    Sangsom = for proofs

Lao Khao = for men ( until premature death )

No self respecting rural peasant would drink Sang Som unless it was given away free with a bottle of coke.

I have just finish a bottle of small Lao Khao and bitter lemon and am about to tackle wifey with back turned under the sheets.

Who will benefit from this remains to be seen.

Not really, some countries are just starting to apply that restriction a lot of others still don't.

Apart from the "story" being <deleted>, hypothetically the fuss is over unnecessary bureaucracy and with the bonus of extra cost to the individual (4-10K for a test I believe) which guarantees pages in double digits of whinging even after it's been proven as <deleted>.

I agree but a majority of countries require the test already. About spreading rumors: did you have a look at Th news this morning where they mention the 'problems' with the vaccine in Norway?????

AFAIR Richard Barrow himself mentioned it in his Facebook post where he reported about the new law. It’s either in the main post itself or in the comments section. Pretty sure I saw it there.

As many times: I heard from a friend who's relative has heard from his wife who knows the neighbor's cleaning staff......

This order has nothing to do with extensions, this is just wrong information. How about some fact checking before sharing something?

It was also decided several months ago, as you can see from my thread to which you poster above linked, nothing really new here.

Besides that, I don't understand the big fuss... A negative test is required for anyone anywhere in the world wanting to enter another country...

..Warorot, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Mae Sai, Sankamphaeng, Mae On, Phrae, Nan, Pua, Chompoo and i would safely say almost every day market of every large town in every province..Ive seen them ..eels, frogs, crabs, both salt and freshwater, insects, fishes, shrimp both sea and fresh, pork, chicken, all unfrigerated or cooled, just sitting there in buckets or basins of water or no water thrashing about, or trussed up in their death throws in a stinking market with flies being squatted on the meat they're crawling on, then flicked off. These are the markets your everyday low income earner has to go to. Are you a RimPing man!

Not your fault if you haven't gotten out and about to experience it.

Out in the countryside you see the grey and the white herons and cranes that fly in from Vietnam (the declared origins of the Mers and Sars viruses)..these graceful flying things bring and spread all sorts of disease.

Then of course there are rats, turtles, snakes, dogs, rogue elephants, protected barking deer, leopard etc that are eaten as well in these areas. Most are hallowed creatures, but when it suits them the people still eat them.

Up country, that's outside the snugly urban area are caves and jungle where the wild bat lives. These are essential in most parts of the world for the pollination of flowers on crops and trees and plants so as the world has on ongoing supply of fresh fruit and vegetables and cereal crops.

However one bat, the commonly known 'horse-shoe bat' appears to be the culprit in spreading Sars-CoVi-2 virus.

YouTube has a lot of interesting videos on these markets with one BBC crew filming them not that long ago.

Wikepedia has a lot of good references.

Another good reference is the WHO, called the World Health Organization, they have a lot of data and even statistics on the number of cases of each member country, including deaths, yes 'jomtienisgood' humans have died, didn't you know how filthy humanity is and just how the other (more than half) live?

We are lucky in our Westernization we eat freshly prepared foods that have been certified and strictly controlled.

Don't you think it time China, Thailand and all the other countries urgently stopped these dangerous practices?

You had best make sure you wear a mask, eye protection, disposable gloves, safe distance yourself from the rest of humanity, as it appears your know nothing.

    Keep safe.

Despite some animals are living and eaten here, the population eating it, never died of it, nor get infected a lot. I think I spent more time than you will ever be capable of doing in what you call ' up country' areas.... Never got sick eating there.... I would also add that if the local food was that dangerous to eat,you mentioned rats, but didn't mention to eat, there wouldn't be any locals left since long....The regions you mention, like China, are used to wearing masks long before it was ever mentioned in Western world; I think it is YOU who should protect yourself more. Maybe you forgot, or are not aware, horses are also food in large parts of Europe.....Not Wikipedia source, experience.....

All the so called hiso's in Europe, and many others not so hiso, have fled to Dubai for Christmas/NY, then some onwards to Maldives, so I guess they were not too excited about the Thai Government's generous invitation to quarantine.

Dubai sounds like a great place for Christmas. Luckily I have never been there around that period, only many times during Ramadan.....

Did you get your vaccination recorded in the WHO-style international vaccination certificate?

This looks like an American vaccination book, mine looking slightly different because issued by : Institut Pasteur(Fr) but it has same purpose and validity...

I wonder how they'll distinguish between Thai nationals and non Thais if it's in the ticket. Many years ago there was a 1000thb tax only Thai people had to pay when departing Thailand, and that was on top of the normal departure tax everybody had to pay (back then it was paid cash at the airport when checking in for the flight). That 1000 thb had to be paid at the airlines' offices in town.

    Yeah I remember that.

The sounds correct. Often swamps are a part of a flood plain. In this case the area was long used to alleviate or prevent Bangkok flooding, and that is part of the reason there was so much controversy surrounding the development of Swampy. The location of the airport in the natural floodplain of Greater Bangkok has created tension between the flood protection needs of the capital city, and the imperative to protect the airport itself from flooding. As one of the lowest lying areas in the east of the Chao Praya Basin, Cobra Swamp receives run‐off from the wider basin, and thus from Bangkok itself. Indeed, such flood risks underpinned arguments that were made in the press at the time of the approaching final approval of the project. Presciently arguments were made, that the reduction of the flood retention area to the east of Bangkok as a result of the airport’s construction increased the risk of a flood disaster for greater Bangkok. These concerns were to be realised in the 2011 floods that affected the whole of the lower Chao Praya Basin.

Yes, exactly as I remember. I also remember we never had that high water level in Asoke as then .....
