IME Thais have a much lower pain threshold than farangs. Yesterday my wife woke up with a headache and took 2 paracetamol. Because the pain hadn't gone away by lunchtime, despite having a 2 hour shouty shouty phone call with her mother in Issan, her friend whipped her off to hospital for a CT scan.
Came back with a boat load of paracetamol and a couple of packets of placebos. Right as rain today.
Sorry but i can't be doing with wimps.

So what do you think his (Khun Thanathorn's) democracy is?
Actions speak louder than words. We will only know the answer to that if and when he comes to power.
A bit like Taksin, although I do think Taksin is the best leader Thailand has had, that's a very low bar.

I don't think of Phuket, Krabi and anything south as Thailand. Have their own environmental system.
Don't see as much rice growing as in Long Dong either.

OMG, yes! Even the super-short fat ones with pimples, wide-set eyes, pug noses, hip dysplasia even spina bifidia routinely give me the brush off. Can't get no play no how.
They're the ones that I routinely have to ward off. Except the pug noses, I do like a pug nose. Great for doing Eskimo kisses.
Oh and the super short, love super short, my wife's nickname is Gom (midget).
Been with a few fatties too. Even fatties need love, they're super needy and grateful.

Those little Isaan beauties probably wish they could afford a big hooter too...
It's just cultural perception ????
I dare say that you're right. Girls with big fake hooters still turn me off though.

Most foreigners can't speak or understand Thai so this poll is null & void
And most Thais can't speak English either!!
Hard to understand insults etc when neither can understand each other
Ignorance is bliss. I thank the Lord every day that I can't understand my wife when she goes into a full blown Lao/Issan rant.

Let's not get carried away in the exaggeration dept.
He's not, it's true. Every single one of them has had a nose job. As I've said to many a Thai girl, "If I'd wanted a bird with a big hooter, I'd have stayed in my own country". Love those cute little Issan noses.

Really? When did that happen? I must have missed that. And here's me labouring under the misconception that Prayut and his cronies are still in control of the country.

I agree, if you are talking about the Thai Elite. Wealthy Thai Chin family, born into relative entitlement. If he ever did get into power, I'm sure his first task would be to increase his own family's wealth and power. Remember Taksin?

Name me any country that has real democracy ( a mythical word that is) I can remember a wise old man in the UK when I was doing my apprenticeship telling me ;- "When industry is booming you will be forced to do all the overtime possible, when there is a recession you will be unemployed and when there is war you will be stuck in a uniform and told to kill some poor sod like yourself or be killed for a group of champagne scoffing elites safe in London"
Picky.
Agree that no country applies democracy as it was applied in Athens in the 5th century B.C.
However, I do think that the UK complies much more closely to the modern concept of democracy than Thailand does.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy
"No consensus exists on how to define democracy, but legal equality, political freedom and rule of law have been identified as important characteristics.[12][13] These principles are reflected in all eligible citizens being equal before the law and having equal access to legislative processes."

Nice to see another Thai positive poll meant to bring out the goodness of the relationships between Thais and expats.
If you read the reply's to the poll, it does seem to be exactly that. Not much bon homie between expats though.

No. I think that kind of crass attitude only exists in America, and only by a certain kind of American.

Never by a Thai national. Plenty of expats on online forums have said it with venom. I've no idea why but they usually seem to be Americans.

Nonsense. My wife's a devout Buddhist. At the wat as we speak. Snake in the garden? Chop it's head off. Chintook in the house? Whack it and feed it to the cat. Thais are only devout Buddhists when it suits them.

That's a reason to return them to the streets? Thai logic at it's finest.

Millions of rai of rice field are under threat
I eat very little rice, I find other forms of carbs more nourishing. Wife and son can't get enough of it so I try to encourage them to have chips with their geng ped. What's wrong with som tam served with a bowl of freshly made french fries? Far better than that khao neow muck.
Rice shortage? All's good in the hood.

He didn't mention the knob who banned smoking on the beach then. Used to regularly hire a rake of deckchairs in Jomtien and enjoy a day on the beach with my family. Haven't done it once since the smoking ban. I had the curtesy to go and tell our regular vendor the reason why we wouldn't be visiting her again, lovely lady, really miss her. The only reply I got was one of those sick fake smiles. som nam na.
