team?????

    No dispute there.

I have friends in Pattaya who really like it and think it the best place.  Friends in Hua Hin who think it the best.  I have a friend in Chiang Mai who thinks it the best spot.  I even have friends (via my wife) who live in Bangkok and they wouldn't dream of living elsewhere! ....   I have visited these friends in Pattaya, Hua Hin, Chiang Mai, Bangkok (plus visited many other Thailand places that don't have friends living there) and none of those places are for me.  But when visiting my friends, we each look at each others view point with some puzzlement and amusement.  We all (each of us) disagree as to why we should envy the other's location to settle, and each think we chose the best to settle

And maybe that's good - we all don't try to settle in the same location.

Excellent point of view... Nothing to add or change.
