Actually it is you who does not understand.

He just described one method. In another method, you do not need a private key at all. But since Microsoft claim that the free upgrades ended in 2016, does that make the upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 illegal?

I will reply to the OP's question separately, so that anyone can find the answer without having to read your 'efforts'.

So, are you saying you do not need a key before nor after the upgrade?

    Incorrect!

Install Windows 10 using the "I don't have a product key" option and then make sure you select the correct version to install.  After that, activate it with the W7 key.

Hey, are you from a planet that do not understand so well?

Ok, have the key first, and install after or install first and activate with the key later. What´s the difference? You do not need a key in both cases.

Did you have an AA-grade in Semantics in school?

Why going through the trouble of administratively relocating, when there is no need for doing so as you can do the 90-day reports on-line (and confirming that from an administrative IO point of view your Ubon official address, has not changed).

    > See also post #9 for someone in similar situation as yourself.

Because it would be the correct way, and not the way some people do it to get rid of the problem as quick as possible.

I spend 6/6 in Ubon & Chiang Rai. My extension was obtained in Ubon, I have yellow book for Ubon but only renting in Chiang Rai. Do I need some paper from the rental owner or just need to go to the office in CR and inform them my address and they will allow me to do my 90 day report in CR.

For it to be done the correct way, you would need to have a copy of the rental agreement, copy from the owners blue book and id. Many people do not do this as they try to say. That is not because it is not right. It´s just because they can´t ar5e themself to do the work. However, not because they usually do but, immigration might choose to do an unannounced home visit. And if your neighbours say that you haven´t been there the last 60 days, but you made a 90 day report on it 10 days ago? The chance that it happens is very small, but better to do things the right way. I have been doing the right way, and what they ask me, for around 23 years. Never a problem.

Errr, nobody found that out. It's only an anonymous person writing on a forum. ????

Though, when somebody is wrong online, they do often shout 'I've done it!' ????

Not that somebody doing it with the consulate in Malta would make any difference, as not all embassies and consulates are the same.

    101.

I thought you would turn the conversation that way. That´s also what people do when they know that they have lost. I can´t care less. Just trying to give my experience as an information to others that might need to know. If you don´t need and have another solution then up to you. Just leave it with that.

After that you are laughing at me???? I am not the one with the problem, Am I?????

    That's great.

    Some more education:

Not every embassy or consulate are the same. ????

To me it seems like you need education, and not me. First you laugh at the two embassy/consulates I mentioned. When you find out I have personal experience of using them as a non-citizen, then it´s that all ain´t the same. ???????????? Really??? Just go to bed now!

It´s as simple that you personally can not request such document, but the company you works for or have salary from can request that they provide you with such document. Hope you understood now. Lesson over. Schools out for today!

    Embassy of Spain.

    The Consulate of Malta.

    ????

The Embassy of a European country here only accepts government pensions or official company financial documents from a company in its (your) home country stating your position and annual salary, along with 6 months of salary payments to your Thai bank account.

If your company is from a country other than your home country. No financial cert.

No extension using monthly income from overseas, even though the immigration rules are a rather easy 40k for at at least 2 months.

    ????

Happy to educate you, have a nice evening.

You can educate however you want. I have been using it, and done it. So, I guess you have a nice evening instead, sitting troubled trying to solve your little problem. ????????

    Matzzon is as usual wrong.

IraqRon, the cheapest method to get Windows 10 is to buy a Windows 7 key from Ebay, install Windows 7 and then upgrade to Windows 10. There are legit keys for as few as 3 or 4 USD.

I paid 7 USD for Windows 7 Pro keys a few years back and then upgraded all my computers to Windows 10 Pro.

Yep, I think it´s not only win 10 that need an upgrade. @tgw will need one as well. The free upgrade from Win7 to Win 10 ended 4 years ago.

Even if it´s still possible to do, It´s exactly like I say, you must buy a real version, and not use pirated software.

So you must be a very law abiding citizen ,

I don't mind if they leave gaps in their software …..,

I f I leave keys and not lock my car door in my abcense when in my country ….. it can cost me a fine if police see it …. so same same a bit different I would say …..as I provoke so a thieving they would claim (so by law )

they must lock their software doors better

Good on you. Now you blamed the software companies for not locking out people that steal. Really??? You understand how bad that read?

The embassy only accepts companies in it's country (your home country).

Immigration only accept the embassy letter.

Just stop it now. I know for a fact that you can as a non citizen of the country get for example both Embassy of Spain and The Consulate of Malta to verify income from companies in their country. And that Immigration accept such letter and count the combined sum as long as texas of the incomes are made in accordance to the law or agreement with Thailand and your home country.

  11. 1 hour ago, JeffersLos said:

Immigration require 2 months of overseas income.

    No problem.

If your embassy provides a financial letter, they insist on that.

The embassy (not British) requires official letter-headed documents from a company in your home country specifying your position and annual salary, with 6 months of transfers to your Thai bank account.

Your money overseas income doesn't come from a company in your home country.

    Problem.

No problem. You can get letters of income and specification of your position from all of the companies in the world.

Unless you are trying to work by yourself, get payed in black, non taxed or registered, money. Then you have a big problem, but that´s illegal.
