  1. Try Krunsri Bank. I opened one there on a visa exempt at the end of 2022. I explained about needing it to apply for changing over visa with retirement money requirements. No problem. I also know several others that have done the same in the last year
  2. What will the bar girls do without you Bob?
  3. I would suggest you consider increasing the payment to 10,000 baht also as thats closer to a reasonable amount for the childcare payment, (it's not alimony but child care). I would also offer to help pay something toward emergencies or 1 time larger expenses like school fees etc. at a set amount like 50% but only with a receipt,. I would put it in all writing indicating what you'll pay, what you'll share costs on and when you would consider any adjustments in the future. I would also include in the agreement that all payments would stop if she blocks your access to the child. Have it translated and have her sign it at a notary and keep the original of both and give her a copy.
  4. There are now reports coming from Pattaya about chinese tourist claiming they have been extorted for 30,000 baht for vaping and making complaints to tour agencies. The news report also states that infractions for vaping are to be handled only in court and the police are not allowed to arrest or ticket for this. Not sure of the validity to this or if it's just "me too" add on but sounds as if it's not a one off situation.
  5. She wasnt drunk according to news reports. The police coerced the taxi drive to say that to cover the extortion
  6. Mine was opened in Nakhon Si Thammarat but it needed approval of the main office in BKK. I know several people that have opened accounts with Krungsri in a variety of provinces, towns and in BKK on tourist visas and exempt entries.
  7. Google is driven by your own searches and preferences and feeds you an ongoing mass based on your own use tailored to keeping you engaged as long as possible. Couple that with sponsored advertisers (based on your own use patterns or related items) and that's what you see. It has almost nothing to do with government deep state bs. The main filter in govt context is censorship of the country you're in or location showing on your IP address.
  8. IG comments and likes are distorted for women. Anyone can comment on people (women's pics) they don't know. Many foreign men comment and like constantly on women's pics, like they have some chance on getting lucky. The key things to look at on IG, if its a concern is, does she reply to the comments and who is on her following list. Aside from that be aware as many have posted about the ease of game playing that goes on with some thai women. Take her out if you're interested and talk directly and watch for her reaction to you. its easy to fool people in the short term and hard to keep up deception long term unless you're blind.
  9. BP article listed the apology for not confiscating the value pen and then releasing the actress. They acknowledged that the evidence seems to supporting the internet suspicions seem to be correct. Thats not an admission or apology but a non admission admission. Soon don't be surprised that it turns out as a misunderstand and that the officer collected the 27000 baht fine for the vape pen but calculated the amount incorrectly.
  10. I believe the lack of Chinese tourist coming at this point is more dictated by the lack of finances due to past and recent lock downs in their country. The farther we move forward from reopening the more tourism should rebound
  11. Reporting this type of behavior on social media seems to be the only way to gain the attention needed to obtain a reaction, although the admissions and solution is still less than appropriate.
  12. I opened a savings account at Krungsri Bank in November while on a visa exempt entry. I had a tm30, passport and international drivers license and thai wife with me. Told them I needed to open an account to start my deposits for retirement. They made a call to the head office to confirm my docs were ok and 25 minutes later I was walking out with a savings account and debit card, bank book and bank app on my phone. Note: Krungsri has been closing branch banks that are low volume but high volume areas and atms are still around in most areas. Also I did not have to buy insurance.
  13. This article is out of touch with the current situation in so many ways. Seems like Heinecke may want to spend some time actually out in public and not behind his desk to get a better understanding of what is really going on. The posts titled is very misleading as the title quote wasn't mentioned at all in the article anywhere.
  14. You can use your own bank or a service like Western Union or WIse. WU and WIse and generally the cheapest.
  15. This was the first direct flight to phuket, the 9th was the first to come to Thailand
  16. I may be wrong but I dont believe you can get an extension to stay with a temporary travel document.
  17. They were only looking for "suspected" prostitutes. The known ones were ok.
  18. Because the average and median ranges are specific to usa in that link. Converting your worth only shows a comparison to the USA not the country you live in or Thailand
  19. I doubt that any competent doctor or qualified healthcare perfessionals would authorize that many vaccine doses to you.
  20. the older vaccines were never known to and it was stated they would not stop infection or transmission, only lessen the impact on severity of illness and reduce deaths.
  21. yeah fact are facts and that's the problem with China. They refuse to openly share critical information about covid, it's current variants and health impacts. They are only opening up now as they have been faced with widespread protests and economic collapse. With that scenario in place it's impossible to assess the impact their opening borders will and certain no comparison that's meaningful to what's happening anywhere else in the world.
  22. No I don't unfortunately as I live down in NST. I would check with other foreigners in your building. I'm sure a web search will also provide a lot of companies. I would definitely search reviews of any company you're considering. I managed a number of resort condominiums in the US before retiring and highly recommend making sure you have coverage for any damages caused by or coming from other condos or common areas\shared services or areas and also any damages you may be responsible for coming from your condo affecting other areas outside your condo
  23. You need to remember as a condo owner you only own the area inside your condo, floor to ceiling and inside of front door to inside of window. Get coverage for your property and liability for visitors and guests. Also liability for any damage that may come from your property, eg. Flood from plumbing that affects adjacent property or property below. Also validate what coverage the building has as they own collectively with all tenants the common areas like hallways, elevators exterior building envelope and any shared services like fire sprinkler etc. Reputable Insurance companies will guide you on whats available and what riders to add to a policy.
  24. So if I understand this thread you originally wrote a post implying using an agent may have let you down and had no idea of where you were in the process. In reality you went to imm with your agent and saw the application documents turned in and imm clearly had and were working on them. Hmmm....
