Thailand Welcomes 15 Million Foreign Visitors in 7 Months
paul1804 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I find these figures quite hard to believe to be honest, we had a relatively busy high season where hotels & villas reported good occupancy rates as well as wholesale food & beverage suppliers had good sales. Everyone I have spoken with saw a noticeable decline after Songkran and both reported poor sales in June with a slight upturn in July so these figures claim similar numbers each month. I would have to now believe like many that the figures are fudged! -

Thailand Welcomes 15 Million Foreign Visitors in 7 Months

June is low season or have you forgotten, Jan, Feb & March were the highest monthly numbers, last week I read a news clip stating how pleased they were with the 12M as of June 30th. -

So what about the recently published statement, 12 million as of June 30, 2023 and now in July we get another 3 million ??? -
Well done Thailand, this scumbag should be castrated and left to bleed to death. Thailand you should hang your head in shame but you wont because you might miss out on a few Baht!!!!

Its a hell of a story but it is possible that he is only tell some of it. Why did he need to come to LOS to trade crypto when all you need is an internet connection? and leave his family behind! But Thai media often get the story wrong and or leave out vital pieces of information so only he and the fine upstanding RTP know the full story if there is more to it.

Chiang Rai begins controversial repatriation of 126 Burmese children
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Rai News
I would hope that once Pita becomes PM he will intervene in cases like these, the illegally instated Burmese Junta are murdering people on a daily basis in Myanmar and gutless hypocritical Thai people in power have no voice of disapproval. Prayut should be bent over and you know what for remaining silent on this issue. If he had any integrity he would have openly voiced his disapproval of the Burmese juntas brutality against its citizens who in 2010 & 2015 overwhelmingly voted the junta from power with an almost 80% landslide victory. In 2020 almost 1 million scholars sat the higher eduction exam, in 2022 less than 200,000 so Myanmar as a nation is going backwards fast under the current illegal Junta. -
Pita To Be Given Second Chance For PM: Wan Noor
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
One of the big negatives Thailand faces is the legitimacey of what the media actually report, they so often get it wrong completely misleading the public, often printing rubbish just to get a story out there leaving readers confused & often biased. The media have published statements supposedly made by Pita & MFP that dont enhance their chances of Pita being PM. He is well educated so I find it strange that he would make these statements knowing it will damage his chances of success! -
Pita To Be Given Second Chance For PM: Wan Noor
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What a circus, Prayut and his bunch of clowns should be put on trial for the changes they orchestrated to the constitution. They way in which they bought the changes was far from democratic and unconstitutional but just typical of what you would expect from a bunch of rogues! Their newly elected speaker is probably on parr with the likes of the USA's Nancy Pelosi, lets hope he's not as crooked as she is!!! -
I divorced from a Thai wife in Thailand recently, I had a lawyer draft an asset list which everything is split 50/50. We took this to the local Government office where we both signed along with official Thai divorce papers and in front of 2 witnesses. They gave us both a divorce certificate and another paper to myself incase I wanted to re marry in the Kingdom. I must check to see if I should notify my Embassy of my new status. My ex has residency in my country which means she can move there anytime she likes, live and work as she pleases. She doesnt have to do 90 day reports, doesnt need a visa or a work permit if she decides to work. She can buy a house outright if she chooses and after a few years of residency is entitled to all the rights of a citizen.

Thai tourism surge: 25 million visitors forecasted, boosting economy
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Hardly a worthy comparison given the BS Covid restrictions that the world sadly accepted up until mid last year. If this year wasn't an improvement on last year there would be something for Thai Tourism to seriously worry about. However low season has been very low and came early in many parts of the country. Given the global economy & the Russian invasion of Ukraine dont get too excited, the 2nd half of 2023 may not be so good!!! -
Thai ex-judge sentenced over 20 million baht bribery allegations
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Did I miss the bit where he has to pay back the 20 million and that his 5 year sentence is to be served in prison? He probably went halves in the 20M with the prosecuting authority presiding over his case so thats why it wasn't mentioned? -

Thailand braces for liquor industry disruption under Move Forward
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Its not about protecting the local wine competition but protecting Mr Chang & Mr Singha !!!! -
What a bunch of rubbish, there are lots of reasons why currencies fluctuate and sometimes a weak currency isn't a bad thing given Thailand tourism which just happens to be very much low season right now which is quite possibly one of the reasons the Baht is a little low. I would say when Pitas government takes power the Baht will strengthen given the positives of a non military government.

How could anyone with a real conscience have dialogue with a murdering pack of low life's like Burma's Junta. It is an absolute disgrace that the region hasn't demanded reform and reinstatemnet of the democratically elected government. China's Xi should be insisting that they reform or there will be no further project development but thats an indication of his level of integrity, he doesnt care as long as he gets a port and a railroad and pretty much whatever else he wants. Its a disgraceful region with the exception of a few!!!

I guess its a fair indication of the caliber of the Thai ruling parties generals integrity or should I say the complete lack of it! The military led governments of many nations are inadequate, mostly very corrupt and certainly not there for the people they are supposed to be leading and protecting! Myanmars Junta is the typical example and the countries Myannmar call their friends are the likes of Russia & North Korea, China of course who is there for the grab! If Xi really had the regions best interests at heart he would be offering aid & investment in exchange for the Junta to lay down its arms but we know that is unlikely to happen!

Thailand to reduce visa approval time for Chinese tourists
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is somewhat confusing given all the current crime in Thailand where Chinese are involved. You would think that visa screening would be greater in order to reduce this. I guess its suits those in Thailand who are just waiting for partners in crime!! Lets hope Pita and his government address these issues like the outgoing general always said he would!
