The overwhelming majority of the Chinese we get here dont spend !!! They come on Chinese charter flights, stay & eat in prepaid & mostly Chinese owned establishments etc etc. -

With Chinas current internal monetary issues I would think there wont be anywhere like the numbers of Chinese travelling as they were pre covid. Maybe the rich ones that do spend when they travel but the package tours that were coming to Thailand didnt spend here anyway so it wont make much difference whether they come or not. Seven 11, the roadside mobile kitchens and any Chinese owned restaurant or hotel where they had prepaid in China may miss them but for main stream operators it makes little difference. The more that do come just means more people spitting & littering in the streets!!! -
Well if it lost power and or listed really badly given the sea conditions it would be quite a task to keep it pointing into the wind ( direction of waves ) After loosing generator power they would have no chance in the conditions in the Gulf last night and no generator means no pumps sufficient enough to cope with a huge water intake. There should be an engine driven pump also but with Thai mainetance standards were they serviceable?? Mother nature can be cruel on those with incompetence !!

So now you are discovering the real reason the Chinese are in Thailand. Wakey wakey Thailand, the Chinese have an agenda and its not what you think. Dont let the corrupt Thai officials try and make you believe otherwise as the Chinese have an even bigger appetite for a quick buck than Thais do and thats saying something !!

Whilst no one has the moral right to beat another to death the deceased has himself to blame, firstly stealing & then refusing medical help. Sure it certainly sounds like the property owner used excessive force so there has to be a case to answer for but he didnt kill the guy or intend to. Maybe the stealing has been a regular occurrence and the owner has had enough !!

Red Bull case: Former senior prosecutor discharged from service
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Reading many comments here and agree when it comes to certain things brown envelopes can work in the favour of both sides but when some little S head kills an innocent policeman and is allowed to walk due to his ability to produce very fat envelopes and high ranking officials tamper or with hold evidence etc thats where it exceeds anything thats fair or reasonable !! -

Another pathetic joke!! -
As unacceptable as this type of behaviour is I don't see why this topic should be headline news, it is because the guy is a foreigner. If it was a Thai guy it wouldn't even make the back page! Maybe Thais feel foreigners should know better and rightly so but sadly domestic violence is very common globally!! Yes woman invented the word "BITCH" and "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" but nobody has the right to beat their girlfriend or boyfriend!!

And further he committed a civilian offence and not during an army exercise so why doesnt he be tried by a civilian court, we all know the outcome of the military court!!!

Government claims its liquor policy is in the public interest
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
We all know why the current administraion tried to block it just like import duties, excise & taxes. Keep them ridiculously high to protect the local brewers and block any new players so the big boys can keep the monopoly they have had for years and the brown envelopes flowing!!! -
Sadly Ferrari Joe isn't the only rather well off cop, when is Thailand going to get real about all of this BS corruption and make the Forces accountable???? And I wonder how transparent the auction will be and who will really be the beneficiary's ?? Joe will get a reduced sentence for good behaviour and out an about in no time, mark my words.

Thai government defends foreign land ownership plan
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Sadly I believe the most Thais that show concern are the rich & Hiso's that want the cream for themselves and have little or no concern for the average poor Thai people. Of these hypocrites many own property abroad yet dont want to let similar foreign ownership in their country. Personally I believe its a good idea but with realistic & practical restrictions in place. Maybe 2 of those words dont belong in Thai vocabulary but one can only live in hope, they will get there eventually!! Those eligible should be citizens from countries that have similar land ownership laws and have relatively stable governments as a starting point!!
